Chapter 206: Chapter 1: Arriving in Another World and Becoming a Mother

Passing through a portal that traverses worlds, Kotori Itsuka found herself in a new reality in the blink of an eye. But now, she could no longer be called Kotori Itsuka.

"Only my fifth world, and I'm already given such a challenging role?"

Standing on a deserted street, the girl glanced at her reflection in a nearby window. The joy and excitement she felt after completing her first role-playing mission were quickly replaced by a deep sense of disbelief.

Short gray hair, a tall but slender figure, and sky-blue eyes...

This time, the girl was playing the role of Nia Honjo, a Spirit known as the all-knowing and all-powerful Spirit of Wisdom.

Nia Angel, [Rasiel], consists of two main parts: the Search Page and the Blank Page.

The Search Page provides answers to any question about the past or present, including enemy plans, people's thoughts, or events happening thousands of miles away. This is omniscience.

The Blank Page, on the other hand, can turn fantasies into reality. Drawing dark clouds would make it rain, sketching an enemy's death would kill them, and depicting the world's destruction would bring about its end. This is omnipotence.

Yet, despite her immense power, Nia Honjo is one of the most persecuted Spirits.

From the inhumane experiments she endured after being captured by DEM in the original story to being mocked as an "old aunt" by readers, Nia reputation and strength are overshadowed by her suffering.

But for the girl, these were minor details. Her only concern was the difficulty of role-playing.

And Nia Honjo was undoubtedly one of the hardest roles to play.

Compared to the beginner-friendly role of Tokisaki Kurumi, Nia's character required much more effort.

The difficulty wasn't in the complexity of the character but in overcoming the sheer embarrassment of her personality.

While playing Tokisaki Kurumi, the girl only needed to maintain a mysterious, elegant, and slightly evil demeanor. Even Kurumi chuunibyou tendencies, like the "3rd" persona, were manageable since they were part of a copied consciousness, not the girl herself.

But Nia Honjo was different.

"She loves telling dirty jokes, teasing younger boys, and has a soft spot for risqué humor..."

The girl's nose twitched, and she muttered tearfully, "This is beyond my capabilities."

Though she had only just transformed into Nia, she already missed playing Tokisaki Kurumi.

With a sigh, she opened her system interface and pulled out a card from her inventory: the [Spirit Reappearance Scroll].

Using it would allow her to abandon her current role and return to a previous one. Since this was only her second world, the only option was Tokisaki Kurumi.

Now seemed like the perfect time to use it.

But after much hesitation, she decided against it. The scroll was a rare item, obtained only after completing a side quest perfectly. What if she couldn't get another one in the future?

"Besides, I'm a professional actor. If I can't handle this little challenge, how can I call myself an art school graduate?"

With renewed determination, she put the scroll back into her inventory.

The system then came online:

[Personal Information Updated]

[Current World: Black Bullet]

[World Data Processing...]

[Main Quest Released]

[Main Quest: Become a sister who saves humanity during the Third Kanto War]

[Side Quests Released]

[Side Quest 1: Advise the Holy Emperor and reform the Tokyo Area's corrupt government (higher evaluations for more replacements)]

[Side Quest 2: Develop a vaccine for the Gastrea virus (higher evaluations for advanced research)]

[Side Quest 3: Establish a shelter for Cursed Children (higher evaluations for more rescues)]

After reading the quests, Nia Honjo fell into deep thought.

"Black Bullet... this is going to be tough."

Compared to the world of "Bungo Stray Dogs," "Black Bullet" was far more dangerous. It was a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monsters, where humanity's survival hung by a thread.

The Gastrea, monstrous creatures, had nearly wiped out civilization. Only a few cities remained, protected by Varanium barriers. Outside these cities, the world was a deadly wasteland.

Even as a Spirit, Nia Honjo wasn't invincible. Unlike Tokisaki Kurumi, who could rewind time or heal herself, Nia had no such safety nets.

"This is a terrible matchup," the girl sighed. "I'll just take it one step at a time."

First, she needed to address the three essentials for any traveler: identity, money, and shelter.

In her previous world, as Tokisaki Kurumi, she had joined the Port Mafia, which provided all three. But in this world, there was no such organization to rely on.

Nia Honjo abilities could solve these problems easily. For example, she could use the Blank Page to draw scenarios like "A civil servant gives me an ID," "I find a lost wallet," or "I discover an abandoned house."

But Nia's personality made this unlikely. She preferred to live as an ordinary person, avoiding the use of her Angel and Spirit powers whenever possible.

This was a problem for the girl. To play Nia Honjo convincingly, she had to stay true to the character's habits.

"Old lady, you're so useless! Your stubbornness is making my life harder!" she complained internally.

Reluctantly, she decided to use a different approach. She pulled out a card from her inventory: the [Identity Fabrication Voucher].

This item would give her a fake identity and backstory, allowing her to blend into the world seamlessly.

"Use it," she thought, and the card dissolved into light.

[Identity Fabrication Voucher Activated]

[World Memory Modified]

[Fictional Life Inserted]

[Construction Complete]

Memories flooded her mind, giving her a new past and relationships in this world.

Her new identity was a struggling manga artist, much like Nia Honjo in the original story. But in this ruined world, her career was far less lucrative.

Opening her wallet, she found only a few crumpled bills.

"In my last world, I never worried about money. Now I'm broke. The contrast is too much," she muttered.

Just then, the system updated her main quest:

[Main Quest Updated]

[Main Quest: Spread the Gospel in Tokyo as a Sister]

The girl groaned.

"Spread the gospel? What gospel? Nia Honjo isn't a real nun! She's just a 2D otaku in a nun costume! And not even a proper one!"

She couldn't believe the system expected her to preach.

Feeling overwhelmed, she decided to use another card: the [Sub-Spirit Summoning Ticket].

This would summon a companion Spirit to assist her in this dangerous world.

[Sub-Spirit Summoning Ticket Activated]

[Spirit Extraction Complete]

A bright light appeared, and when it faded, a young girl stood before her.

She looked about twelve, with long black-to-gray hair tied in twin tails and the same sky-blue eyes as Nia Honjo.

The girl recognized her immediately: Nibelcole, the Devil's Daughter.

In the original story, Nibelcole was ruthless, having killed Itsuka Shido over two hundred times. She even had a sadistic streak, enjoying the suffering of others.

But this Nibelcole seemed different.

Her eyes sparkled with warmth as she looked at the girl and spoke a single, unexpected word:

"Mom!"
