"What?"
That night, in the dorm room, Fang Li received some surprising news from Aria.
"Watson transferred schools?"
Yes.
Watson transferred schools.
Today.
That was the news Aria brought.
"You missed class, so you didn't know," Aria said, wrinkling her little nose. "According to the academic office, Watson completed the transfer procedures this morning and didn't even attend any classes. The girls in the class were all running to me one by one, asking if I used any underhanded methods to drive Watson away."
By now, everyone at Butei High knew that Watson had come to the school specifically for his engagement with Aria.
So, it was only natural for others to be suspicious of his sudden, unexplained transfer.
"It's true that Watson's transfer was related to the engagement," Aria continued. "Yesterday, Watson met with me again and explained the whole situation. He said that after you defeated Hilda, he realized he couldn't win against you, so he gave up on the engagement and decided there was no reason to stay at Butei High anymore."
"So, when Watson met with me today, he must have already completed the transfer procedures and was preparing to leave, right?" Fang Li said, realizing the situation.
In other words, Watson left immediately after.
However, Fang Li suspected that abandoning the engagement was only one reason for Watson's departure.
The more important reason was likely related to the Far East Warfare.
After all, Watson had already made arrangements with Jeanne and Tamamo to suggest that Liberty Mason join Deen.
Given that, Watson would need to return to deal with the upcoming matters.
The Far East Warfare was, after all, a world war.
Once Liberty Mason announced its intention to join Deen, Grenada (servant) would undoubtedly target Liberty Mason.
So, Watson, being an exceptional intelligence agent, would need to prepare for the possible confrontation with Grenada (servant).
Of course, what Fang Li was more concerned about was another matter.
"You said Watson explained the whole situation to you, right?" Fang Li looked at Aria and asked. "In other words, do you understand the Far East Warfare situation now?"
At this, Aria's mood seemed to cool down.
She even glared at Fang Li, looking as if she was about to get angry.
"I almost forgot because you didn't mention it!" Aria said, sounding indignant. "How could you hide such a major issue from me? As a partner, it's completely unacceptable!"
"It was exactly because we're partners that I kept it from you," Fang Li shrugged and replied. "Think about it— recently, you were on the verge of collapsing from exhaustion. If I had told you about this, you would have definitely rushed headlong into it, right?"
"Of course!" Aria said without hesitation. "I don't care about the Far East Warfare; after all, there are still remnants of I-U active, right?"
"It's not just remnants of I-U," Fang Li said frankly. "There are also major forces from around the world involved, enemies more terrifying than you could ever imagine. I-U is only a part of it, do you understand?"
"Don't treat me like an idiot!" Aria bared her teeth at Fang Li. "Of course, I know how serious it is. It's not like I've just started being a Butei!"
Indeed, in terms of Butei's experience, Aria even surpassed Fang Li.
Fang Li became a Butei only after enrolling at Butei High.
Aria, on the other hand, had been an S-Rank Butei active in Europe since she was fourteen.
So, in terms of Butei's qualifications, Aria was more experienced than Fang Li and, being a native of this world and from the prestigious Holmes family, naturally understood the current world situation.
"Only, those guys' target is the Hidan within me, right?" Aria said with a sense of inevitability. "In that case, there's nothing to be so annoying about. We've already prepared ourselves mentally for this, haven't we?"
That's true.
After returning to this world, Fang Li and Aria had already discussed the issue of Hidan.
The countermeasures had been decided at that time.
"No matter who, as long as they're criminals targeting the Hidan left to me by my great-grandfather, we'll deal with them!"
Aria's crimson eyes turned to Fang Li's body as she spoke.
"We've already decided, haven't we?"
So, whether the Far East Warfare exists or not is irrelevant.
The nature of the situation hasn't changed.
Thus, Fang Li smiled helplessly and then answered with a gentle smile.
"You're right; there's indeed nothing surprising about it."
Fang Li's affirmation made Aria's eyes form crescent shapes, and her mood seemed to brighten once again.
However, whether it was Fang Li's imagination or not, he felt that Aria's crimson eyes seemed to have changed a bit.
What exactly had changed, Fang Li couldn't quite say.
But he felt…
"Hey, Aria," Fang Li couldn't help but ask. "Did your eyes seem a bit brighter than before?"
That was the feeling.
Previously, Aria's eyes, though crimson, had a deep, embedded look, like jewels buried in the earth. They had a luster but were not particularly noticeable.
Now, however, Aria's pupils seemed much brighter, as if the jewels had been dug up from the soil, radiating a gentle glow.
Yet, Aria herself seemed completely unaware.
"Brighter?" Aria said in confusion. "I didn't know anything about that."
After saying this, Aria pulled out a small mirror from somewhere and began to examine her reflection.
"Hmm… it does seem a bit… changed?"
As Aria examined herself in the mirror, Fang Li heard a voice.
"Hey, you'd better be careful."
It was Hilda's voice.
Hilda's voice drifted faintly from Fang Li's shadow, as soft as a whisper.
"That Holmes girl might become very dangerous."
This statement was identical to what Reki had once said.
Unfortunately, Fang Li didn't have time to inquire further.
The next moment, Fang Li's cell phone rang.
The caller was Jeanne.
And Jeanne hurriedly said to Fang Li:
"Not good! The enemy is attacking!"
