Imperium of Man Terra Aeterna Season 01: Rise of Humanity's War Machin

Chapter 29: Chapter 029 - Battlecruiser Gorgon

The Hive Revelation

"What are they doing in Raccoon City?" Alice asked, frowning at the screen.

Her question came right after Red Queen mentioned something suspicious.

"Because the top executives of Umbrella—along with several high-ranking government officials—are currently hiding in the Hive beneath the city," Reuel answered calmly.

"What?" Jill exclaimed in disbelief.

"Wasn't Raccoon City nuked?" Alice asked, her eyes locking onto Reuel's.

He nodded slowly and began explaining. "Remember when we escaped from that city? A nuclear missile was launched at it."

"Umbrella launched it," he continued. "A small tactical nuclear device—modified. The blast was enough to wipe out the city, but the radiation levels were far lower than a standard nuke."

He knew more than he was letting on. Reuel had never fully disclosed that Umbrella's leadership had already prepared to retreat into the Hive—they wouldn't destroy their own refuge. The blast was more of a deterrent—to keep external forces, especially governments, from reaching the site.

"So... are we going to stop them?" Alice asked again, her eyes still fixed on the video feed.

"I don't know," Ada Wong murmured. She studied the footage—zombies crawling beneath the thermal camera's gaze. "Why do I get the feeling they want this chaos?"

"Maybe it's a diversion," Jill offered immediately.

Alice glanced at the screen, considering the possibility. "Could be," she agreed.

Reuel shook his head. "No speculation. They're not a distraction, and this isn't just bait. They're just sick bastards who enjoy watching the world suffer."

The room fell silent.

Reuel's voice dropped, sharp and clear. "The leader of that horde… he's a replica of Dr. Isaacs. And he doesn't even know he's a clone."

"What? That's a clone too?" Jill was visibly shaken.

"How many versions of Isaacs are there?" Alice muttered, recalling her encounter at the desert facility. "We both fought one of them."

"Relax," Reuel replied. "The real Dr. Isaacs only cloned himself twice. No more than that."

He glanced at Alice, silently implying that if he hadn't intervened, she would've already been captured and turned into another test subject beneath the Hive. The fact that Alice was still free was nothing short of a miracle—and perhaps, she wasn't the only version of herself out there.

The women in the room stared at Reuel, clearly wanting to know how he knew all of this.

Reuel sighed and said flatly, "Not now. Once Umbrella falls, I'll explain everything."

He shook his head gently, signaling that the discussion was over.

Alice and the others understood—this wasn't the right time. They held back their questions.

Reuel turned to Alice and said, "Your Special Forces unit will be under your full command. Use the next few days to adapt. After that, you'll begin striking Umbrella's outposts—starting with the ones across the United States."

He continued, voice firm with resolve. "Aside from the Hive and Raccoon City, all remaining facilities will be destroyed by the Cadia Shock Troopers."

Alice clenched her fists. "I'll wipe out every last one of their bases," she said with unwavering conviction.

"Red Queen, mark every known Umbrella facility. Coordinate the data with Alice and her teams," Reuel ordered.

"Yes, brother," Red Queen replied.

"Now, let's eat. Claire's with her brother—don't let the food get cold," Jill said with a faint smile, trying to soften the atmosphere.

Seeing Terry and the others already setting the table, Reuel gave a brief nod and greeted everyone. He gestured for the formidable women in the room to join him—for a dinner among warriors, before the war truly began.

Chicago, suburban area

More than a dozen massive vehicles—mobile base-like trucks—were luring a huge horde of zombies forward.

On the roof of one of the trucks stood a man: a clone of Dr. Isaacs, also known as the replicant.

Clone Isaacs looked at the zombie horde trailing behind and nodded with satisfaction. He would lead that undead army straight to Raccoon City.

If he encountered any surviving humans along the way, he would unleash the zombies and capture them.

"Doctor, are we really moving out with a zombie horde like this?" asked a European man in an Umbrella Corp uniform, standing on the rooftop path.

"Yes, I'm going with the zombie army. And when I meet the survivors, I'll lead these creatures against them. Don't you think that sounds... exciting?"

The clone of Dr. Isaacs spoke to the European man with cruel delight.

"But if we're not careful, we could end up in serious danger." The European man sounded uneasy.

"It'll be fine. Alert the other trucks. We march for Raccoon City."

"Yes, Dr. Isaacs," the man replied.

And so, more than a dozen mobile-base-like vehicles rolled out toward Raccoon City—escorted by a swarm of zombies.

Raccoon City — The Hive

"Dr. Isaacs, your clone has gone rogue… and his behavior is a little extreme."

Lightning Queen reported with a tense expression.

"Shut up! Is he moving out with a large force? That would be the dumbest thing he could do."

"No, Doctor. But… I can't explain his behavior. You'd better see for yourself."

Lightning Queen realized Isaacs was misunderstanding, so she immediately pulled up satellite imagery.

