In Naruto, the System Asks Me to Entrust Pokémon

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: The Pokémon Egg Hatches

"Kiba!"

Yuhi Kurenai's expression turned slightly awkward, and she scolded Kiba gently but sternly.

After learning about Pokémon from Naruto and the others, Kakashi had returned to the training grounds, gaining a deeper understanding of these creatures.

Creatures with infinite potential and extreme rarity—how could they be so easily obtained?

While the purpose of this visit was indeed to acquire a Pokémon, asking for one so directly was a bit too much.

"Alright, I get it," Kiba said sheepishly, realizing his mistake. He quietly stepped back.

Cough, cough.

Ryo cleared his throat, his expression calm as he spoke, "You're here for Pokémon, right? Follow me."

While his face remained indifferent, his heart was filled with joy.

Another set of customers! More stable points!

Yuhi Kurenai stood in place, slightly stunned. She stared at Ryo, feeling somewhat bewildered.

Could it really be this easy to get a Pokémon? Based on Kakashi's description, these creatures were far superior to the contract beasts from the Three Great Sage Lands. Why would he agree so casually?

"Great! Thank you, boss!"

Kiba didn't overthink it. His excitement soared as soon as he heard Ryo's response.

Shino and Hinata remained quiet and reserved, showing little reaction.

"Boss, are you sure?"

Yuhi Kurenai finally found her voice, looking at Ryo with uncertainty.

Ryo nodded. "Yes. It's not as hard to get a Pokémon here as you might think. As long as both parties are willing, that's all that matters."

"Then, thank you in advance, boss," Yuhi Kurenai said, nodding in understanding.

Ryo didn't waste any more words and turned to lead them to the backyard.

Creak… Creak…

Suddenly, a noise interrupted their steps.

Everyone turned toward the sound.

Ryo paused and looked in the direction of the noise.

It was coming from the large Pokémon egg incubator he had set up earlier.

The egg inside had started cracking, with the cracks rapidly expanding.

"It's hatching?"

Ryo's eyes lit up with excitement as he quickly walked over.

The egg he had placed in the incubator yesterday was already hatching. He hadn't expected it to happen so soon.

His heart filled with anticipation.

Since this egg hadn't been analyzed, he had no idea what kind of Pokémon it would produce. It was a complete mystery.

Yuhi Kurenai and the others were equally curious and moved closer.

"Boss, what kind of egg is that?"

Kiba couldn't help but ask.

Hearing this, Yuhi Kurenai, Hinata, and Shino also looked at Ryo with curiosity.

Ryo's expression intrigued them. In their minds, Ryo was a mysterious individual, but this time, he seemed genuinely excited.

"This is a Pokémon egg. It's about to hatch."

They stared at him in disbelief, wondering if they had misheard.

"Boss, you mean it's like Bulbasaur and Charmander?" Yuhi Kurenai asked hesitantly.

Ryo nodded. "Yes, but I have no idea what kind of Pokémon it will be, not even its type."

"Really?" Yuhi Kurenai frowned slightly. "There are many kinds of Pokémon, and they all hatch from eggs?"

Ryo paused for a moment before nodding. "Yes. There are over 900 species that I know of, and every one of them hatches from an egg."

The group was stunned, standing frozen in place.

Pokémon were already incredibly powerful, but the sheer number was even more shocking.

Over 900 species—not just individual Pokémon, but species.

Even if they combined every species in the ninja world, they wouldn't reach that number.

"B-Boss, are you serious?" Yuhi Kurenai stammered, struggling to process the information.

Ryo nodded again. "Yes, there are that many. But they're not quite like what you imagine. Pokémon are very unique creatures. You'll see for yourselves soon."

He smiled but didn't elaborate further.

Although the number of species seemed huge, a large part of it was due to evolution.

It wasn't the right time to explain evolution yet—it would be too unbelievable for them.

Yuhi Kurenai furrowed her brows but didn't press further. It was clear that Ryo didn't intend to continue explaining.

Creak.

At that moment, the egg in the incubator cracked even more, with more than half of the shell now broken.

Suppressing their curiosity, everyone focused on the egg.

Suddenly, the egg trembled violently.

Moments later, a tiny paw broke through the shell, followed by a small white head tilting to the side, blinking curiously at the people around it.

"Eevee?"

Ryo's eyes sparkled with joy as he took a closer look. "It's a Shiny Eevee!"

"Eevee! Eevee!"

Hearing Ryo's voice, the little Eevee turned toward him, its eyes filled with delight as it called out happily.

For some reason, the moment it saw Ryo, it couldn't help but feel joyful and wanted to be close to him.

Ryo couldn't resist and gently picked up the silver-white little cutie.

"Boss, is this Pokémon called Eevee?"

Yuhi Kurenai's eyes sparkled with excitement.

There was no denying it—this Eevee was beyond adorable, even more so than Sakura's Chansey or Kakashi's Pikachu.

It was impossible to resist wanting one.

Even Hinata, usually shy and anxious, smiled softly at the sight of Eevee.

Even Shino, normally indifferent, seemed a bit dazed.

Kiba was the only one whose expression didn't change much.

Ryo nodded. "Yes, this Pokémon is called Eevee."

Just as Ryo finished speaking, a bright light suddenly surrounded the Eevee in his arms.

"What's happening? Boss, is Eevee okay?"

"Yeah, Boss, is Eevee alright?"

Yuhi Kurenai and Hinata couldn't help but worry.

Kiba and Shino didn't speak, but their eyes were filled with concern as they watched.
