Otto Apocryphos.
The Archbishop of Schicksal at Honkai High School.
Upon seeing the blonde man carrying a coffin on his back, Bochang instinctively recalled this name.
Welt Yang's tense posture further confirmed Bochang's suspicion.
However...
Otto from Honkai Impact 3rd is already deceased.
There was no way the person before them could be that Archbishop.
"Luocha... It seems they directly borrowed Otto's character model, similar to Li Sushang, Bronya, and Cocolia... Essentially, parallel universe counterparts..."
As Bochang muttered internally,
Welt Yang's expression shifted slightly, taking half a step backward while warily eyeing Luocha.
In the storyline of Honkai Impact 3rd, Uncle Yang harbored an irreconcilable enmity towards Otto.
This explained why Welt Yang reacted so strongly upon seeing Luocha.
Although he knew it couldn't possibly be Otto,
...the sight of that familiar face unsettled him deeply. The psychological trauma inflicted by Otto was immense; both his father and the hero in his heart were killed by this man.
Everyone noticed this exchange.
"What's wrong, Uncle Yang?" March 7th had never seen Welt Yang act like this before.
Regardless of how significant the situation, Welt Yang would typically remain composed, calmly adjust his black-rimmed glasses, and step forward. Seeing him take a half-step backward, as he did today, was truly rare.
Unaware of the reason behind Welt Yang's reaction, the stoic little azure dragon quickly clarified, "Mr. Welt, Luocha is a friend I encountered on my journey. He's just a traveling merchant, not an enemy."
Due to Welt's action, sensing hostility, Luocha halted and did not advance further.
Confused, Sushang approached the blond man and whispered, "Eh... Luocha, do you have some past conflict with him? Why does he react so strongly upon seeing you?"
"Honestly... Did you perhaps swindle him during your days as a merchant?" Sushang's quiet murmur was clearly heard by Bochang.
He began scrutinizing her closely.
The Sushang before him bore an uncanny resemblance to Li Sushang from the era of Records of Broken Swords. Her dark brown hair was styled into two long braided ponytails. The main color of her attire was yellow.
Sushang's clothing differed significantly from that of ordinary Cloud Knights, and she carried a large golden sword on her back—the Xuanyuan Sword.
Of course... compared to Bochang's cybernetic flying sword, Sushang's Xuanyuan Sword seemed somewhat smaller.
Compared to Bochang's cybernetic flying sword, Sushang's Xuanyuan Sword seemed slightly smaller.
Luocha shook his head, "No... I don't know him."
"Luocha..." Welt Yang furrowed his brows, pushed up his black-framed glasses, and tightened his grip on the walking cane. "Apologies, but seeing you just now reminded me of someone from my past..."
"So it caused a bit of a reaction."
"Yes... I assure you, I bear no ill intent towards you."
Welt Yang had already learned about Luocha through the information shared by Dan Heng.
However...
It was truly unexpected.
Luocha bore an uncanny resemblance to that predestined Archbishop.
The fact that Welt Yang didn't immediately attack upon seeing him demonstrated considerable restraint.
"Oh... so it was just a misunderstanding then... That's good."
Sushang scratched her head, feeling puzzled.
For some reason, Bochang sensed a gullible aura emanating from this Sushang.
As Welt explained further, the atmosphere began to ease.
Luocha asked, "Is that so? It's quite intriguing. Could you elaborate more, sir?"
The mere sight of him had triggered such a defensive response; Luocha couldn't help but be curious. It was akin to someone suddenly claiming they knew another person who looked just like you, and seemingly harbored animosity towards them.
"No... there's no need for that." Welt shook his head, declining the request. He had no intention of sharing his past with others, not even the members of the Astral Express Crew, who remained largely unaware of Uncle Yang's history.
Except for Bochang, as a transmigrator, he indeed knew more about Welt's background than anyone else.
Seeing this...
Luocha didn't press further, saying, "Understood, then. Miss Sushang, I'd like to take a walk over there. I'll come back later."
Luocha turned to glance at Sushang briefly. Despite Welt's assurance that he held no ill intent,
he could still sense a subtle wariness from her, which naturally dampened any desire to linger longer. There seemed little point in being a third wheel.
However...
Despite the subtle air of caution from Li Sushang that Luocha could still sense, he naturally had no desire to linger any longer. Being a third wheel served no purpose.
"Ah? Leaving already? Now that the misunderstanding is cleared up, can't we all sit down and have a proper conversation?" Li Sushang seemed completely oblivious to the atmosphere, continuing to persuade Luocha.
The merchant carrying the coffin silently shook his head, showing no intention of staying.
After being rebuffed, Sushang didn't press further. She merely waved goodbye, mentioning they would see each other later.
Once Luocha was out of sight, Welt Yang relaxed his guard. Now, everyone felt free to speak openly.
"Uncle Yang, you overreacted; you scared away Dan Heng's friend," March 7th remarked.
"There must be a deeper reason for Uncle Yang's actions," Bochang chimed in supportively.
Echoing him, Stelle repeated, "There must be a deeper reason."
"Don't just parrot others!" March 7th looked at Stelle with exasperation.
After a long pause...
Stelle once again played the role of a broken record. The gray-haired girl, despite being gently mocked, only responded with a polite smile.
"Luocha has already left. Mr. Welt, could you discuss what happened earlier?" Serval couldn't resist asking.
Not just Luocha, but everyone from the Astral Express was equally curious about the story behind those events.
Upon hearing this,
Sushang, who hadn't followed and remained nearby, also perked up her ears attentively.
All eyes focused on Welt Yang.
Taking a deep breath, Welt Yang said, "I simply mistook someone for another, but... my intuition tells me that there might be something off about this Mr. Luocha."
"Intuition... do you mean some mystical sixth sense?"
March 7th placed one hand on her hip.
Tingyun, Qingque, and Bailu listened silently to the conversation, with no intention of interjecting.
Welt Yang did not respond immediately.
Dan Heng pondered for a moment before shaking his head. "Throughout our journey, I've mostly been traveling alongside Luocha... I didn't notice anything suspicious about him. On this point... Miss Sushang can attest as well."
"Yes, yes, that's right. Men Lu, Luocha, and I all helped each other along the journey. I don't think there's anything suspicious about him," Sushang nodded repeatedly.
However, March 7th's focus was on something else at that moment.
"Miss... Sushang, why do you call Dan Heng 'Men Lu' or 'Mute Gourd'?"
"Because he hardly spoke throughout the entire trip." Sushang turned to glance at the stoic little azure dragon. "Only when we reached here did he start talking slightly more."
Dan Heng disliked conversation and tended not to socialize with others—a consensus among the Astral Express Crew.
March 7th murmured, "Come to think of it, the nickname 'Mute Gourd' does fit him quite well."
Dan Heng remained silent, expressionless.