On the screen, the clone of Dr. Isaacs could be seen riding a massive mobile fortress, flanked by an enormous crowd of zombies.

Dr. Isaacs stared at the screen in disbelief—then violently threw his desk aside.

"You fucking moron! That idiotic bastard!"

His face flushed red with rage. He glared at the screen, unable to comprehend his clone's motives. What the hell was he trying to accomplish by dragging a zombie horde out into the open?

But just as Isaacs tried to analyze further, the satellite feed suddenly cut out.

"What the hell just happened?!" he barked.

"Lightning Queen, report!"

"Doctor, we've lost control of the satellite. All of them... have been taken over," she replied, expressionless.

"What do you mean all of them?! What about the backups?!"

"I'm sorry, Doctor. The entire satellite fleet has been compromised. Only the internal network remains operational."

Dr. Isaacs exploded with fury, hurling equipment to the floor, shattering it on impact.

"Who dares do this?! Who the hell is behind this?!"

Lightning Queen stood frozen, not daring to speak.

"Activate all Hive defense systems. Wake up every clone soldier. Now!"

"Immediately, Doctor," she replied swiftly.

"And deploy every zombie dog to all entrances and exits. Send the experimental creatures to the perimeter too. I don't want any more fucking surprises tonight…"

Dr. Isaacs paused for a moment, strategizing. His eyes burned with escalating paranoia and fury.

Salt Lake City — Reuel Headquarters

The Red Queen processed data rapidly, her systems running at maximum capacity.

The moment Reuel declared his intent to launch a full-scale assault against Umbrella, Red Queen began hacking into the orbital satellite network. But gaining full control proved difficult.

And just as she was about to obtain total access, Umbrella's system started to respond.

"You're moving again... Not this time. I won't let you."

She gave a small, cold, calculating smile. With a single digital command, she took control of Umbrella's satellites.

"You are now my eyes. Obey me."

---

Several days passed.

That night, just before midnight, Reuel was still awake. He sat alone in his office, lights dim, the only illumination coming from a holographic display.

His eyes were fixed on the watch strapped to his wrist.

He didn't know why he felt uneasy—or maybe he knew exactly why... he just refused to admit it.

The clock struck 12:00.

Suddenly, the system chimed.

"Ding. Host, one month has passed. Your Soldier Module and Weapon Module are now available for activation."

Reuel looked at the screen, a faint smile curling at the edge of his lips.

"Finally. Let's see how lucky I am tonight."

He took a deep breath, then gave the command:

"Activate the Soldier Module first."

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for acquiring 5,000 elite Terran Marine soldiers."

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for acquiring 5,000 elite Firebat soldiers."

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for acquiring 5,000 elite Medic soldiers."

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for acquiring 5,000 elite Marauder soldiers."

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for acquiring a full stockpile of weapons for all acquired StarCraft troops, valid for one full year."

Reuel grinned with satisfaction.

At last. These reinforcements would prove incredibly useful. Alice would be thrilled once the entire American division was reassigned to her command.

"Activate the Weapon Module," Reuel ordered.

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for acquiring 20 Dominion Battlecruisers, Gorgon-class capital warships."

Reuel fell silent.

Shit... Did I hear that right just now? Space-faring warships? These aren't just any ships—these are Gorgon-class, the most powerful capital ships ever deployed by the Terran Dominion in the Koprulu Sector. With this, I can finally start gathering resources to build more, at least while my Imperium of Man capital is still under construction on Earth—in the world of Resident Evil.

"System," he asked, "are these really warships from StarCraft, like in the game?"

"Correct, host. These are fully-crewed spacefaring capital ships, with 6,000 to 7,000 personnel, including support staff, maintenance engineers, and starfighter pilots. Each vessel carries 240 starfighters: Wraiths, Vikings (in aerial mode), Ravens, and Medivacs."

"For ground combat vehicles: 50 to 100 Hellions or Hellbats, 40 to 60 Siege Tanks, 20 to 30 Thors, as well as several APCs and light logistics vehicles, including around 300 SCVs—depending on the mission, be it base construction or resource mining."

"Other onboard facilities include: a mini scientific laboratory, AI core, nuclear storage (for Ghost units), and tactical nuclear capabilities with five to ten mini warheads."

Reuel chuckled softly, his expression like a child receiving a long-awaited toy.

He didn't even know what he was thinking anymore. He just sat there, quietly laughing.

This incredible opportunity felt like a dream come true.

"System, deploy the battlecruisers into Earth's orbit. Activate stealth mode and link them to the Red Queen's communication system."

"Command acknowledged, host."

"Thank you, system."

Reuel considered exploring the system further, but as always, it only responded when necessary.

So he let it be.

In his mind, Reuel was already forming a plan. He would use the battlecruisers to explore planets, harvest resources, and establish new colonies. Building the capital of the Imperium, forging arsenals, constructing shipyards—none of that could rely on a single planet. The demand was simply too great.

"Brother, the connection is established."

