Chapter 409: Excalibur: Unlock Art Form 1

Both Emperor Omon and Immortal General Drekenor sighed in unison. It was tough to live with oneself when monsters like that existed while still being so young. Yet, even despite that, the monsters they were referring to were part of their faction, so there was no need to hold negative feelings about them.

After their mulling was done and over with, Drekenor gave his liege all the scriptures he was in possession of. He then bid farewell to his old friend and left the Royal Castle, promptly returning to the battlefront in the war against the Nytherion Empire. On his way out, however, the blood-red gaze of a reindeer trainer followed every movement he made. Many things swirled around inside his head as he sensed immense benefits.

He had just recently broken through to the Grade 7 Immortal King Realm and burned through a large chunk of his cultivation resources. Thus, he required something that could give him that final boost and send him rocketing straight to the peak of the Immortal King Realm, and then into the Immortal Emperor Realm. Only then could he leave his post as a 'Reindeer Trainer' and enter the Lands Unknown, which would be where the true fun starts. Find additional tales at m,vl-em,py-r

"Big waves are spreading throughout the Azureflask Empire, and it surely won't be long before its waves reach the other Empires and cause backlash."

A cold gleam flashed past Azmodeus's eyes as his crimson hair turned wild and fluttered around him, which scared the Black Qilin Horses even more than they already were. They had only known this man for a short amount of time, but they knew that when he got like that, sh*t was about to go down.

And they were right about that… as a few days after this incident with the Immortal General, the Nytherion Empire declared full-on war and pulled out all the stops. They had to retrieve the scriptures that were stolen from them, no matter the cost!

A few Immortal God Ancestors were even called out as they zipped toward the Azureflask Empire and caused catastrophic destruction, even going so far as to erase countless mountain ranges and cities off the face of the map. This enraged the Ancestors of the Azureflask Empire, which led to them leaving their thousand-year-long seclusions to battle the opposing Immortal Gods head-on.

In the skies above, constant flashes of light appeared extremely high up, showing their shadows through the clouds that shrouded the day. Directly below one of these flashing storms was a crimson-eyed man and his Nine Reindeer, all of whom had broken through to the Immortal Emperor Realm. He himself also possessed a cultivation in the Grade 9 Immortal King Realm, even though it looked like the Grade 9 Immortal Venerable Realm on the outside.

As for what he was doing here…

"When these ancient foggies fight, they tend to discard any useless weapons and treasures," Azmodeus said with an acute gleam in his gaze. "As long as I stay hidden for long enough, and then use covert abilities, I'm effectively able to move around the battlefield and borrow anything that catches my eye." As he talked, he commanded his reindeers off the ground. In the not-too-far-off distance were others who had similar thoughts. Moreover, their cultivations were in the Immortal King and Immortal Emperor Realm. A profound coldness infused itself into Azmodeus's aura as he watched these thieves steal what he planned to borrow. Not willing to let this slide, he activated both his Immortal Domain and his King aspect, which caused his power to surge. Then, with a bright flash of crimson-black light, he blurred forward and vanished into the speed stream. When he reappeared, the shiniest thieves were right in front of him, all of whom were going over their gains with greedy expressions.

"Can you believe all that we obtained? I count not only one but a total of eight Peak-Emperor Rank Treasures!" he shouted. "We're going to be filthy rich, my friends," he patted a couple of the other thieves on the back, all of them thinking about everything they were going to buy. One of the others spoke up as well, his facial features resembling more along the lines of a horse than a human. "With all of this wealth, who knows, we might even be able to gain a ticket into the secret passageway that leads one safely out of the Lands Unknown and into the Desert of the Unknown!"

The others nodded in unison. But upon recalling the average price of a ticket, their faces immediately darkened. Even with eight Peak-Emperor Rank treasures, they would just barely be able to purchase a single basic ticket. Moreover, with the battling Immortal God Ancestors having already left the area, there was no longer a way for them to steal some more items. As this harrowing thought appeared in their minds, they knew exactly what they had to do. A dangerous glint flashed past all their eyes as they simultaneously reached for their weapons. However, before they could devolve into all-out pandemonium, Azmodeus's devilish visage materialized from the speed stream. Right behind him were Rudolph, Prancer, and the other Reindeer, all of whom had sped along with their caretaker. Azmodeus struck first; Excalibur appeared in his hands, completely covered in a dark red crackling lightning energy. Right beside it formed a mirror copy of the sword, then another, and another, and another…

Instantly and in rapid succession, dozens of crackling Excaliburs formed from thin air and turned in multiple different directions. There were a few Grade 7 and Grade 8 Immortal Emperors among the lot, so this was necessary. Following up with their initial burst of aura, they spun in a circle and transformed into drill-like blurs. Out of the corner of their eyes while moving as if they were in slow motion, the spinning Excaliburs shot toward them. Unable to do a single thing about what was going to happen, they resigned themselves to their fate and opened their eyes wide in horror. Then, when time resumed, the crackling swords blasted through their bodies, causing them to explode into dozens of meat chunks.
