I’m the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 6: Preparation For Opening

After seeing off Linoone, Yuga brought the dizzy Flabébé back home.

Upon returning home, Yuga administered some medicine to Flabébé and placed it on his bed to rest.

Yuga knew that Flabébé would definitely lose, as the opponent was personally selected by him.

That Linoone was over twenty levels higher and had evolved to its final form, boasting significantly higher combat power than Flabébé, who was only at level 15.

Despite Flabébé having much higher aptitude than Linoone, the level and racial advantage narrowed the gap between their abilities.

Yuga had devised a scheme to deceive Flabébé into participating in this inevitably losing battle, aiming to ignite its competitiveness and motivate it to become stronger.

The original host never thought of becoming a trainer, nor did he have proper plans for his future.

At most, he intended to naturally take over the family Day Care.

Thus, his initial Pokémon was treated merely as a playmate.

Their carefree life gradually eroded Flabébé motivation to excel.

Yuga, on the other hand, was different.

He had inexplicably arrived in this world, retaining the memories of the original host, yet still felt a trace of unease.

Despite appearing to accept his transmigration naturally and getting along well with Hisako, Flabébé, and Luna, only he knew that his heart was filled with uncertainty and anxiety.

After all, in his previous world, he was just one of countless ordinary individuals, utterly average.

This was why he had the desire to become stronger.

Mighty strength provided a sense of security; especially for a man, the pursuit of power seemed almost innate.

As Yuga looked at the peacefully sleeping Flabébé, he felt a hint of guilt; after all, he had resorted to some tricks.

He thought to himself, "I'll treat it better in the future."

"System? System? Are you there?"

Yuga called out to his "golden finger" with his mind.

[ I've always been here, Host. How may I be of service to you? ]

"Um, how should I address you?"

[ I am System 1314520. ]

"Could we change that name? It sounds... well, can I give you a name?"

[ I am System 1314520. ]

"How about we call you 'Dragon Proud Sky'? Sounds majestic, right?"

[ I am System 1314520. ]

"Or maybe 'Dragon God'? That's quite grand."

[ I am System 1314520. ]

"Not satisfied with Dragon God? How about 'Conqueror'?"

[ I am System 1314520. ]

...

...

...

Feeling parched, Yuga weakly said, "I get it, you're System 1314520. Can I just call you 1314520?"

[ Of course, you may. How may I assist you? ]

The system voice remained unchanged from beginning to end—mechanical, rough, calm, and devoid of emotions...

Yuga felt extremely uncomfortable at the moment. He simply wanted to give his system a pleasant name; why was he denied?

"How do I use the renovation qualification for my shop?"

[ As long as the host selects an appropriate time and ensures the shop is unoccupied, the system can commence renovations at any time. ]

"How long will the renovation take?"

[ Five hours. ]

"That's fast."

[ System 1314520 is at your service. ]

Yuga was too weary to retort. He dismissed the overly zealous service and wasn't even permitted to rename the system.

"Can I schedule the renovation for tonight after I go to sleep?"

[ Of course, the host may decide everything. ]

Once the shop renovation was complete, Yuga would ask his uncle to help with the transfer procedure, and the shop could reopen.

After the shop was back in business, Yuga would need to consider the issue of merchandise.

Previously, YoYo Day Care didn't sell young Pokémons due to their circumstances.

Selling young Pokémons required an ecological park for their care.

The spacious courtyard prepared by his parents was meant for constructing the ecological park.

However, the cost of building the park was high, and even after his parents passed away, it remained incomplete.

As for Pokémon eggs, there were still some left in the warehouse. However, their number was not large—only a dozen or so— leftovers from previous sales.

The original host only had a rough understanding of this. After his parents' deaths, his grief prevented him from tending to these matters.

Yuga decided to inspect the warehouse tomorrow.

"System, you can start renovating the shop after I go to sleep."

[ Understood, Host. ]

Yuga, with plenty of idle time on his hands, found his evenings rather dull.

After spending a while browsing the internet in his room, he eventually dozed off on his bed.

The next day, Yuga once again woke up feeling suffocated.

He felt something sticking to his face, causing immense discomfort.

Half-asleep, Yuga quickly swiped at his face, flinging the offending object away.

Soon after, a pitiful cry followed.

"Sorry, Flabébé, can you forgive me once again, please?"

Early in the morning, Yuga begged Flabébé for forgiveness, his hands clasped in prayer.

Flabébé turned its head, unwilling to pay Yuga any attention.

"You said you'd protect me yesterday, but you couldn't even defeat Linoone."

Hearing Yuga words, Flabébé felt like it had been struck by lightning. Its petrified form seemed like it could blow away with the wind.

This comment directly hit Flabébé sore spot.

The dejected Flabébé no longer had the energy to be mad at Yuga.

