I'm Not A Master, I'm A Director (Creating Fate Movie In Nasuverse)

Chapter 120: Chapter 122: Waver: My Stomach Hurts!

In London, at the Clock Tower, inside El-Melloi's classroom.

It was lunchtime, and the students in the classroom were gathered together, watching the latest episode of "Unlimited Blade Works" that had just aired on British television yesterday.

Normally, with Waver's strict approach to academics, watching TV shows in the classroom would be absolutely out of the question.

But, given that Waver was up against someone as persuasive as Shinji, who presented the idea as a "promotional clip to inspire students to strive for the prosperity of modern magecraft," Waver reluctantly agreed.

Of course, that was just the surface reason; the deeper reason was to prevent Rin Tohsaka from continuing to wreak havoc in the dormitory.

Although the cost of any damages would be covered by Shinji, it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.

However, Waver's final stand was that TV shows could only be played during the lunch break.

Once the practice of watching TV during lunch started, it was met with widespread approval from the students.

No matter how disciplined they were, even the most diligent students couldn't deny the tedium of constant studying.

So being able to relax and unwind a bit at noon was something they welcomed with open arms.

As a result, every day at noon, Waver's students would gather in the El-Melloi classroom, regardless of whether they had class or not.

The TV viewing sessions had even become a cherished tradition among Waver's students.

"I won, Archer."

On the projection screen, with blood trickling from his mouth, Shirou Emiya stared intently at the red knight and declared his victory.

Archer closed his eyes, a look of contentment on his face, and said, "Ah, at the same time, this is my defeat as well."

"Ah, so romantic~~," a purple-haired, one-eyed girl sitting in the front row sighed dreamily. "I'm kind of falling for this boy... If it weren't for Professor Velvet, I would definitely choose him. But unfortunately, I've already decided to be Professor Velvet's mistress."

"That's nothing to be proud of," quipped a bespectacled boy sitting next to her.

"But this boy, called 'Shirou,' really is impressive. Who would've thought that a commoner would have such guts? No matter what his ideals are, his courage and perseverance alone are admirable," commented Luviagelita, thoughtfully rubbing her chin, clearly impressed by Shirou Emiya.

"Indeed, I could never do something like that," said a gentle-looking, short-haired boy with a soft smile.

The other short-haired boy sitting with him turned around excitedly and called out to Rin Tohsaka, who was sitting at the back of the classroom: "Hey, hey, hey! Tohsaka! Are all Japanese people this tough? It's amazing!"

"I don't see what's so exciting about it," Rin replied. "But Shirou really is that kind of single-minded person."

Luviagelita taunted, "Quite unlike a certain ill-tempered Japanese woman, isn't she?"

Although she didn't name anyone, everyone knew who she was referring to.

After all, Rin was the only Japanese woman in the classroom.

"You—!" The veins on Rin's forehead throbbed visibly.

If they weren't in the classroom, she would have already kicked Luvia in the head, followed by a gem-based magical attack to her stomach, and then finished off with a "Thousand Years of Death" strike, just like Shinji would.

It wasn't that she wouldn't attack Luvia just because they were in the classroom; it was because Rin knew that if either of them started a fight, the other students would immediately restrain them with various spells.

After numerous chaotic incidents, the students of El-Melloi's classroom had adopted an unspoken rule: it didn't matter who was right or wrong—if either Rin or Luvia showed signs of starting a fight, they would be restrained.

For Rin and Luvia, this was a restriction.

As top-tier magi, their classmates' spells couldn't hold them forever, but breaking free would take some time.

Meanwhile, the other could take the opportunity to launch a relentless verbal assault—a situation that was simply too enjoyable to pass up.

But the other students' actions were only meant to curb the two troublemakers slightly; expecting them not to fight at all was impossible—absolutely impossible.

"Sigh, I kind of miss Fuyuki," Rin sighed softly as she watched the TV show directed by a certain someone.

After spending a few months studying abroad, she found herself missing a certain annoying director from Fuyuki City.

Compared to the heavily regulated Clock Tower, Fuyuki allowed her to act without restraint.

"That guy must be starting a new project, right? I wonder what movie he's planning to shoot this time? Could it be another Fate series?"

Rin didn't know that Shinji had acquired Tsuburaya Productions, but she was certainly curious about his next work.

However, before Rin could finish reminiscing about her hometown, she was interrupted by a sharp, mocking laugh.

"To think she would attack a Heroic Spirit... Some people's bodies definitely act faster than their brains. Hahaha!"

Luvia pointed at the screen, where Rin was seen attacking Archer and subsequently confronting Gilgamesh, and let out a high-pitched yet refined laugh, tinged with ridicule.

"What did you say, you unsophisticated golden pretzel?!"

Rin immediately slammed her hands on the desk and jumped up.

