Chapter 54: Chapter 054 - Expedition Kimetsu no Yaiba
Resident Evil – Terra Aeterna
At present, the Tech-Priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus are toiling relentlessly to establish the foundational groundwork for the Imperial Palace. Unlike the Warhammer universe, the world of Resident Evil holds no ruins from the Dark Age of Technology—let alone any pre-Imperial foundations that reach deep into the planet's mantle.
Thus, construction must begin from zero—from barren soil, from the planet's virgin crust. Colossal towers are being erected, reaching up to pierce the atmosphere, replacing the once-iconic vertical complexes of Holy Terra.
These megastrata structures follow the natural contours of the planet: hills, valleys, and mountains form the primary construction lines. The system is divided into modular zones, each built on separate foundations, like continental clusters connected both structurally and energetically.
The Himalayan Mountains were chosen as the backbone of the entire construction—an area where gravitational pressure and structural stress converge. Mountains, plateaus, and stabilized crusts are used as primary technical anchors—so that the palace is not merely built upon the planet's surface, but fused with its very heart.
The primary materials—adamantium and plasteel—are used in vast quantities. Some segments of the palace even float, supported by:
anti-gravitational fields,
void shields countering vertical stress,
and force columns—restored relics from the Golden Age of Technology.
The Imperial Palace is not built as a single monolith, but consists of hundreds of millions of modular units, interconnected both functionally and symbolically. Each unit contains its own support systems, energy distribution networks, and administrative functions.
Its sheer scale borders on the incomprehensible: Reuel envisions it spanning 83.63 million square kilometers—encompassing the entirety of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
---
The City Beneath the Throne
In parallel with the palace's construction, Reuel also designed a grand city to stand beneath the Imperial Palace—a civilizational project no less ambitious. The initial blueprint was transcribed into sacred schematics, then handed over to the Universal Bulin to be materialized into physical mockups. Eventually, the Tech-Priests of the Mechanicus will sanctify and refine it with their sacred technologies.
The architecture of this city is a cross-universal fusion—Reuel deliberately incorporated influences from various human factions across different worlds, shaping it into a megastructural mosaic reflecting the philosophical diversity of mankind.
From Warhammer 40K, came brutal gothic cathedrals adorned with skulls and ecclesiastical sigils.
From Star Wars, emerged neoclassical lines, art deco patterns, and organic forms akin to Otoh Gunga, standing side by side with the industrial brutalism of the Death Star.
StarCraft contributed a utilitarian style: functional, modular, unornamented—built for production and military efficiency.
HALO added retrofuturistic elements: military citadels forged from dull metals and industrial panels.
From Gundam, geometric modular patterns were drawn, inspired by Japanese industrial design and orbital colonies.
Mass Effect brought luminous elegance, soft symmetry, and polished diplomatic spaces.
And Stellaris offered a cosmic whisper: minimalist geometries that feel alien, as though born from a post-singularity civilization.
These styles are not randomly merged, but distributed into thematic sectors: military zones, aristocratic quarters, administrative nexuses, diplomatic courts, and multi-tiered civilian habitats.
This city will house high-ranking nobles, families of officers, Navigators, Imperial sociologists, and select humans drawn from thousands of worlds under the Imperium's reign. It is not merely a habitation—but a living reflection of human civilization in all its forms, diversity, and unshakable belief in mankind's divine supremacy.
This structure blankets the entire surface of Terra Aeterna—from Europe to the Americas, from the deserts of Africa to the tundras of Antarctica. It is no longer a city—it has become a unified global civilization.
Reuel himself does not know when the capital of Terra Aeterna will be completed. All he can do is wait, watching from afar, as mankind erects its destiny upon this new world.

Gundam Technology Integration and the Armada Transformation Project
On Mars, the Tech-Priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus are rigorously studying and analyzing the technology tree from the Gundam universe. Their objective is clear: to integrate that technology into the military might of the Imperium of Man.
Akashi—an eccentric, self-taught engineering genius—has been granted full authority to design a personal Gundam for Reuel. He is also tasked with modifying the ship girls using combined technologies from Warhammer, StarCraft, and Gundam. It is his responsibility to determine which systems are compatible with each girl's physical structure and combat function.
But Akashi's ambitions go far beyond that.
He intends to transform the ship girls into true interstellar warships—a painstakingly complex process requiring extensive testing, experimentation, and calibration.
After all, he refuses to lose out to the Tech-Priests. What, the girls are only good for sailing on the sea? Fuck that. Akashi wants them flying through space—reborn as orbital assault armadas, no less savage than any Mechanicus fleet.