Seeing Flabébé in such a sorry state, Yuga thought, "Did I go too far?"

"Flabébé, don't be disheartened. Failing now doesn't mean you won't succeed in the future. As long as you're willing to work hard and become stronger, you'll definitely win in the future. I'm also relying on you for protection! Let's strive together."

Encouraged by its owner, Flabébé eyes shone, it clenched its fists, and it regained its determination.

"Flabébé!"

Flabébé made a cheering gesture towards Yuga, showing that it would put in the effort.

As for being flung to the ground by Yuga, with its tiny brain capacity, it had long forgotten about that incident.

Seeing Flabébé back to normal, Yuga let out a sigh of relief.

Getting along harmoniously with his Pokémon wasn't an easy task.

"1314520, how's the shop renovation going?"

No matter how many times he called, Yuga found the name "1314520" rather bland.

[ Everything has been renovated. ]

"Then let's go down and take a look."

Yuga shouted to Flabébé, who was still lost in its world, "Flabébé, let's go downstairs."

After saying that, he got up and headed downstairs.

Flabébé hurriedly followed Yuga.

Descending the stairs from the second floor, the modified first floor, transformed by the system, gradually came into view.

Yuga marveled at the tremendous change before him; it was no longer just a renovation.

Yuga could proudly proclaim, "Our shop has been rebuilt, and it's been lavishly redecorated."

Describing a pet shop this way might sound odd, but it was indeed the case.

The house Yuga lived in was made of wood, so the interior design retained the original style, naturally featuring wooden decor.

At the entrance stood a wooden cashier counter, not large in size, yet adorned with intricate patterns that added a touch of elegance.

Additionally, on either side of the counter were two plants, each about half a person height.

Yuga didn't recognize the species of these plants, but it was undeniable that they added a lively atmosphere to the shop.

The counter where Pokémon eggs were displayed had the same material as the cashier counter.

Its light brown wooden surface was embedded with transparent glass, enabling customers to observe Pokémon eggs inside.

Of course, there were currently no Pokémon eggs inside.

On the counter were also colorful fabric pads, specially designed by the system to protect Pokémon eggs from damage.

According to the system, these pads could automatically regulate temperature, ensuring that Pokémon eggs were always kept at the optimal temperature for incubation.

Yuga was amazed by this.

What kind of advanced technology was this? How had he never heard of it before?

[ Host, this is a unique technology of the system. ]

"I must say, what's your background? How do you possess such incredible abilities?"

[ This system is a benefit randomly assigned to transmigrators. I am Number 1314520. ]

"Alright, I know all that, you don't need to repeat it."

After all, the more powerful the system was, the greater the assistance it provided. Yuga decided not to ask any more questions.

The less you know, the longer you live.

All the cabinets were arranged around a large tree in the center of the shop.

This tree grew with abundant branches and leaves, almost enveloping all the cabinets within its sprawl.

What's significant is that it wasn't growing in a pot; it was directly rooted in the ground.

The shop elegant wooden floor had a hole in the middle, where the tree grew.

Of course, the hole had been artfully integrated and looked quite aesthetically pleasing.

Yuga also didn't recognize the tree species.

"1314520, why is there a tree planted in the middle of the shop?"

[ Host, doesn't it look nice? ]

"It looks very nice, but is there any other reason besides aesthetics?"

[ It also increases the greenery ratio. ]

"Is that it?"

[ That's it. ]

"Really? That doesn't sound like you."

[ Just kidding. This tree can regulate the temperature and humidity inside the shop, keeping it warm in winter and cool in summer. Moreover, it can undergo photosynthesis indoors without requiring sunlight, which is convenient and environmentally friendly. It's not a native plant of Pokémon world; it's a special benefit from the system. ]

Yuga was a bit speechless.

"You joke around so seriously, yet it's not the least bit funny."

Especially with that tone, Yuga thought.

[ Is that so? I won't do that in the future. ]

Regardless, the tree was still quite impressive.

Flabébé was fascinated by the sudden transformation of their home overnight. It flew around the shop, inspecting it from every angle.

Yuga was quite pleased with the shop transformation by the system.

"Flabébé, how do you like the renovation of our shop?"

Flabébé flew up to the large tree in the center of the shop and paused. It didn't respond to Yuga question, seemingly captivated by the tree.

"Do you like this tree?"

Flabébé immediately flew to Yuga and eagerly nodded its head.

"Then I'll build a little house for you on this tree in the future. How does that sound?"

"Flabébé, Flabébé."

Flabébé joyfully nodded, completely unaware that this was part of Yuga scheme.

Yuga was determined not to wake up feeling suffocated every morning.

Soon, Yuga noticed that not only had the front of the shop been renovated, but the kitchen and dining area at the back had also been redesigned to match the style of the shop.