A holographic projection of the Red Queen appeared before him—presumably the system had auto-connected the necessary channels.

"Connected."

Reuel put on his communication headset.

"Your Imperial Majesty, allow me to introduce myself. I am Admiral Gerard DuGalle, Acting Commander of the Battlecruiser Fleet and the Gorgon-class warships."

Reuel immediately frowned.

Wait... Gerard DuGalle?

Did I hear that right? Isn't he...?

Shit. That's the same guy from StarCraft 1—the antagonist who led the UED expedition alongside Alexis Stukov into the Koprulu Sector. Their mission? To dominate all Terrans, eliminate the Zerg and Protoss, and claim the sector for Earth. In the end, he was destroyed by the alliance of Protoss, Zerg, and the Dominion.

"System, what the hell is this? Why did you summon Gerard DuGalle? Isn't he a villain in the game?"

"Host, please don't worry. All personnel summoned via this system are guaranteed 100% loyal to you—no exceptions. Even if they were antagonists in their original stories, they are devoted to you as the system's owner."

"Hmph... Are you sure?"

"Absolutely, host. Even notoriously stubborn figures from Warhammer remain loyal—such as Lord Creed, who now follows your orders without question."

Reuel gave a small nod. Alright, at least that answer was reassuring.

"Admiral Gerard DuGalle, dispatch a shuttle to pick me up."

"At once, Your Imperial Majesty."

"Red Queen, make sure the Planetary Defense Department and the Cadia Shock Troopers understand that this isn't a threat. I don't want anyone accidentally shooting them down."

"I've transmitted the IFF—Identification Friend or Foe—signal to all planetary defense networks. They'll recognize the craft as friendly."

Red Queen replied calmly.

Reuel nodded. A flicker of excitement stirred in his chest.

He rose from his chair.

At the headquarters of the Planetary Defense Department, the radar operators monitored their screens as an unidentified starfighter began descending from Earth's orbit.

Their systems flagged it as a friendly, but all flight logs showed no launches that night. Besides, the craft's origin was clearly from space.

It couldn't possibly be from Umbrella. This planet was still in the second millennium.

An operator quickly contacted Major Hellsker, commander of the Cadia Shock Troopers, to verify if the starfighter was truly an ally.

Gorgon-Class Battlecruiser

Terran Battlecruiser – Overview

The battlecruiser is a class of ground-deployed warship utilized by Terran forces across the Koprulu Sector. First introduced during the era of the Terran Confederacy, battlecruisers have since evolved into the backbone of Terran space operations, particularly during the Guild Wars, where large-scale conflicts shifted decisively into space.

There are several known battlecruiser classes, but they all share key traits: equipped with laser weaponry and protected by neosteel-reinforced plating. Their primary armament consists of twin laser cannon batteries positioned throughout the ship's hull, designed for both aerial combat and ground bombardment. While their air-to-air capabilities are not as powerful as their ground-attack systems, advanced optics and targeting sensors ensure effectiveness against fast-moving targets. The ground-assault weapons utilize electromagnetic coils to enhance their firepower potential.

Despite the development of lighter anti-capital craft such as the Wraith, battlecruisers remain irreplaceable. These massive ships adapted by deploying onboard strike craft, enhancing their versatility. During prolonged campaigns, they serve as both all-purpose warships and mobile command centers.

All battlecruisers are equipped with gravity accelerators and warp drives for faster-than-light travel. Some units feature secondary short-range warp drives, functioning as emergency backups—particularly for blind jumps, a high-risk maneuver used to escape hostile sectors. The reduced range helps prevent ships from being stranded for years in uncharted space.

Though designed for space operations, battlecruisers are fully capable of atmospheric flight using anti-gravity systems. Energy-based shielding is available for critical phases such as warp emergence or orbital insertion. Due to their high energy demands, these shields are only activated during moments of vulnerability. In standard operations, battlecruisers rely on their heavy armor plating for protection.

Each battlecruiser supports between 4,000 and 7,000 personnel, operating as self-sufficient cities in deep space. Alongside standard military infrastructure, these vessels feature onboard bars, recreation decks, and other amenities necessary for long-term deployment. In emergencies, the crew can be evacuated via jump-pods—survival capsules capable of sustaining life in space for several days.

Given their scale and firepower, battlecruisers are often referred to simply as "warships."

Gorgon-Class Battlecruiser

The Gorgon-class battlecruiser stands as the most powerful capital ship ever fielded by the Terrans in the Koprulu Sector, surpassing even the Behemoth-class in size and strength. These vessels house extensive command decks, advanced systems, and vast crew accommodations, including lounges, recreational facilities, and large-scale logistics bays.

Outfitted with thousands of optical sensors and multiple heavy laser batteries, a Gorgon-class ship can carry between 6,000 and 8,000 crew. Its hull integrity allows it to withstand several direct hits from a Yamato cannon—something few other vessels can claim.

The most iconic example is the Bucephalus, which was outfitted as a carrier in 2503 and staffed with 8,239 crew members.
