In One Piece World, My Appearance Is Maxed Out

Chapter 71: My Appearance Is Maxed Out [71]

[50,000 Points Discount Bundle: 60,000 Points]

Type: Loot Box

Description: Upon opening, you'll receive 50,000 points.

Note: Same as above.

"...Where's the discount?"

"—Well, at least you got the joy of opening a box, right?"

"…"

Nao stared in silence for a long moment before closing the panel with a blank expression.

Seriously?

It stirred painful memories from his past life, where he'd thrown cash at loot boxes only to get utterly scammed.

So, in summary—

Out of the six items this week: two were totally unnecessary, one was way out of reach (though undeniably tempting), and the other three were must-haves.

All told, he spent 26,100 points: the sword skill scroll and Haki training boost were used immediately, while the PPAP videotape went straight into his backpack for storage.

[Current Points Remaining: 117,501]

"Looks like I randomly picked up a few thousand more points today…"

He did some rough mental math. "Must've been from that fight with Onigumo earlier. Probably some girls flagged as 'partially seduced' by me."

If he bothered to scroll far enough through the system log, he'd likely find a bunch of notifications.

But honestly, he couldn't be bothered.

This sort of thing was only going to happen more frequently from here on out. At first, the attention had left him a little dazed. Now, he was just getting used to it.

Some things were better left vague—especially as his Charm stat continued to climb.

And, frankly, he had no interest in discovering if any of those "flagged" names had a... questionably masculine vibe.

"Training boost cards stack with Haki training bonuses," Nao mused, clenching his fists.

A deep black mist coiled around them at will, answering his focused intent.

"Even without buffs, my progress was already way faster than normal. With this card, though... these next sixty days are gonna be nuts."

He couldn't guarantee he'd ever see another card like this again. Which meant this window—these two months—was his golden grind period.

If he didn't waste a single moment, he could reach a level of Haki mastery in sixty days that would take most people years.

And if his swordsmanship kept up?

He might not even need the full three-year training course. He could apply for the Final Evaluation ahead of schedule—and graduate early.

"And then there's the new sword technique."

He dismissed the black mist and drew his blades—Wind Blade and Azakana Blade—from his waist.

The latter gleamed blood-red in the moonlight, practically glowing with intensity.

"Even if there's no one to blind, I should at least test its power."

He focused, blades at the ready.

"Dual-Blade Style—Moon Eclipse!"

He usually wasn't one to shout out attack names.

But come on—this was his first flashy special move. Gotta set the mood.

Whummm!

A blinding silver light burst from his blades, radiant as a full moon, illuminating the entire training ground like midday sun.

Within the light, a razor-thin wave of sword energy tore through the air, nearly invisible to the eye as it surged toward the reinforced iron wall ahead.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion ripped through the quiet night.

The iron wall—layered with heavy plating—shattered from the center out, collapsing in all directions with a crash.

Nao flicked his wrist to deflect the flying debris, then nodded in satisfaction at the mangled wreckage.

Even without the blinding effect, the raw power exceeded his expectations.

"More destructive than my regular Armament-infused strikes by at least fifty percent."

He sheathed his swords and walked up to the rubble, scanning the area.

"If I can integrate Haki into this technique... it's gonna hit like a freight train."

If he were to face Sano the "Giant Bear" again, even in full beast mode, one Moon Eclipse might be all it took to one-shot the guy.

"Just thinking about it's got me fired up."

Heart racing, Nao was about to get back to training—first stabilizing his Armament control, then trying to fuse it into Moon Eclipse—when a voice called out from above, laced with playful amusement:

"Been a while, kid. You've gotten even stronger, haven't you?"

It was a soft, lilting voice—like a clear stream running through a forest. Elegant and warm.

And unmistakable.

Nao stiffened, then spun around, eyes wide.

"Rear Admiral Gion?"

There, perched casually atop the training ground wall, was a slender figure—legs crossed, leaning lazily against the parapet.

Nao's face lit up with unrestrained joy.

"Weren't you on deployment in the New World? When did you get back?"

"Yesterday afternoon. The mission went smoothly, so I returned early," Gion replied, her tone languid.

Her eyes twinkled as she smiled down at him.

"What's the matter? You sound surprised. Don't tell me I need to notify you in advance every time I come back to HQ?"

"Of course not," Nao said, straightening up with mock solemnity. "But for a rear admiral to skip rest after a long mission just to come see a humble recruit like me… well, my heart's so full I can barely hold my sword."

"Is that so?" she tilted her head slightly, eyes narrowing as something unreadable flickered across her expression.

It was gone in a heartbeat.

Then she laughed quietly.

"I didn't come here because I missed you or anything," she said with a smirk. "I just happened to run into Momonga and the others during debriefing. And someone let slip that a certain someone made a huge splash yesterday."

"You mean the Onigumo thing?"

Nao scratched his head sheepishly. "Guess word travels fast, huh? But it's no big deal—just a captain. Someday, you'll hear I've beaten a rear admiral or vice admiral."

"I'm a rear admiral," she said, raising a brow. "What, you think you're ready to take me on now?"

"Not yet. But someday? Who knows."

"…Cocky little brat."

She rolled her eyes, then glanced at his bare chest. Her brow creased.

"You're injured."

Nao looked down at the scabbed-over wounds on his torso, a few still bruised and red.

He shrugged. "Just superficial. You know how freakish my healing is. Give it a day or two—I'll be fine."

"Nope. Still affects training."

Gion frowned, then reached behind her—no one knew from where—and pulled out a bundle of ointments and bandages.

She patted the empty space next to her on the wall.

"Come here. I've got medicine. I'll patch you up."

"…Wait a sec," Nao blinked. "Didn't you say you just stopped by on a whim? Why'd you happen to have all that on you?"

So she'd brought medicine with her?

This woman was all kinds of tsundere.

"It's already scabbed over," he tried to argue, lips twitching with smug amusement. "No need to bother, really—"

Snap.

"Quit whining," she interrupted, eyes narrowing. "That's an order. Get over here."

Her voice was sharper than usual—firm and commanding.

For a moment, Nao froze. The look in her eyes sent a chill down his spine.

Then, just as quickly, her tone softened.

"Come," she repeated, smiling gently.

Nao gulped.

"…Yes, ma'am."
