I'm a Daemon, so what? (Tensura/Multicross)

Chapter 10: Chapter 5 Part 2

- Felix -

It's been a few months now since I picked up Raiden, and man was she great.

She inherited my Lightning Element after I named her so it's always great to talk about Lightning and its applications with her.

She was able to come up with her own unique applications of Lightning Manipulation to use in both her human and dragon form.

I wonder what heights she will reach as a Dragon Lord, that will surely be a joy to witness.

I unfortunately have not been able to focus on my more elemental abilities, my main form of attack is Limitless after all.

Lightning is just something I enjoy using.

I wonder what abilities an Ultimate Skill based on Lightning would have?

Unfortunately Raiden doesn't have a Unique Skill just yet so it will be a while before I see an Ultimate Skill like that, but neither does Saeko, I do wonder what kind of Unique Skills the two of them will get when they eventually get one?

Though Saeko got jealous easily so I had to make sure to spend enough time with her, but that wasn't a problem.

Other than that I have been practicing Gravity Manipulation in the hopes of learning to create something like a black hole.

I wanted to pull a Madara and summon a meteor from space but in order to do that I have to be able to sense that far away, and unfortunately I can't sense that far with Universal Sense just yet.

I was eventually able to combine Gravity Manipulation and Nuclear Magic to make something similar after fighting a Daemon that was summoned and going on a rampage.

I'm not one to let that happen if I see it in front of me, the Daemon was fairly weak, only a Greater Daemon, apparently he was summoned in order to attack a village for some reason.

That's not the important part, he was a Daemon part of Jaune's lineage, due to this he loved using Nuclear Magic, those guys always love causing destruction.

I didn't immediately kill him due to wanting to see what he was capable of so I cast a barrier around us in order to protect the surrounding area.

At some point he was getting desperate as none of his attacks did anything, so he tried a desperate gamble, apparently this Daemon had seen Jaune fight in person and was trying to replicate one of her spells.

Of course he failed but that was enough for Odin to be able to figure out how to do it successfully, man Odin really is my cheat.

Anyways I was able to learn how to do the magic properly, you would basically create a black hole that would explode outwards to cause mass destruction. You would do this by creating a localized gravitational field disruption, which would result in an artificial black hole.

The black hole would then suck everything into a single point and explode outwards in a way that resembles a supernova.

The barrier I put around the blast would cause it to go upwards rather than outwards which creates a massive pillar that goes all the way out into space.

The Daemon called it Gravity Collapse so I kept the name.

Not something I see myself using a bunch, but I do love learning more magic, especially destructive magic.

Thanks to me beating the Daemon the surrounding humans started hailing me as a Hero which was kind of awkward.

They did give me the idea to join up with the Free Guild though, I could make some money and adventure around the world freely with a guild membership so I went ahead and did it.

Thankfully most countries don't have a way to detect a high ranked Daemon like myself as long as we don't want to be detected so I was able to get in fairly easily.

The test was fairly easy, they immediately placed me at B Rank due to me holding back a bit, no reason to freak everybody out.

I met some humans that I could barely consider friends, though that status would likely rapidly change if they found out I was a Daemon.

That did make me think of something though.

The lifespan between normal humans and Spiritual beings like me is so vast, hell even monsters generally have a much larger lifespan than the average human.

I've never thought of that, I am going to outlive all these humans aren't I?

Is this how Milim feels?

Was this why she was so hesitant to call anyone a friend?

Because they would leave her behind?

Knowing this would it not be better to suffer in loneliness rather than make a close friend but outlive them?

Unfortunately that isn't a question I can answer yet, though I think Milim knows the answer to this one.

Something to ponder about as I grow older.

Currently I'm in Brumund with Raiden as Saeko went back to visit the Ogre Village for a little bit.

Originally she was just going to wait until I went there next but I pushed her to visit after realizing that she missed her friends.

Who knows how often she will have the opportunity to visit in the future after all.

- Geld -

He looked towards his starving brethren and thought about how well the plan that his father figure Gelmud suggested is going.

The Great Jura Forest lost the protection of the Storm Dragon, all of that plentiful and fertile land ripe for the taking.

His people needed it.

Thanks to his father figure he was able to get enough armor, weapons, and rations to invade, all he had to do was make his subjects obedient.

He considered his options and settled on using his Unique Skill: Starved to place his subjects under mind control and subject them to a never ending hunger in the process.

He did not like using these methods to control his subjects, but it must be done.

For his people.

- Gelmud -

Everything is going just as planned.

Now that Jura lacks the protection of the Storm Dragon Veldora it will be easy to invade using that fool Geld.

Lord Clayman supplied the Orcs with armor, weapons, and rations, more than enough for a successful invasion.

He looked towards the army as it ravaged the lands all under the effects of Geld's skill Starved.

One of Geld's Generals led a detachment to a nearby Ogre village, which should boost their strength a fair amount.

He hired the mercenary Footman from the Moderate Harlequin Alliance to deal with the more troublesome majin hiding inside Jura just in case the Orcs aren't enough.

Everything should go perfectly, time to inform his employer.

- Saeko -

She looked at the Orcs that were attacking her home.

She was able to help evacuate some of the villagers but she wasn't able to save them all.

Who knows what would have happened if she hadn't been named by Felix-sama? The whole village might have been destroyed with all the Ogres killed rather than how it was now.