"I'll return those words right back at you, you Southeast Asian monkey!"

"Japan isn't in Southeast Asia, you geographically-challenged Nordic twit!"

"As long as it's south of my home, that's enough!"

"Then that makes you a stinky, hairy Viking pirate, right?"

"What did you say?!"

Luvia also stood up, ready to argue.

Seeing the brewing fight, another student in the classroom quickly shouted, "Quick! Restrain Tohsaka and Edelfelt! They're about to fight again!"

However, it was too late. Before anyone could cast a spell, Luvia had already elbowed Rin.

What followed were a series of explosions.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Hearing the explosions from his classroom, Waver Velvet, standing at the door, could only clutch his stomach in pain.

"Here we go again!"

Waver rubbed his temples, his face scrunched up in discomfort as if he hadn't gone to the bathroom in 30 days.

"Matou Shinji, you really are my nemesis!!"

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

Japan, Fuyuki City.

"Achoo!"

Just as Shinji Matou walked into the set of Super 8, he let out a loud sneeze.

"Director Matou, are you alright?"

Rubbing his nose, Shinji replied, "I'm fine. It's probably just Waver cursing me again."

"Boss, you can actually sense that?" Ophelia asked curiously.

"Because whenever he curses me, I stop sneezing faster than when Kayneth yells at me," Shinji said smugly.

"..."

Ophelia was at a loss for words.

"Haha~"

Hiroshi Nagano let out an awkward laugh before pointing to the distance to change the subject.

"Director, what are they doing over there?"

Since entering the set, Nagano had noticed that several Heroic Spirits, including Cu Chulainn, Archer, and Gilgamesh, were gathered in a corner, painting over some large posters of Ultraman's transformation scenes with colored markers.

Nagano's attention was particularly drawn to the massive camera placed nearby.

He had never seen a camera so large, something far beyond his comprehension.

"Don't worry about those idiots," Shinji said dismissively after a quick glance. "They're being punished, and they deserve it."

"Huh?"

Nagano slowly uttered a confused sound.

Shinji didn't offer any further explanation.

Instead, he called over an intern to take Nagano for a makeup test.

In fact, what Archer and the others were doing was attaching their magical energy to the paintings using special inks.

The reason they had to do this was that after the filming started, Shinji realized that due to the requirements of the naked-eye 3D technology, Tsuburaya's old footage couldn't be directly converted into 3D effects.

Most of the flashback scenes could be left as they were, but Shinji insisted that the opening scene of the movie, showing Ultraman's transformation on TV, had to be in 3D.

It was similar to how film companies in his previous life liked to showcase their studio logos with stunning 3D effects at the start of a movie.

It was a way to display the peak of 3D technology to the audience right from the opening scene.

If it were using 3D technology from his previous life, Shinji could have easily converted the footage using a computer.

But naked-eye 3D technology relies on capturing magical energy waves, and there was no way Tsuburaya's archived footage could have that.

To ensure the 3D effect for the screenings, Shinji resorted to a more labor-intensive approach.

He had each frame of Ultraman's transformation scene printed out in high definition, then had people apply a special transparent ink that could hold magical energy onto them.

Finally, each frame was photographed using an IMAX camera modified by Medea.

From a technical standpoint, this task was simple and could be completed by any apprentice mage.

The tedious part was that the work was incredibly mechanical and monotonous.

A standard camera captures 24 frames per second.

Although the original Ultraman transformation scene was shot with stop-motion animation, which had far fewer frames, Shinji still needed to apply the ink to dozens of frames to ensure smooth continuity.

Shinji had considered asking Waver for help from the students at the Clock Tower to process the frames.

However, Archer had stirred up a "Holy Grail War" within Type-Moon's company, turning the break room and conference room into a complete mess.

It was like receiving a pillow when you were just about to sleep.

Since these Heroic Spirits were so troublesome, Shinji didn't hold back.

And that led to the scene Nagano had just witnessed.

Of course, with their proud natures, the Heroic Spirits wouldn't obediently engage in such a monotonous task.

So, Shinji assigned them a supervisor.

"Hiss... My hand is so sore. Shinji really knows how to push it," Archer grumbled, shaking his hand after holding the pen for so long.

Even as a Heroic Spirit, he couldn't endure hours of working with his head tilted up.

But before Archer could fully recover, a fist the size of a sandbag slammed into his lower back.

Thud!

"Ah!"

Archer let out a pained cry and collapsed to the ground in an awkward position, perfectly mimicking a certain "world-famous painting" with one finger outstretched.

"Don't stop working!"

The supervisor—Assassin Li Shuwen—pushed up his black sunglasses and barked out an order with a voice full of authority.

"You're trying to stop me for good, aren't you, old man?!"

Feeling like his spine was about to snap, Archer let out a desperate wail.
