I Woke Up In The Webtoon The Gamer As A Villain

Chapter 7: Observe

The subtle smell of wood and detergent in the air indicated that the previous owner of this body kept things relatively clean.

Good. I hate dirt.

I opened the fridge, inspecting the ingredients. As expected, there wasn't anything too special, but... there was enough to make something decent.

"Hmmm... chicken, cheese, tomato sauce, cream, lasagna noodles... Perfect."

If I was going to start my new life, I was going to do it with style.

I grabbed the ingredients and placed them on the counter.

First, I dealt with the chicken. I took the fillets and cut them into smaller pieces. A pan went on the stove, and I added a generous amount of olive oil. As soon as it started to sizzle, I threw the chicken in.

The smell of browning meat spread.

Meanwhile, I started seasoning—salt, pepper, paprika, chopped garlic. I mixed everything with a wooden spoon, making sure the pieces absorbed the flavors well.

After a few minutes, when the chicken was done, I poured in a can of tomato sauce and a box of cream. I mixed everything, creating a creamy, rich filling.

"This smells fucking amazing."

I left the mixture on low heat and began preparing the layers.

I grabbed a large baking dish and spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the bottom. Then came the first layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a generous layer of creamy chicken filling.

On top, I spread a good amount of grated cheese—mozzarella and parmesan, for that perfect balance of melted and gratinated.

I repeated this a few more times, alternating layers of noodles, filling, and cheese, until the dish was full. I finished with more cheese on top, because the more cheese, the better.

I placed the lasagna in the oven and set the timer. Now, all I had to do was wait.

I used the time to clean up the mess on the counter.

After about 30 minutes, the smell filled the kitchen. I opened the oven and was greeted by a divine sight: the golden surface, the bubbling cheese, the perfect aroma of homemade food.

I grabbed oven mitts and took the lasagna out of the oven, placing it on the table.

"Now, the best part."

I grabbed a knife and cut the lasagna into generous squares. The cheese stretched between the slices, and I was already salivating.

I put a huge piece on the plate and sat down at the table.

I picked up the fork, cut a piece, and took it to my mouth.

"Hrrnnn… Damn."

The taste was insane. The creamy sauce, the melted cheese, the soft noodles... I felt like I was at a royal banquet.

As I devoured the lasagna slices, one generous piece after another, at some point, curiosity about how the world worked suddenly pulled me back to reality. Without stopping to chew, I opened my mouth and issued a simple verbal command: "Options."

The screen appeared before me, softly blinking, bringing up several settings.

["SETTINGS OPTIONS"]

["Game Mode"]

["Video"]

["Sound Automatic Dungeon Entry: Enabled"]

I examined the screen while chewing a piece of lasagna. The concept of "dungeons" sounded familiar to me, something Han Jee-Han only learned later, after being thrown into illusory barriers and suffering in the process.

"If he knew this right away..."

Then, without much thought, I decided to test one of the options. I raised my arm while still chewing, with my mouth half-full, and pressed the screen, selecting the "Automatic Dungeon Entry" option.

["Do you want to disable automatic dungeon entry?"]

["Yes"] or ["No"]

Without hesitation, I pressed "Yes."

["Automatic dungeon entry has been disabled!"]

"This is convenient."

I took another bite of lasagna, feeling my body being fed as I reflected on my options.

But then, something unexpected happened. Another screen appeared before me, interrupting my delicious feast.

["Through Your Continuous Observation, A Skill to Discover Target Information Has Been Created, 'Observe'."]

I looked around and saw the lasagna I had been eating. The screen automatically brought up information about the dish I had just devoured.

["Chicken and Cheese Lasagna"]

Effect: Satisfies your hunger temporarily.

Type: Food.

Description: A warm lasagna.

"Shit... I didn't think it would be this easy. I thought I'd have to focus more for a longer period of time, or even eat other things while being completely focused to gain this skill. But if it's like this... then life is going to be a lot simpler than I thought."

With this skill, I could not only explore the world and items more effectively, but also acquire crucial information about anything I encountered.

"This skill is as important as any other."

With one last piece of lasagna in my mouth, I finished my meal, feeling satisfaction in both my body and mind.

["Your satiety has increased by 100%"]

I stood up from the table, still with the taste of lasagna in my mouth and my stomach finally satisfied. I felt it was time to take a look at something more important, especially because I couldn't just rely on the passive skills I had so far. I needed something more... something that would allow me to attack efficiently when necessary.

I walked to the sink area in the kitchen, where I knew there was a small hidden compartment. I pulled open the inner drawer with the tips of my fingers, and as I opened it, a line of sharp knives was revealed before me. Some large, others small, but all seemed ready for use. I pulled one of them, feeling its weight in my hand, and examined the blade more carefully.

["Sharp Kitchen Knife"]

Rank: Common

Damage: 10-5

Type: Tool

Description: An extremely sharp kitchen knife. Can be used as a melee weapon with good dexterity. Excellent for cutting, but effective for quick and stealthy attacks when necessary.

After evaluating it, I looked at the other blades on the rack.

["Professional Chef's Knife"]

Rank: Common

Damage: 12-6

Type: Tool

Description: A well-balanced chef's knife, ideal for precise and quick cuts. Great for continuous work and can be used as an improvised weapon in close combat.

["Slow Cut Knife"]

Rank: Common

Damage: 7-3

Type: Tool

Description: A robust knife with a wide, heavy blade. While not ideal for quick cuts, its weight makes it useful for stronger attacks, though not as efficient as smaller knives in fast movements.

"Hmm... this will do for now."

I was sure that, for the initial enemies, this would work. A kitchen knife wasn't the best weapon, of course, but with the skills I had, any advantage would count. Plus, I still didn't have a sword or a magical weapon to help me progress.