Weapons Evaluation and Mecha Design
Regarding the weaponry for Reuel's Gundam, the evaluation criteria were deceptively simple but brutally effective:
A weapon that can hit the Sirens is a good weapon.
And the best among good weapons is—one that can neutralize high-ranking Sirens.
If it can't even slice through a Siren cruiser, then the weapon has no practical value.
Unfortunately, the ship girls have so far been unable to utilize weaponry from the Warhammer or StarCraft universes. Akashi still doesn't fully understand the operating principles or technological structures of those two worlds. But the learning process is ongoing—and, as usual, Akashi prefers hands-on trials over reading manuals.
Some ship girls stationed at Minato harbor have even begun actively seeking out Siren confrontations—solely to test the effectiveness of these experimental weapons under real combat conditions.
All data from the weapons and test results are compiled and transmitted. These reports not only help improve Minato's weapons systems in the future but also serve as vital technical references for Akashi when deciding what accessories and modules should be installed on the mecha units assigned to escort Reuel.
From time to time, Reuel himself visits Akashi's studio to check on the progress. But every time he comes, he ends up furrowing his brow at the absurd designs scattered across the worktables.
A battleship-caliber particle cannon.
A forty-meter beam saber.
Jet thrusters that look like they could blow up the atmosphere.
Reuel couldn't help but wonder: what the hell is this mad maintenance girl actually trying to build?

The Capital Construction Begins
Meanwhile, the construction of Terra Aeterna's capital city has officially begun. Empty land is now marked with white and yellow signposts; route lines are drawn with mathematical precision. Industrial, agricultural, and residential zones have been neatly divided according to the sacred planning blueprints laid out by the Tech-Priests.
The Bulin and their tiny yellow-chicken allies, the Manjuu, work tirelessly—building the city from scratch, starting with the industrial zones. Light machinery and heavy equipment are operated by these odd little creatures with a strange but effective efficiency.
In the sky, surveillance drones hum occasionally—signs of active reconstruction. These drones belong to the ship girls, launched from their carrier vessels to help pinpoint construction coordinates agreed upon with the Tech-Priests.
"No. 0795 Bulin, your line is crooked!"
"That's the city's main road! If you misalign it, it'll drive people insane!!"
Keiwei shouted over the loudspeaker from a distance, sounding very much like a foreman on a massive construction site.
"Bulin?!"
Bulin jumped when her name was called and immediately corrected her route in a hurry.
"Building a city from scratch is a total pain… But why do I have to work like some kind of civil contractor?!"
Keiwei muttered under her breath as she continued patrolling the site, observing the project's progress.
From above, the early form of the subterranean city was beginning to take shape. Its urban center was modeled on the rectangular grid layout typical of Warhammer cities, symmetrically built along a central axis, with a total planned area of over 2 million square kilometers.
However, due to resource distribution still being incomplete, most new buildings were just hollow frameworks. The interiors hadn't been fitted yet—still waiting for allocations from central command, or assistance from the harbor girls.
After all, most of them were still living at Golden Bay harbor, so there was no pressing need to relocate permanently—yet.
---
Agricultural and Military Zones
Beyond the city limits, in the agricultural zones, the Manjuu began operating special tractors to till the land. Thanks to the hard work of sisters Akagi and Kaga, the Manjuu had now mastered basic farming techniques—a massive leap forward that nearly elevated the entire agricultural standard of the Imperium of Man across the Aegis sector colonies.
Most Manjuu have already been dispatched to specialized farming worlds, expanding the food supply base needed to support the Imperium's ever-growing expansion.
Meanwhile, in the military zone, the silhouettes of a dedicated airbase and multiple starfighter platforms had begun to emerge. Transport terminals, launch runways, and unloading docks were all being designed to accommodate full-scale interstellar military operations.
Those who witnessed this construction from afar could not help but be awestruck.
The very thought of what Terra Aeterna's capital might become when fully completed—
was enough to silence anyone who ever doubted the future of humanity.
Several days had passed.
At the top floor of the temporary Golden Gothic Palace, serving as the administrative command center of the Imperium of Man, Reuel reclined in his chair after completing a stack of administrative tasks.
He projected a superdimensional star map into the air, holographic light dancing slowly around him. Reuel cherished moments like this—when there was no sound except the soft hum of the system, and he could gaze upon the universe in peace. It felt like truly being among the stars.
Unfortunately, work hadn't yet given him much room to maneuver freely. He still hadn't visited the colonial planets scattered across various sectors. Everything was still in a phase of construction and consolidation.
Five active universes remained under surveillance:
Demon Slayer
Avatar 2: Eywa
Lin Cage
Highschool of the Dead
And one unnamed world, marked simply as "?????"—chaotic, unidentifiable.
"Hmm…"
"Should I try establishing contact with another world now?"
