Chapter 23: Chat Group vs giant purple man
[Grey]: Why did the mission change?
[Akako]: Grey, now's not the time to worry about that. We need to take down this purple guy before the portal in the sky gets any worse!
[Cid]: This wasn't in the movie... but it makes it better! Summon Shadow!
As Cid activated his skill, hundreds of dead aliens rose as shadows under his command. He even summoned one of the giant whales that had been killed.
[Cid]: HAHAHA! Now, my army—ATTACK!
The others stared, seeing Cid go full Chuunibyou mode.
[Akako]: Ames, Jake, help evacuate the civilians. Cid, secure a path. Grey, you delay this giant grape with your pets. I'll try to talk to those heroes over there and offer some help.
As Akako spoke, his face was struck by a round shield, leaving only a small wound. Everyone turned to where the shield had been thrown and saw the Avengers, with Iron Man leading the charge.
[Iron Man]: Looks like we have company, Cap.
[Akako]: First, we're on your side. Second, we're here to help. Third, that was rude—even for me.
[Captain America]: Who are you people? And why is he raising the dead?!
Akako dusted himself off, unfazed by the shield hit
[Akako]: Ah, right! Introductions. We're the Intergalactic Peacekeeping Task Force! You can just call us… uh… The Space Police!
Iron Man just crossed his arms.
[Iron Man]: Space police? Really? You expect me to buy that?
Akako nodded seriously, voice full of fake authority
[Akako]: Absolutely. See that portal up there? It's a serious violation of Interdimensional Law Section 13, Article 42. We've been dispatched to shut it down and detain the perpetrator—your friendly neighborhood Purple Grape of Doom over there.
Thor gripping Mjolnir, raised an eyebrow.
[Thor]: You speak as though you have battled the Mad Titan before.
Grey was also playing along, adjusting her coat.
[Grey]: We have. Many times. Across multiple realities. He never learns.
[Iron Man]: Right. And what's with the guy raising an army of zombie aliens?
He pointed at Cid who dramatically, arms crossed, cape fluttering despite no wind.
[Cid]: I am the Shadow Monarch, master of death, and ruler of the eternal abyss. My legion is bound to my will, and I—
Akako took Grey aside and started whispering to her
[Akako]: I think he's making it worse.
Grey nodded, whispering back.
[Grey]: Definitely.
[Akako]: Ahem! He's… uh… using authorized Space Police Necromantic Emergency Protocols. It's all above board. No cause for alarm!
[Iron Man]: You're the worst liars I've ever met.
Just as they were about to be cough Thor flowed to Iron Man and Said
[Thor]: I think my father did say something about you
Grey saw a chance
[Grey]: You mean Sir Odin we haven't seen him since someone broke the bridge also he didn't pay his finan for space littering
[Thor]: Space... littering?
[Akako]: Yes, yes! The Bifrost was shattered, and chunks of it ended up in several restricted zones. Do you know how many space traffic violations that caused? We had entire fleets confused, going in circles for weeks!
[Iron Man]: Oh great, space cops and space bureaucracy.
[Thor]: I see… Fathers tend to ignore the smaller rules. He often said, "A king need not concern himself with the paperwork of lesser beings."
[Grey]: And that is why he still has unpaid fines. We've been looking for him to settle them, but then boom, Odin is nowhere to be seen! Now all his violations are just floating around with no one to take responsibility.
[Akako]: Also Mr.Stark assaulting a space cop can get you some time in space prison
[Iron Man]: Oh great, now I'm the one getting arrested. Space prison? Really? You guys are just full of surprises.
[Thor]: Assaulting a space cop... is that a charge I've heard of?
[Akako]: It's a serious offense. Space authorities don't take kindly to that sort of thing. You'd be looking at a couple of millennia in a high-security asteroid prison.
[Iron Man]: A couple of millennia? Yeah, that sounds like fun.
[Grey]: Really fun when you get thrown in with the worst offenders from all dimensions.
[Akako]: And you know... a little mandatory community service, like... delivering lunch to a galactic crime boss or helping a robot uprising with their paperwork.
[Thor]: Hmm... perhaps it is time for my father to finally deal with his responsibilities. I will inform him once we've finished with this... purple fiend.
