Chapter 53: Chapter 53 : Wedding
Linggis remained silent for a few seconds, staring at Sola with an unreadable expression. Then, he let out a long sigh and leaned back against the tree behind him.
"So, it's been more than six days since you took my sperm?"
Sola nodded casually, as if it wasn't a big deal. "Yes, I've done multiple tests. The results are positive."
Linggis was still trying to process everything. "That was fast," he muttered.
"It was." Sola gave a slight smile, then sat beside him—close enough that their shoulders nearly touched. "I have access to the best technology, Linggis. I wouldn't have done this if I wasn't sure it would work."
Linggis looked up at the sky, then back at Sola. "You do realize this is insane, right?"
Sola shrugged. "Maybe. But I don't regret it."
Linggis let out another deep sigh. "So, what do you want now?"
Sola gazed at him with sharp yet gentle eyes. "I just want to make sure you don't go anywhere."
Linggis chuckled softly, though it didn't sound amused. "And you think this is the best way to do that?"
Sola smiled before resting her head on his shoulder. "Maybe. But now, you have a reason to stay with me."
Linggis didn't respond right away. He simply sat there, feeling the new weight that had now attached itself to him. But deep down, he knew one thing—his life had just become far more complicated than dealing with an SSS-rank dungeon.
Sola looked at Linggis, her eyes widening slightly before returning to her usual expression. "So, are you really agreeing to this?"
Linggis exhaled, staring straight ahead. "If it were the old me, I wouldn't care. But now, things are different." He glanced at Sola. "Fine, I'll take responsibility. But the wedding has to be simple—my way."
Sola gave a faint smile, but there was something behind it—like she had already expected that answer. "And what's your way?"
Linggis didn't answer immediately. His left eye suddenly glowed, his pupil momentarily shifting into a rainbow hue before returning to normal. He looked at Sola intently. "I can see from my eyes that you're not lying."
Sola raised an eyebrow, not surprised—just more intrigued. "A new ability?"
"It's been there for a long time," Linggis replied shortly. "I just rarely use it."
Sola's smile widened. "So, do you trust me now?"
Linggis scoffed. "Trust or not, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you'll have to live by my rules. That's the condition."
Sola leaned back against the tree, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "And what kind of life is that?"
Linggis met her gaze without emotion. "I don't like being controlled. I don't like drama. You have to quit being a hunter. And I won't change just because of this marriage."
Sola nodded slowly, her smile unwavering. "That sounds like a challenge."
"It's not a challenge," Linggis said. "It's a warning."
Sola stared at him for a long moment before letting out a small laugh. "Alright, Linggis. I'll live your way… for now."
Linggis didn't respond, only watching as the sky began to change colors, as if signaling that his life had just entered an unpredictable new chapter.
—
No grand celebration, no extravagant guest list. Linggis and Sola's wedding happened in the blink of an eye, with only two witnesses they barely knew—just for the sake of legal formalities.
Sola wore a simple white dress, while Linggis remained in his usual casual attire. No sweet vows, no romantic words. They simply exchanged glances before reciting their marriage oaths.
And once it was over, Linggis could only think one thing: This feels more like a transaction than a marriage.
Yet, strangely, he didn't feel any regret.
—
That night, Linggis sat on the small sofa in his apartment, still trying to grasp how quickly his life had changed. Sola stood in front of him, looking at him with an unreadable expression.
Then, without warning, she leaned down and kissed him.
The kiss wasn't rushed, but it wasn't gentle either. There was something intense about it—something that felt like Sola was trying to confirm something. Linggis didn't immediately respond, but he didn't push her away either.
After a few seconds, Sola pulled back, her eyes filled with certainty. "From now on, I'm your wife."
Linggis stared at her blankly. "And you have to live by my rules."
Sola gave a small smirk. "I remember that."
But deep inside, Linggis
knew—this woman wouldn't stop just because he told her to.
