In Order to Live as an Immortal, I changed a martial artist world to a xianxia world

Chapter 25 - The Nine Extremes Genesis Codex!

Chapter 25: The Nine Extremes Genesis Codex!

Seven Heroes Town.

Tongfu Inn.

“Have you heard? Ying Zheng has started cultivating immortality!”

“Of course! They say he summoned heavenly thunder and struck down Donghuang Taiyi!”

“Heavenly thunder—what kind of immortal technique is that? Is Ying Zheng just cultivating, or has he already become an immortal?”

“…”

As Bai Chen stepped into Tongfu Inn, he overheard the animated discussions among the various martial artists gathered there.

How amusing, Bai Chen mused to himself, a faint smile playing at his lips. The news has spread so quickly.

He moved toward an unoccupied table and sat down.

“Hey there! Isn’t this Seven Heroes Town’s very own great benefactor?”

“Brother Bai, what would you like to eat today?”

Spotting him, Bai Zhantang, the innkeeper, approached with a wide grin and an obsequious tone.

“Greetings, Young Master Bai!”

“Good afternoon, Young Master Bai!”

For the past few months, Bai Chen had been aiding the people of Seven Heroes Town and passing martial artists alike. His actions had earned him the title of the town’s “Great Benefactor.”

Few understood his motivations, but his reputation was undisputed. Respect for him stemmed not only from his good deeds but also from a single, unintentional display of his power.

When Bai Chen accidentally released his aura, it was revealed that he was already a Heavenly Phenomenon Grandmaster at the age of 24—a feat that shocked everyone.

Such raw talent placed him on a trajectory to ascend as a Land Immortal, and this promise of greatness commanded reverence.

“No need to fuss over me,” Bai Chen replied with a casual wave to those greeting him.

“Just bring me whatever,” he added to Bai Zhantang.

“Got it!” Zhantang grinned, swiftly heading toward the kitchen.

“Brother Bai,” a martial artist ventured cautiously, stepping forward, “rumor has it that Ying Zheng is cultivating immortality.

“In your travels, have you come across any immortal inheritances?”

The man’s tone was deferential, fully aware of the vast gap between his early innate-stage cultivation and Bai Chen’s lofty accomplishments.

He didn’t truly expect Bai Chen to reveal anything significant but figured there was no harm in asking.

Others in the inn shared the man’s curiosity, their gazes fixed intently on Bai Chen.

“I wouldn’t know,” Bai Chen replied with an air of regret, shaking his head. “If not for the news from Xianyang, I’d have no idea about immortal cultivation myself.”

Inwardly, however, Bai Chen chuckled.

Reveal the truth? Not yet.

The growing buzz around Ying Zheng’s exploits had already been feeding him Creation Power from the belief and awe it inspired. Currently, Bai Chen’s reserves had surpassed a staggering 100,000 points.

He had used this power to heal his injured origin and even created his own cultivation technique: the Nine Extremes Genesis Codex.

Designed specifically for him by the system, the Nine Extremes Genesis Codex vastly outclassed Ying Zheng’s Creation Immortal Sutra. Though only its first two layers had been revealed, its potential was boundless.

Bai Chen had already cultivated to the Peak of Qi Refinement, making him unrivalled in a world where Land Immortals reigned supreme.

But Bai Chen wasn’t ready to reveal himself yet. Drawing attention now would yield no benefits and invite unnecessary complications.

Patience was key; he would let the world continue to spiral under the influence of his machinations while collecting even greater Creation Power.

“Ah, what’s the point?” sighed an elderly martial artist who had reached the early Profound Mastery stage.

“I’ve spent my entire life cultivating martial arts, believing Land Immortals to be the pinnacle.

“Now, with a single month of cultivation, the Qin Emperor has utterly annihilated Donghuang Taiyi.”

“Why even bother practising martial arts?”

His lament struck a chord with many in the room.

The revelation of the immortal path had shaken their very understanding of the world. It seemed that a lifetime of martial prowess amounted to nothing before the power of immortality.

Another martial artist, nearing the innate peak stage, added, “Let’s not delude ourselves. Even if we stumbled upon the chance to cultivate immortality, most of us lack the talent to even begin.

“But if anyone here has the potential to surpass the Qin Emperor, it’s surely Young Master Bai!”

His voice was tinged with admiration and gratitude, for Bai Chen had once offered him guidance that drastically improved his cultivation.

“You flatter me,” Bai Chen said with a modest smile, inwardly amused.

It was only a matter of time before the true chaos began.
