Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 101: Demon King Bloodline (SS) - [0.002%]

"That sounds like another punishment…"

Then again, now that Cassius thought about it, the Idle Evolution System likely considered every punishment a reward in a sense. If not for Host outrage, it would probably classify everything painful as a reward. Fortunately, it had yet to stoop that low.

"Well, anyway, time to use the Key."

As if following Cassius's intent, the Hellish Key in his Inventory slowly started to break apart and vanish. Then, something similar happened to the one who used the key, with his body quite literally fading away. Seconds later, his presence in the Mortal Dimension was no more.

He was now in a better place.

"Roooarrrghh!!!!"

The only catch was that the "better place" was littered with flesh-craving devilspawn…

It had only been seconds since Cassius arrived in the Trial Gate Area of the 1st Floor of HELL, and his position had already been locked onto by a horde of demons. Under the ashy, crimson demonic sky, thousands of Lesser Demons leaped from ruined rooftop to rooftop. They were all monstrous, varied in size, and had glowing red eyes. And although they were categorized as White-tier Threats by the System, they were also of the C-Rank.

Every… single one of them was…

Cassius's gaze hardened as he dashed in the opposite direction of the Demon Horde.

Even if he could beat them quite easily with his overwhelming speed, he couldn't grow too confident—especially after just arriving and knowing next to nothing about the terrain, geography, and, most importantly, the enemies.

'But seriously… The System originally said the B-Rank was sufficient to enter this Dimension… So what is this??'

Even though a B-Rank Awakener would be strong enough to take on dozens of C-Rank Monsters, these Demons numbered in the thousands. Moreover, they likely had physical attribute-boosting Skills and high Strength stats. Any normal B-Rank Hunter would, without a doubt, die against such a fearsome and unknown force. Your next journey awaits at empire

So that begged the question…

"Does the Idle Evolution System actually want me to die???" questioned Cassius as he narrowly evaded a surprise attack by a massive Demon Orc that abruptly crashed out of a passing building.

However, with little leeway to worry about questions he would never receive the answer to, he decided to quit running and strike back. To start off, he threw out 39 Uncommon Evoballs, all of which contained B and B+ Elite Monsters and Boss Monsters.

Feeling no need to hold back, he went all out right from the start!

The Evoballs popped open mid-air, revealing the domineering and terrifyingly ominous figures of shadowy monsters. They loomed over even the large, crumbling skyscrapers, dwarfing all the comparatively smaller Demons rampaging through the devastated landscape.

"Go," Cassius ordered coldly. "Slaughter them all."

HOOORAAAAHH!!!

The Evomon Kaiju bellowed out in what sounded like a cheer as they flashed forward from their spots, crashing through building after building. Any Demons who got caught up in their path were swiftly crushed to oblivion, with their bloody guts and organs spraying the surroundings a dark shade of red.

"Even Demons bleed red, it seems," Cassius said calmly as he sat back on top of a tall, rustic building.

While watching the ensuing destruction and death happening below, he glanced at all of the incoming system notifications. After the last few Gate Raids, he had only managed to level up once more to 71, as his Experience Acquisition had really slowed down. However, with this HELL Trial Gate expedition, he hoped to gain a few more levels.

"Say, Nyxvoldar, do you believe your brethren down there could subdue an A- Demon or Monster if they worked together to do it?" Cassius suddenly asked, yet did not look away from the massacre occurring within the Hellish landscape.

FWIP!

A tall, lean shadowy figure materialized from thin air, appearing right beside the cloaked man calmly lounging on an illusory chair made from his own power. The shadowy figure registered its Liege's question, and after a couple of seconds, it slowly shook its head.

Cassius accepted Nyxvoldar's answer with a slight side-eye. Then, he sat quietly, patiently waiting for his Evomon army to eradicate the horde of Lesser Demons.

After half a minute.

The Evomon made quick work of the Demon Horde, leaving the already ruined landscape in even greater shambles. They killed every single one of them, and did so without any of them experiencing shadow death.

Shadow Death was what Cassius termed the ability the Evomons used when they received life-threatening damage. Using the Evomon Master's Mana, they could restore themselves back to peak condition and could do so indefinitely, assuming the Evomon Master had enough Mana to support those expenditures.

The system notifications hit Cassius like an avalanche. Moreover, from the corpses of the Demons shot out wispy black and red energy balls. They swarmed him like a barrage of homing rockets, with him having no hope of evading.

However, seeing that they held no ill intent, he simply let it happen.

OOOM!

Cassius instantly felt a wave of demonic energy wash over and integrate with his body. In that same moment, the carcasses of the Demons visibly disintegrated into nothingness, leaving not even the Magic Shards, which they never had to begin with.

By the end of a rapid successive series of demonic energy explosions around his body, Cassius felt something change inside him.

Right beside his 'Ordinary Phoenix Transformation' progression gauge appeared another one. This one, as opposed to the side of the spectrum that the Phoenix was on, leaned toward the negative part of things.

—Demon King Bloodline (SS) - [0.002%]—

"Hmm?" Cassius's expression twisted in confusion as he looked at the screen constantly flashing red in front of him. "Demon King Bloodline… And it's of the SS-Rank? So the rank following the S-Rank is the SS-Rank…"

He felt varying amounts of surprise over several things right now. However, what he was more concerned about was what would happen if he kept advancing both the Demon King and Phoenix Bloodlines.

Would he morph into some mutant hybrid that served as an illogical mix of the two opposite Bloodlines?