He gestures towards Thanos, who's still looming ominously.
[Iron Man]: Alright, Purple Grimace, let's see what you've got.
[Thanos]: You all have no idea what you're up against. The stones will reshape the universe as I see fit.
Iron Man shots rocket toward Thanos. But Thanos raises his gauntlet, deflecting the energy with a wave of his hand. The rockets explode harmlessly into the sky.
[Thor]: Enough talk.
Mjolnir crashes into the ground with the force of a storm, lightning arcing through the air as he charges forward. Thanos raises his hand, his gauntlet glowing with the power of the stones. But before Thor can strike, Grey leaps into action.
[Grey]: Michael! Ammar! Now!
A giant metal dragon, Michael, surges forward, wings blazing as fire erupts from his mouth, and Ammar, the red-eyed crow, circles above, his wings leaving trails of smoke. The dragon unleashes a torrent of flame at Thanos, while Ammar dives in with a brutal, beak-shattering strike aimed at Thanos' head.
[Thanos]: Foolish creatures.
He snaps his fingers, and the fire is extinguished in an instant by the power of the Reality Stone. A wave of energy forces the dragon and crow back, sending them crashing into nearby buildings.
[Cid Kagenou] (smiling darkly): This is where the fun begins. Shadow Army, rise!
The ground cracks open as Cid summons the dead, hundreds of skeletal warriors and monstrous shades rising from the earth. A colossal whale reanimated and roaring with anger, crashes through the buildings, its massive body blocking the sky as it charges at Thanos.
[Thanos]: You think an army of the dead will stop me?
Thanos grinned, stepping forward, with a quick flick of his fingers.
He summons a surge of energy from the Power Stone, obliterating Cid's army in an instant. The whale shatters into pieces, and the skeletons crumble to dust. But Cid isn't done yet.
[Cid Kagenou]: I was hoping you'd say that. Summon Shadow: Apocalypse.
Dark clouds swirl around him as a portal opens above, and a gargantuan shadowy figure steps through—a towering, spectral version of Cid Kagenou himself, its eyes glowing with ethereal power. The shadow roars and charges straight for Thanos.
[Thanos]: Pathetic.
Thanos flicks his fingers again the Mind Stone pulses, and the shadowy giant freezes mid-stride, a look of confusion crossing its face. But Akako steps in front of it, his presence rippling through the air.
[Akako]: Enough, Die Thanos!
With a wave of his hand, Akako unleashes a Kill called [Maestro command] that disrupts the power of the Mind Stone. The giant shadow shatters its mind control and slams into Thanos with the force of an avalanche.
Thanos got up wiping the blood from his lips.
[Thanos]: Is that all you have? A fleeting moment of distraction? It won't save you.
[Akako]: Oh, it's not just distraction, Thanos. It's a countdown. The poison... it's already in your veins. You've been slowly dying since the moment we met.
Thanos' eyes widen in realization as the pulse of energy from his gauntlet begins to stutter. His breath grows ragged, the power in his body slowly starting to drain.
[Thanos]: You... poison me? Do you think that will stop me?!
But before he can react, the shadows at his feet begin to ripple once more, and both of Grey and Cid come out ready to strike.
[Grey]: You should have watched your back, Thanos.
[Cid]: Too late for regrets, Titan.
In an instant, Grey and Cid strike simultaneously. Grey's weapon—a dark axe forged from her own mana—swings through the air in a brutal arc, tearing through the flash. Cid, with his Sword glowing dark and menacing, brings his blade down with deadly precision. The two weapons meet at Thanos' neck with unstoppable force.
A resounding crack echoes across the battlefield as both strikes land, cutting through Thanos' defenses. For a split second, time seems to slow, and Thanos' eyes go wide with disbelief.
[Thanos]: Impossible...
The Mad Titan's head rolls to the side, his body quivering once before it crumbles into ash. The gauntlet falls from his limp hand and crumbles into ash, and his massive form disintegrates into dust, scattering into the winds of the burning city.
But despite his body's collapse, the portal remains intact, swirling ominously in the sky above them.
[Thor]: Weren't you guys supposed to arrest him... are you really space cops?
