I'm a Chunin Teacher, But the System Thinks I'm Naruto's Classmate!

Chapter 27: Numerical Monster

Uchiha Sasuke sat on the ground, his expression dark like a sulking cat. In less than two weeks, he had lost first place in physical training.

He had only one goal for entering the academy—to follow in Uchiha Itachi's footsteps, dominate the Ninja School within a year, and graduate early. But now, before it even began, it already felt like the end.

"Sasuke, are you okay?" A hand reached out in front of him, and then Uzumaki Naruto's sincere face came into view.

"What do you mean?" Sasuke frowned and said, "You just got lucky this time. You'll never beat me again!"

"Sasuke-kun is right!" Sakura's voice rang out. She quickly stepped forward and extended her hand, afraid Sasuke might take Naruto's instead.

"I won't lose again either!" Naruto said confidently, "Mr. Kitazawa taught me a running secret!"

Running secret? Uchiha Sasuke's eyes lit up. Without a word, he stood and walked straight toward Kitazawa.

Sakura was left frozen on the spot. She clenched her fists awkwardly, biting her lip with frustration.

Naruto scratched his head. He didn't understand why Sakura seemed so angry. But he quickly forgot about it and went to find Kiba and the others.

"I got first place!" Naruto said cheerfully.

"Who asked you?" Kiba glared and snapped.

"Congrats, Naruto." Shikamaru smiled, offering his blessing.

"You're better than me." Choji handed over a bag of potato chips. "Want one?"

"Thanks." Naruto felt a warmth in his heart. He wasn't alone anymore—he had friends now.

"Teacher Kitazawa." Sasuke took a deep breath and asked, "What's this running secret Naruto mentioned?"

"Why didn't you ask him earlier?" Kitazawa replied knowingly.

"I didn't want to ask him!" Sasuke grunted.

"There's no secret. I just taught him the correct way to run," Kitazawa said with a smile. "You've already mastered that."

"I don't believe it!" Sasuke rejected instinctively.

"If you don't believe me, you can ask Naruto." Kitazawa wasn't surprised by his reaction.

Sasuke fell silent. If their running methods were the same, did that mean Naruto's physical ability was simply better?

Impossible. It was hard to accept. He gritted his teeth and turned toward Naruto. With a cold face, he said, "Come with me. I have something to ask."

"What is it?" Naruto followed, confused.

"What's the secret running method Mr. Kitazawa taught you?" Sasuke asked directly.

"You want to learn it?" Naruto lit up with excitement.

"You talk too much!" Sasuke turned his head and urged, "Just say it already!"

"Hehe, no problem." Naruto wasn't angry at all and shared the technique happily. To him, it was a huge honor that the top student had come to him for advice.

And more importantly, Sasuke had never treated him differently for being the so-called 'monster.'

"That's it?" Sasuke's eyes widened after hearing it.

"Yeah." Naruto tilted his head. "Isn't that enough?"

"…" Sasuke realized Kitazawa wasn't lying. Which only made him more uncomfortable. Why was Naruto's physical ability superior?

He was a proud Uchiha! Sasuke brooded for a while before swallowing his pride and approaching Kitazawa again.

"The answer is simple," Kitazawa raised his brow. "Your Uchiha clan is known for the Sharingan and Fire Release."

"But…" Sasuke hesitated.

"Naruto's talent isn't inferior to yours—it's just different," Kitazawa said with a calm smile. And it wasn't a lie.

In the original story, it was made very clear. Naruto inherited the physical constitution of the Sage of Six Paths. Sasuke inherited his spiritual power.

One was Yin Release. The other is Yang Release.

"What kind of talent does he have?" Sasuke scoffed. So far, Naruto was only better at physical training. Everything else was average.

Kitazawa chuckled. That's the terror of numerical values. When faced with a numerical monster, no amount of technique could win.

"You'll understand in time," Kitazawa patted his shoulder.

Sasuke subconsciously glanced at Naruto and frowned. He didn't fully believe Kitazawa's words—but deep down, he had a strange feeling it might be true.

After a short break, the class resumed.

After Kitazawa explained ninja tool-throwing techniques, he allowed them to practice on their own, then brought Hinata and the others to the training field.

"Teacher Kitazawa!" Naruto asked expectantly, "Can I start tree climbing training now?"

"Yes." Kitazawa nodded. He'd promised Naruto that if he got first place in physical training, he could begin.

"Awesome!" Naruto jumped up, delighted.

"It's just tree climbing. Don't act like it's a big deal." Sasuke scoffed.

"I'll catch up to you soon!" Naruto replied with confidence.

Sasuke was about to respond when he saw three Kitazawas.

"What kind of jutsu is this?!" Naruto asked in awe.

"The Shadow Clone Technique," all three Kitazawas answered in unison.

"I want to learn it!" Naruto's eyes lit up. The first thing he thought was—if he learned it, he could play with himself at home.

"I'll teach you after you finish tree climbing training," Kitazawa said, drawing a grand vision.

"Yeah!" Naruto nodded firmly.

"Begin training." Kitazawa assigned each of his clones.

One shadow clone taught Naruto, another Yakumo, and his original body trained Sasuke, Hinata, and Ino.

Naruto charged into tree climbing with fiery energy—but the results were poor.

Kitazawa frowned in thought. Did Naruto have talent? Of course. Otherwise, he wouldn't become the future savior.

But right now, he ranked last in the Ninja School and couldn't even perform basic Transformation Techniques, failing the graduation exam.

Part of it was due to his poor attitude. But another part… was the Nine-Tails sealed within him.

Kitazawa rubbed his forehead. With his current strength and status, he didn't dare mess with the Nine-Tails. The only path was compensating through sheer effort.

Though Naruto's progress was slow, he was improving.

"...?" Sasuke was full of question marks.

Naruto had trained for half a class and barely climbed one-fifth of the tree. Meanwhile, he'd climbed halfway on his first try. How could he lose to this Naruto?

Class ended before long.

Naruto reluctantly left the school and returned home.

"Congratulations on first place in physical training, Naruto." Sarutobi Hiruzen greeted Naruto with a smile.

"Thank you!" Naruto grinned and asked, "Grandpa Third, how did you know?"

"I'm the Hokage," Hiruzen said proudly. "Nothing escapes my eyes."

"So cool!" Naruto gasped, then eagerly asked, "Grandpa Third, I want to hear a story about the Fourth Hokage!"