The cooldown on his dimensional channeling ability was nearly over. Reuel weighed his options. After all, meaningful communication could only happen if physical contact between worlds was possible. Without that, everything felt hollow—like arguing over a holographic screen with no end and no substance.
"Zombie apocalypse again? Highschool of the Dead, huh?"
"By the way... does Saeko Busujima exist there?"
He chuckled faintly.
"But wait... wasn't Highschool of the Dead set in the nuclear-era 2000s? That should still be in the second millennium, no?"
As he mused, something caught his attention. On the map, a large exclamation mark was blinking rapidly in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba region—and in the region marked World of War.
"What's this?"
Reuel reached out, and a system voice appeared:
"Host has completed the initial mission and unlocked the Multiverse World Mission function."
"Several universes will update world quests periodically. Completing them can grant unique technologies and world-level wonders as rewards."
"If the host wishes to conquer the world directly, that is also permitted."
"…Huh?"
World quests?
He was instantly reminded of old games he once played, where every NPC had either an exclamation mark or question mark floating above their heads. That could mean only one thing: quests awaited.
Reuel became suspicious. Was there a war breaking out there? And could he rack up war points by joining in directly?
Just walking casually through the main city would be enough to trigger 800 missions.
"Eh, but I already have one similar world… that strange universe. The one marked as ?????. Extremely suspicious."
At least for now, he didn't have too many neighbors. And there was only one big question mark across the entire display.
On the bright side: this system wasn't overly restrictive.
You could take quests if you wanted. If not, just ignore them. Not like some other world-systems that abduct players into foreign universes and hold them hostage until a quest is completed—or force you to conquer the entire world as an 'alternative solution.'
Reuel finally opened the mission list.
[Confront the Ancient Threat]
Even the title was enough to give him a headache. Problems like these usually couldn't be solved with a single approach. It was hard to even say whether they could be resolved now… or even in the past.
"…Oh, for heaven's sake."
Reuel clicked on the mission from the world of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba once more.
World Mission: Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba
Mission Objectives:
1. Eliminate all members of the Twelve Kizuki (Demon Moons).
2. Eradicate the "demon" threat entirely from this world.
Mission Rewards:
1. Sun & Moon Breathing Techniques
2. Blood Demon Art: Dance of the Ghost Kekkijutsu
"….."
"….."
To be perfectly honest, Reuel wasn't particularly excited about the breathing techniques or demonic blood arts from the Demon Slayer world. The upper limits of that universe's power were simply too low by the standards of his Imperium.
Physical prowess?
They were still ordinary humans. Could their bodies even compare to an unmodified Astartes recruit? Let alone the ship-girls who had consumed Mind Cubes and become walking weapons?
Combat power?
Don't make him laugh. Even first-generation Gundams were under construction now. Even if one of the Hashira stood perfectly still and was allowed to strike freely, they wouldn't be able to scratch the first layer of an anti-particle shield.
Not to mention the Imperial Guard, the armored tanks, or the orbital warships under his command.
The vampire-based abilities used by the demons were indeed unique—but structurally flawed. The genetic mutations were unstable, and in the end, users would inevitably devolve into ghosts or insane creatures. Long-term viability? Not worth the risk.
There were countless other universes that offered far more advanced technology and power than mere sword dances and mystical breathing patterns.
But that didn't mean everything was useless.
What really caught Reuel's attention wasn't their fighting techniques—but their population.
The breathing styles and blood arts could be archived or repurposed as basic civilian training modules for the Imperium of Man—for those who weren't yet eligible or ready for genetic enhancement. Who knows? One day, those techniques might contribute to Astartes development or be incorporated into other training regimens.
Granted, Reuel didn't yet have his own Astartes legion—not yet. But with the recruitment and production modules slated to activate soon, it was merely a matter of time.
Meanwhile, he faced a far more practical problem: a shortage of resources and manpower.
Constructing a single Gundam already consumed an absurd amount of metal and energy. That wasn't even counting the costs of building cities, farms, or light industry on barely habitable colony planets.
All things considered, the Demon Slayer world may be low in combat potential, but...
Its production capacity was promising.
Its population was stable.
Its technology was primitive.
In other words: ideal for subjugation—as a vassal state under the Imperium of Man.
And if they refused?
Reuel only needed to drop one nuclear warhead to turn their capital city into the most extravagant fireworks display in the history of steam-powered civilization.
Besides, this would be an excellent opportunity for the ship-girls to visit another world—to broaden their horizons, to study multiversal civilizations in all their varied forms.
With a snap of his fingers, the soft chime of the internal comm system came to life.
"Richelieu. Summon all units."
"Prepare the troops."
"We're launching an expedition."
