I'll do what I can do to Freedom

Chapter 24: Chapter 24 : USB II

Linggis looking around, staring at the dirty plates left on the sofa and the small table. He let out a long sigh and shook his head with a cynical expression. "Tch, they didn't even bother to wash the dishes. Is that what they call gratitude?" he muttered in a flat tone while picking up the plates and carrying them to the corner of the room to wash them in the small sink.

Meanwhile, at the Hunter Analysis Department headquarters, the atmosphere had turned tense. Dozens of analysts gathered in front of a massive screen displaying data recently retrieved from Linggis' USB. One by one, they opened the files, their eyes widening as they read through the reports.

"This... this is insane," one analyst murmured, staring at the screen in shock. "There are more than nine hundred thousand pages of data here! How did he gather all of this alone?"

The head of the Analysis Department, a middle-aged man named Dr. Vaughn, stood before his team with a serious expression. His gaze was fixed on a particular file listing SS and SSS-rank dungeons that had never been recorded before. "All this time, we believed there were no more SSS-rank dungeons after the last one was eradicated three years ago... But this proves otherwise."

One of the female analysts, seated at the far end of the table, raised her hand. "Sir, the demons' strategies recorded here... they all make sense. What's most alarming is how they gradually corrupt the younger generation—getting them addicted to alcohol, drugs, prostitution, and short-form video applications designed to overstimulate dopamine. This effectively shuts down their critical thinking. If this movement pattern is correct, then we are already three steps behind them."

Dr. Vaughn nodded slowly. "And that explains a lot. Why their attacks seemed disorganized over the past few months. This isn't chaos—it's just a distraction. They're preparing for something far bigger."

Another screen displayed data on high-ranking demons that Linggis had encountered. There were over 300 types of demons, with the total number of recorded attacks reaching 10,028 pages. Every piece of information was meticulously detailed—from physical descriptions and specific abilities to exploitable weaknesses.

A young analyst, who had previously been skeptical about Linggis' intel, stood from his chair, his face pale. "This is all too detailed to be a coincidence. There's no way someone could fabricate this data… Even the statistical patterns align perfectly with past recorded incidents."

Dr. Vaughn stepped closer, his eyes narrowing as he studied the files. "Of course, it makes sense. Linggis might not be just any hunter. He probably understands their strategies better than anyone in this room."

"Should we report this directly to the Hunter President, sir?" an experienced analyst asked.

Dr. Vaughn shook his head. "No. Not yet. We need to verify all of this data first. But one thing is clear—Linggis isn't just a fugitive. He might be the only person who truly understands the demons better than anyone else. And if we want to stop whatever they're planning, we need more people like him."

The room fell silent again, except for the constant sound of keyboards and mouse clicks as the analysts worked tirelessly. The data Linggis had provided didn't just change their understanding of the demon threat—it made them realize how fragile the world they thought was safe truly was.
