Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 109: The B-Rank, A-Rank, and S-Rank

[Your Experience Bar has tremendously moved!]

[You leveled up!]

[You received 500 AP!]

[All of your Main Attributes have increased by 200 Stat Points!]

[All of your Stats have passed the 1000 Mark, meaning that you have officially achieved the all-around power level of an A-Rank Awakener!]

"Finally achieved the A-Rank, which is good," Cassius said with a hint of disgruntlement. "...This should be a good thing, but I also feel like my speed has not improved by an amount that it could've been if the gap between my Agility and other stats were larger."

After a few moments.

He let out a troubled cloud of air while beheading the last of the Lord Demons. As soon as they all died and assimilated with his existence, he resumed his trot through the blighted wasteland. Many more demons fell at his hands, with the only unfortunate thing being that he could not yet use the Rare-ranked Evoballs.

Cassius did, however, use the Common Evomon Rank-up Shards, which was only effective up to the A-Rank. Fortunately, Nyxvoldar was yet to exceed the A-Rank, so the Shard registered and brought its rank from B+ to A-.

According to the Idle Evolution System, he would need 11 more of the Common Rank-up Shards to get Nyxvoldar to the A++ Rank. Two for the second rank-up, three for the third, and then six for the final rank-up. This amount would likely take quite a while to amass, especially when the Shards were so rare.

Then again, Cassius wasn't too worried about killing things and stealing everything they had for himself.

Assuming one in every 100 Demon Hunting Scenarios prompted a Side Quest or Urgent Quest that gave Evomon Rank-up Shards upon completion, then he just had to murder a few… million odd Demons. Which, in relation to the sheer quantity of Demons in this forsaken place, didn't even amount to a tenth of their total forces.

Excluding the perilous threat of deadly demons from all directions, thinking around this topic got Cassius to thinking about other Rank-up Materials.

Lilith, for one, was sitting at the A+ Rank, yet could not rank up any further while in Hell because all of the Demon corpses disintegrated and assimilated with his existence. And though she benefited a little from that due to their connection, it was still nowhere near enough to reach the A++ or even the S-Rank.

And then there were the White-tier Dragon Pellets that Cassius occasionally received from Quests. Even up until this point in time, he hadn't gotten around to using them. Of course, he had read their descriptions a few times over now, and they were obviously related to his pet dragon, Yimin.

Essentially, if he fed them to her, it would speed up her growth process and also age her appropriately.

'But… if she becomes any more powerful than she already is, then it is highly possible that she will advance to a level greater than where I stand,' thought Cassius, his lips pursed in exasperation. 'And normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but with that 'unique' personality of hers… Well, I'll probably be a shriveled-up corpse within the same day she surpasses me…'

It was for that and a few other personal reasons that Cassius refused to allow himself to slack or lag behind the game.

Even if Yimin was only getting stronger because of her natural heritage bloodline, that didn't make any difference in his mind. He refused to be behind anyone, for if that ever happened, his life would be at the whim of someone else—just like how the Lesser Abyssal Demons could have killed him in an instant if they hadn't wanted to toy with him first.

For Cassius, becoming #1 was no longer an option. It was simply what he would become.

However, did this mean he would withhold something like the Dragon Pellets from Yimin?

The answer to that was obviously… no!

As soon as he got out of here, he would hand the pellets over to the insane dragon. He would like to see just how she could possibly hope to keep up with him!

In a matter of seconds, while slaughtering countless demons, Cassius's stance on the subject of Yimin and the Pellets had switched several times. Yet it was because of this inner debate and discussion with himself that he resolved to acquire even greater amounts of power at even quicker rates.

He would not allow anyone to advance faster than him. After all, that was the only thing he was good at.

One hour later.

After this period of performing Demon genocide, the number of Demons that Cassius had slain long surpassed the million milestone. Like a crimson blur, he reaped the lives of Demons at speeds that exceeded anything that even tens of thousands of them could register before they found themselves lacking heads.

Following the first appearance of the Lesser Abyssal Demons, it was no longer a battle or war. It was simply carnage and death. Void of discrimination, he killed and killed; he killed until entire ruined cities were razed to the ground.

They say that a B-Rank Hunter was capable of destroying towns and tiny cities if given enough time to create destruction, already making them something akin to gods. This was also one of the reasons why so many people turned into brainless fanatic lunatics when the B-Rank MoonShiner Party arrived in Hoshito.

The B-Rank in backwater and less-known areas of the world was a rank that symbolized the first step on the road to godhood.

The A-Rank, on the other hand, represented a state of being that exceeded anything modern-day mortal idols or celebrities could compete with. They were often seen as the limit of human capabilities, having reached a level where large cities would vanish the same night one was left to do what they wanted.

Then there were the S-Rank Awakeners.

If you awakened as an S-Rank Awakener, then you had ascended from the bottom to the absolute pinnacle in the eyes of the common populace. You were no longer just an icon but an actual living deity, and not just to mortals, but also to other Awakeners.

You could become the King of a small country, you could obliterate that same country. You could even rule the entire world if you were the only one of your kind.

This was the S-Rank—the peak of existence.