As long as there are Ogres they can rebuild.

The Orcs were not strong, their advantage lay in their numbers and their mindless hunger led them to not fear their own deaths.

An enemy who is not afraid of death is a dangerous enemy to have.

Thankfully she was able to massacre most of the Orcs as her friends led the other Ogres to safety.

As she was killing Orcs she dodged a magic bullet she felt coming her way.

She put some distance between herself and the location the attack came from.

She watched as a burley clown appeared next to the Orc that was leading them, it seemed to tell it to retreat while it would hold her off.

It wasn't just empty words either, he was strong. Stronger than her.

All the Ogres that were alive were evacuated, only 100 Ogres, but at least that's something.

She looked towards the clown and asked, "Who are you? Why are you attacking this village?"

She couldn't do anything about the retreating Orcs but she could still try and get some information.

"Hohhhh-hoh-hoh-hoh! Good day to all you esteemed personages! I am called Footman. The Moderate Harlequin Alliance's one and only 'Angry Perriot' Footman is how I'm known. I am pleased to make your acquaintances."

A Mercenary?

She watched as this so-called Footman prepared for a fight, she followed along by coating the Ōdachi Felix-sama gave her in Aura.

She could already tell that this fight would be a long one.

Sigh, she wished Felix-sama was here, she wanted to show him how much she improved her cooking.

- Rimuru -

He rushed towards the Ogre village that his friend asked him to keep an eye on.

He was already on his way there to visit when Great Sage warned him that it was being attacked by Orcs.

He just hoped it wasn't too late, he didn't want to fail one of his first friends.

Not after Shizue.

Once he got back from Dwargon he had gone to the Ogre village to see if they wanted to form an alliance of sorts, maybe even become his subordinates.

They were thankful for the offer but they did not want to subordinate themselves under him if they did not have to, though they did keep a friendly trading relationship.

He was able to learn about some monsters he didn't know about from them, in general the Ogres were a peaceful race as long as they were not provoked.

Once he finally got there all he saw was devastation, for a moment he was worried that all the Ogres were gone but then he saw Saeko, his friend's subordinate fighting someone.

If she was here she was likely able to make sure some of them got to safety.

He could tell the majin she was fighting was strong, stronger than him maybe.

He was holding back against Saeko for some reason, something to think about later.

For now he will help her, hopefully together they can beat that majin.

Sigh, the majin was able to get away.

Both he and Saeko could be considered strong, together they would be hard for most beings to defeat but that clown was able to easily toy with them.

At least they made it out okay.

Saeko said that she was able to evacuate some of the villagers, but now that their village was destroyed they have nowhere to stay, so he offered for them to stay with him.

Hopefully they will be able to rebuild with time.

For now he had to worry about the Orc Invasion that he learned about, he didn't want his village to be targeted next.

He watched as Hakurou, one of the Ogres he recently took in and named, toyed with the Goblins like children, Gobta casually said he wanted to learn swordsmanship, and this happened. Hakurou is definitely a tough coach.

Due to the presence of Saeko, who was apparently a former member of their village they didn't need any persuading as she vouched for me. And oh boy was that a surprise until I named the Ogres and saw their rapid change.

After they thought it through the Ogres were willing to be my subordinates which is a big boon, he wasn't even able to name more than five of them before I fell unconscious.

He decided to slowly go through the hundred Ogres that recently became his subordinates.

"Well, Come on! Strike back! I've watched as someone improved at ten times the speed of you!"

He internally winced, Hakurou didn't need to tell them that, their pride can't be wounded anymore at this point.

Poor Gobta.

He looked towards the other new Ogre now Kijin he named Benimaru, "What was it you said earlier? Something about an Orc Lord? What's that?"

"Well, put simply… it's a beast."

Simple indeed he thought.

"It's said that one is born every few centuries, it's a unique monster."

Unique, huh?

"They say he devours even his own allies' fear and terror, which makes him an unnaturally effective leader."

Sounds troublesome.

"The Orcs that attacked our village were unfazed when Saeko was slaughtering them all, so I thought that might be the case."

He remembered something from his previous life, 'He who does not fear death cares not for threats', the lesson is that enemies that don't fear death and are set on their path can be dangerous as they generally don't listen to reason.

"Of course, the possibility of it being an Orc Lord is still quite low."

"Any idea why they might have targeted your village?"

"Well… I don't know if there is any connection, but shortly before the attack a majin visited the village and offered me a name. I refused him and asked him to leave the village as I won't accept just anyone as my master."

"Hmm, you think he might have a grudge against you?"

"I don't know, maybe, what was his name again? I think he said Gela… Geli… Gele… Gelo?"

All of a sudden Souei, another Ogre he named appeared, "Gelmund?"

"Right, that's it."

Gelmund, he remembers hearing that name somewhere, hmm.

Aha, Gelmund was the one who named Rigur's brother.

Rigur also said that Gelmund was an officer in a Demon Lord's army.

It's most likely the same guy, does he just go around naming people?

He lost his train of thought when Souei said, "I bring a report Rimuru-sama, I witnessed a group of Lizardmen going to the nearby Goblin Villages."

"Lizardmen? Not Orcs?"

"Yes, because they make the marshlands their home, it was odd to see them around here, after further observation I was able to consider the possibility that they are making alliances in order to combat the Orcs."

I see, that could be a lot of help.
