Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Gardevoir and Cynthia
"Come out, Gardevoir!"
Ryo threw the Poké Ball in his hand.
As the light flashed, a stunning figure dressed in a skirt appeared in the wooden cabin.
Ryo's eyes were glued to her, his mouth muttering unconsciously, "So… beautiful."
Seeing Gardevoir in real life was far more breathtaking than in the anime.
Her perfect figure and slender waist left Ryo dazed.
No wonder the anime depicted stories of humans marrying Gardevoir.
Previously, he found it impossible—how could a human marry a Pokémon?
No matter how beautiful a Pokémon was, it shouldn't be possible, right?
Now, he understood. Not only was it possible, but it seemed very likely.
Gardevoir looked incredibly human-like, and her appearance matched human aesthetics perfectly.
"M-Master…"
Gardevoir noticed Ryo's expression, her face turning red as she shyly spoke.
Hearing her gentle yet charming voice, Ryo snapped back to reality. His eyes widened in surprise as he looked at Gardevoir. "Wait… you can talk?"
Gardevoir shook her head. "No, Master. I can't speak, but I can communicate through telepathy."
Ryo processed her words and soon a status panel appeared before him.
[Shiny Blue Gardevoir]Gender: FemaleCategory: Embrace PokémonType: Psychic/FairyAbility: Telepathy (Can avoid attacks from allies and enables mental communication.)Level: 80 (Quasi-Elite)Skills: Heal Pulse, Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Moonblast...
Seeing Gardevoir's status panel, Ryo nodded with satisfaction.
"Just as I expected, Gardevoir's ability is Telepathy."
He was quite pleased with this ability. It meant they could communicate without any barriers.
While he already had full intimacy with his Pokémon and could understand what they were saying, it wasn't always clear.
Now, with Gardevoir around, those issues were gone. Gardevoir could translate everything the other Pokémon said.
"But… does Gardevoir have more moves than Dragonite?"
After examining her status, Ryo counted her moves and realized she had more than Dragonite.
"Although she has more moves, most are support or healing abilities. Her offensive moves are fewer than Dragonite's."
Even so, Ryo was satisfied. Gardevoir wasn't purely a fighter—she was more of a support Pokémon.
As long as her battle abilities weren't weak, she didn't need to match Dragonite's offensive power.
"Master, what's wrong?"
Noticing Ryo's fixed gaze, Gardevoir's face turned red again in embarrassment.
"Huh?"
Ryo came back to his senses and quickly shook his head. "Nothing. By the way, you don't need to call me Master. It feels a bit weird."
Although he liked the sound of it, it made him feel like some kind of pervy old man.
"Then… what should I call you?"
Gardevoir looked puzzled.
"Just call me Ryo. Or Little Ryo, if you prefer."
Ryo waved it off casually, not really minding how she addressed him.
Gardevoir smiled sweetly. "Alright, I'll call you Little Ryo from now on."
Ryo chuckled and agreed.
After chatting for a while, Ryo pulled out the summon card.
He mentally communicated with the system. "System, how do I use this summon card?"
"Host, just summon it through the system."
Ryo nodded. "System, summon her now."
Since he had already gone through all the items, it was time to summon Cynthia.
The card in his hand glowed brightly and floated into the air.
The next second, the light expanded downward, illuminating the ground like a spotlight on a stage. However, this light was much brighter than any spotlight.
Strangely enough, despite its intensity, it didn't hurt his eyes. He could stare straight into it without discomfort.
"Little Ryo, be careful!"
Gardevoir quickly moved in front of Ryo, her eyes filled with caution as she stared at the light.
For some reason, the light gave her an overwhelming sense of danger, as if even getting close would be life-threatening.
Ryo felt touched seeing Gardevoir's reaction. He gently patted her shoulder. "Don't worry. This is something I summoned. It won't harm us."
Gardevoir nodded but remained on high alert, staying protectively by Ryo's side.
Ryo noticed her determination but said nothing more. He turned his attention back to the light.
The light gradually dimmed, revealing a tall figure within it.
When the light finally faded, the figure became clear.
Her skin was as fair and smooth as snow, her tall and graceful figure exuding a mature elegance. Despite her cold expression, it didn't give off an unapproachable vibe.
She carried a noble aura, her golden hair cascading down her back like a princess from a fairy tale—an absolute beauty.
However, at that moment, Cynthia's face was filled with confusion. Her elegant eyebrows furrowed slightly, marring her otherwise flawless appearance.
Noticing Ryo and Gardevoir, Cynthia's eyes narrowed as her confusion deepened. "Who are you? Why are you here? And… why am I here?"
Hearing her question, Ryo froze for a moment, momentarily at a loss for words.
Asking why she was here made sense, but asking why he was here seemed… odd.
Who starts a conversation like that?
Sure, he had summoned her, so her question wasn't entirely wrong, but it still felt weird.
Cough—
Ryo cleared his throat. "Well… it's a long story. Let me explain."
Cynthia's brow furrowed slightly, her voice cold. "Then make it short."
Ryo coughed again and began explaining everything to Cynthia—where he came from, what this place was, why he summoned her, and what he needed her help with...
