In DxD: Reborn As a Gamer

Chapter 9: Chapter 8: The Morningstar Invitation!

In his world, Tsuki could only be described as a genius, self taught, highly perceptive, terrifyingly intelligent, and knowledgeable. But to the devils, it was only expected of him, and that only made him wonder how Rias ended up how she did.

Tsuki practically lived in the library until... he discovered his powers. Immediately, his father changed and tried to encourage him to train.

His older brother had shot Tsuki with a hatred-filled glare then. And Tsuki was better off for it, because the original Tsuki wanted nothing to do with him as it meant that he wouldn't be bothered or disturbed in the library.

Just... silence.

In a way, I knew how Tsuki felt... Well, I am Tsuki now, but I knew what he had felt.

Shunned, ignored, left all alone because of my lack of talent compared to my family. Meanwhile, Tsuki was shunned for his mother's death. Two situations that we both couldn't change...

But now I've gained a chance to change all of that...

"Stats, put 25 points into wisdom"

Kind of 'unwise' isn't it? You should save them up until your level becomes too hard to increase or some boss fights.

There's no point in holding off on using them if I won't get the chance to grind at all; showcasing the power to rip apart dimensions would lead to questions and with the Power of DreamI'm afraid the entire gamer system will be revealed.

I've got to remember that while I hold the most powerful clan magic in the underworld, so does another far more experienced and older devil; even if he became an ally, the Gamer System is something I am going to bury to the grave with me.

Ugh, I don't want to be buried with you.

Neither do I.

As I place all my stat points into Wisdom, my eyes widen. Every feature before my eyes expanded, every little memory grew clearer, it felt as if the previous task of dwelling into the memories of Tsuki was trivial and mundane; every little detail of his life seemed to be in front of me.

Am I stupid?

Yes.

Ignoring the sass from the robotic voice, I groan, I could've stayed in my room and used ID Create immediately to give the facade I was gone or somewhere deep in the library where no sensory magic is or whatever this household has.

While it would've been risky, I could've at least gained a solid grasp of the potential of the Power of Dream.

The ID could've given me time to grind till I reached a point in which I don't have to worry about my mind being picked on for information.

And what do I mean Observeisn't worth leveling up?! It was one of the classic skills for a reason, it was one that could assess every situation, give deep info on anyone and everything; if I bothered to level it up I could find a possible trace of any security and avoid them.

And the fact I could've used the monocle in the first place, how did I forget that?!

WOW, you fucked up a lot of times.

For the first and hopefully only time, I agree.

But now wasn't the time to mope around, my chance to pull out the monocle is long gone. Hell, I don't even know the aspects of my inventory, so then how could I get out of here to grind without drawing suspicion?

The Satanachia estate consisted of seven lavish bed chambers, a storage area, an armory, a great vault, a grand dining hall, several generously-sized guest rooms, and a lot more to offer but what I was focused on was the fact that it had over ten thousand acres of land.

Disappearing seemingly out of nowhere would draw attention, but disappearing in that much land? It would take time to inspect every single acre of land in a single day and even then they can't expect me to not move.

I frown.

And from my memory, there was only one use for that area and one person who needs to be dealt with.

….

Admittedly, he should've treated Tsuki better, he should've known that his wife would give birth to the only other user of the Power of Dream; if he had so he could've had Tsuki training ages ago and take his rightful place as heir, and that would've been only the first step.

Scrutinizing the letter he held in his grasp; his lips thinned out and soon curled into a light frown, he was hoping he could cling onto what little time he had hoped he would have but sadly he was mistaken.

Eyeing the majestic and rich silver wax seal; he knew he couldn't keep the matter of his son concealed any longer.

The contents of the letter was basically an invitation given to all high ranking houses, which included the Six houses of Lucifer.

It was to demonstrate a show of power, every significant figure in the underworld attending a ball hosted by the Descendants of the Original Satans.

It was honestly insignificant and not noteworthy, but the event also had other reasons for its existence.

While it was indeed a show of power by the Six Houses and the Descendents, it was also a chance for negotiations to spring about and for dormant stars to finally shine; which was due to the other reason.

The Morningstar Auction that comes every decade -due to circumstances it had to be postponed until now- it gave geniuses a time to shine as they present their creations and sell them off to the highest bidder, some even get hired if they're from a small family or an alliance is formed.

Of course, there's one final affair that happens in the end.
