Chapter 209: Encountering Protagonist

"Hmm, let's find a hotel then," Mo Luochen said as the two of them wandered from one hotel to another—only to be met with the same result: all were fully booked.

"Why are all the hotels full?" Renxue asked, frowning slightly.

Mo Luochen glanced around and replied, "Soto City must be hosting a major event. Could be a Great Spirit Arena tournament." As they walked further, his eyes landed on a flickering neon sign that read Love Hotel. Just then, he heard muffled sounds and rhythmic thumping from inside.

'I guess this is the same street where that perverted tiger fought the hypocrite san,' he thought, recalling the infamous battle between Dai Mubai and Tang San.

"Hmm, there might be room available here. Let's check inside," Renxue said and led the way.

Inside, they were greeted by a staff member and spotted two other teens—one had golden hair and double pupils, unmistakably Dai Mubai. The other boy, whose face was twisted in frustration, had lost in some game.

"Ugh, take the room. I'm not in the mood anymore," Dai Mubai muttered.

Mo Luochen raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Were you fighting for a room?"

Dai Mubai didn't answer, but when he glanced at Renxue, his expression changed. His mouth opened slightly in surprise before he muttered, "Damn, what a beauty!"

He asked Mo Luochen, "Kid, what's your name?"

"Mo Luochen," he said calmly. "I want that room. Lest fight for it."

Dai Mubai scoffed. "So you're another arrogant bastard. Very well. Let's fight for it. But if I win, those two beauties comes with me—no complaints." He said poiting at Qian Renxue and Huo Xue, who sneered at him as if looking at an clown, while Luochen looked at him as if looking at an dead person.

He cracked his neck, stepping forward. But before he could strike, Mo Luochen raised his hand—and in a blink, grabbed Dai Mubai by the collar and slammed him into the floor mid-air with thunderous force.

Tang San at side had his eyes widened as even with his Purple Demon Eye he wasn't able to see how Luochen moved, he unconsciously got alert.

"Do you think you can just take my woman?" Mo Luochen asked coldly.

Dai Mubai groaned, nose bloodied, cheek swelling. "F-Fuck… who is this guy? He's the same age as that Blue Silver bastard… but I didn't even see him move…"

By now, Dai Mubai couldn't get up. Mo Luochen stood over him calmly.

"I win," Mo Luochen said simply, brushing invisible dust off his shoulder. The receptionist, stunned but quick to respond, handed him the room key with trembling hands.

"Let's go," he said, turning casually.

Qian Renxue and Felicia followed him without hesitation. As they walked past, Tang San spoke up.

"Did you really have to be that heavy-handed?" he asked, stepping in front of Mo Luochen.

"It was just a simple scuffle, but you broke his nose and several of his ribs."

Mo Luochen glanced at him, expression calm. "He's lucky I didn't make him permanently disabled."

He kept walking, unbothered, while Tang San frowned but said nothing more.

Xiao Wu walked up beside Tang San and looked at the fallen Dai Mubai with a sigh.

"Brother, why are you helping that pervert? Let's just go find a hotel ourselves," she said, clearly annoyed.

Tang San nodded. "He's from Shrek Academy. He might even be one of our seniors. We should help him—for now."

Xiao Wu didn't like Dai Mubai, but for Tang San's sake, she agreed. With a bit of effort, the two of them carried Dai Mubai toward the nearest hospital.

Meanwhile, back in the hotel room, Mo Luochen was lying on the bed, trying to sleep. On one side, his head was resting on Qian Renxue's lap, while on the other, Felicia had sprawled out, her hand resting possessively on his chest.

"You two... I can't sleep like this," he muttered, opening one eye. "Can't you both calm down and stop clinging to me every second?"

But neither of them answered. Instead, they snuggled closer, smirking slightly. He sighed, gave up, and closed his eyes again.

Though he tried to drift off, it wasn't easy. Their soft breathing, warm presence, and the occasional brush of their hands over his body made it impossible to truly relax.

At some point, Qian Renxue gently took his hand and held it over her chest, whispering something in her sleep, while Felicia had curled up on his other side, her arm thrown across his torso.

It was a long night.

He almost slept.

The next morning, Mo Luochen woke up. Though physically well-rested, he knew if he were an ordinary human, he'd be rising with sore limbs and a pounding head from the night before.

He stretched lazily and muttered, "Let's go and see the academy." His voice was slightly hoarse as he got up, eyes still drowsy.

"We're heading toward the far end of the city—to that village near the southern road," Felicia said, yawning as she led the way, still half-asleep. Mo Luochen nodded, following behind. Along the way, they saw a long line of hopeful students standing before an elder in gray robes who seemed to be checking applicants' details.

"Pay the fee," the elder said coldly, holding out his hand.

The boys parents handed over ten gold coins without argument. As the old man accepted the coins, the boy stepped forward to be tested. He had white hair, pale skin, and striking green eyes. His robes were plain, with a subtle emerald trim, and a green crystal ring gleamed faintly on his hand.

"Wind Spirit Eagle. Level 21. Two yellow spirit rings—perfect configuration," the old man announced with a smile as he examined the boy.

But then his smile faded. He glanced at the registration scroll again and frowned.

"Age thirteen... alas, not qualified," he said, his voice turning flat. "Next."

The boy stiffened, his hopeful expression collapsing into disbelief. A green-eyed man, likely his father, stepped forward, clearly upset.

"What is the meaning of this?" the man demanded. "My son has a perfect spirit ring configuration—why is he suddenly disqualified?"
