Chapter 503: Why Are They Here?
William patted his Companion on the head, "Of course, little buddy."
"I'm not little anymore! Masster, I used to be able to sstick my head in the cloudsss."
"You'll always be my little buddy." William replied with a nostalgic smile, before retrieving some ingredients from his Space Ring. He hadn't cooked for Atticus in a while, since their increasing Cultivation meant they needed to eat less and less.
William was already in the Ascension Realm, so eating was completely pointless, unless it was Spirit Food. Only Spirit Food could be useful to him and Atticus.
Which is why I saved up so many Magical Beast corpses from the Mortal Realms! William dropped a few corpses on the ground and used the Weapon Sharpness Talent and his cooking skills to remove the waste and dice the remainder into small cubes of meat that would be used in the omelettes.
Since the Specialized Space Rings maintained the condition of the corpses, it was as if they had just been killed, instead of rotting away for months. William discarded the trash items and continued the process of cooking Spirit Omelettes, finishing up with the help of the Fire Element in just three minutes.
He took a small omelette for himself, leaving a second the size of a queen-size bed for Atticus. The two ate in silence, enjoying the flavor with every bite.
"Ahh, that's the spot! This is what's really important about Magic!" William licked his lips after finishing the omelette, his Mythical Rat Snake nodding in agreement. They both needed that.
I bet there are better cooks than me out there... I wonder what their food tastes like? William patted Atticus once more and stood up. It was time to go to the Quake Dungeon.
Like before, classes wouldn't start for another three days. Because of the Heavens' appearance, however, many large Families felt uneasy and asked the school to give them some additional time off. Now, William wouldn't have to come back for an entire week!
Not only this, but Vice Principal Kenny recommended that William improve his strength before he goes into the Realm of Fire. It was too dangerous for a mere Ascension Realm Cultivator, even if he possessed an Elemental Form.
This should give me plenty of time to upgrade my Talents and explore the Quake Dungeon. I might even be able to improve my Illusory Clone Potential Spell!
William had Atticus turn invisible and left through the front doors, not forgetting to check out with the hotel staff. Some chain-teleports and a while later, William was back outside the Quake Dungeon.
"Hey! You can't enter the Dungeon alone. It's too dangerous!" a guard stood in front of the portal and blocked William's path. While other students were partying up, William had simply walked past them towards the portal.
William handed the guard a note while silently asking Atticus to reveal himself, "I think you'll notice that I'm not alone. Here is my Companion Beast."
"That little guy? Ha! He wouldn't survive the first floor!" the guard said while reading the contents of the letter.
"He gets much bigger. I can show you, but you'll have to take responsibility for the dead students and a flattened fortress." William shrugged.
"Go on ahead... and do be careful Sir." The guard stepped aside and allowed William to pass, handing his note back in the process. His attitude flipped one hundred and eighty degrees, but not because of what William said, rather due to the contents of the note.
Vice Principal Kenny's stamp of approval was clearly imprinted at the very bottom. Among the guards at the Quake Dungeon, they knew it could only mean one thing: William's strength was at least in the middle stages of the Initial Deity Realm.
Since the note labeled him as a First-Year, William's potential far surpassed theirs. They had no right to stop him if he chose to go in by himself.
William didn't answer and simply stepped through the portal. He teleported directly to the stairwell at the end of the fourth floor, noticing about a dozen students gathered together and planning their attack on the fifth floor's Boss.
Isn't that... my class? William noticed Jonathan and Bethany Irisa, Shine, Yuhe Slightwing, Felmus Flamerium, and several others amongst the group. He guessed that they had the same thoughts as he did, to use the extra time to roam the Quake Dungeon.
When did they get permission from the Professor? William didn't know, but it didn't matter too much. He used Illusion Magic to conceal himself, drawing closer to the group and scanning their condition with Mana Mode.
Are they really going to fight the Boss in this state? Other than Mikaela, they each only have about half of their Mana left!
-Why are you bothered with them?
They're my classmates. I might be insensitive sometimes, but I'm not heartless.
-You're also annoying, stupid, a hoarder, dumb, and trash.
You said stupid and dumb; they're the same thing.
-Did I mention you're also an idiot?
Whatever. William remained hidden and stayed with the group until they were ready for the Boss fight.
"Felmus, you go in front since you almost made me waste a Tier 9 Rejuvenation Pill earlier." Yuhe ordered.
"You did that to yourself, it wasn't my fault! Why do I have to go in front?" Felmus argued.
"Because I'm more important than you are. After all, I am from the..."
"The Slightwing Family. We know, you egotistical bitch." Felmus muttered the last part under his breath.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, I'll go in front. But not because you told me to!"
This is already such a trainwreck. William looked at the students with a hint of pity. They all had combat strength that was enough to handle the early floors of the Dungeon, but it was obvious at a glance that their personality conflicts caused many problems amongst the group.
He watched as Felmus opened the doors to the Boss room. The problem was, William remembered very clearly that his second-year allies from last time had cast several defensive abilities before opening the doors. That was because of...
Shit, traps! William secretly fired off an Earth Bullet that kicked the door wide open, just a few steps ahead of Felmus.
At its landing spot, giant lances pierced through the ground from underneath and obliterated the rock. Felmus, who was merely a meter away from the giant lances, fell backwards and landed on his butt, narrowly dodging a spray of Bone Bullets from the Boss.
His face turned pale white as Felmus realized he had nearly died. The number of defensive treasures he carried with him might not have been enough for such a sneaky trap. He looked backwards at Yuhe Slightwing, who turned her head away with embarrassment.
"Get up, idiot! You should have known there were traps! We're going inside!" she ordered before anyone could hold her accountable.
-I'm surprised you did that. You merely have 52 Humanity, yet you still decided to save someone you don't know?
I don't know either. It just felt like a good decision. William replied, following his classmates inside the Boss room.
While William wanted to believe that the students would learn from the earlier event, what actually happened was the complete opposite. Their formations were a complete mess, and they were more disorganized than a high-school senior during final's week.
Everyone fought for themselves, and those who attacked the Boss only targeted it in ways that could damage the creature. No one thought to target its joints, block its attacks for their allies, or coordinate their own attacks to deal increased damage.
It reminded William that these students were still children, with little group combat experience compared to their counterparts in the Mortal Realms. Half of them were the same age as he was, but the only thing they had to show for it was the ability to fight by themselves. Against a creature well above their level, their chances of taking it down were zero.
-Sounds like an opportunity for you.
William was about to ask what the System meant when a certain Talent appeared in his mind.
———
Noble Prowess (Legendary): (X)
Effects:
-Etiquette when required will be enhanced by 9600%, allowing the Host to not look like an idiot even if he wants to.
-Decorations and furnishings will always match the interior of a room or enclosure.
-Charisma increased by 3200%.
-When leading a group, the members will almost always listen to your orders. If their Mental Strength is much weaker than yours, they might even die for you.
-Your aura exudes nobility, decreasing the chance that enemies will openly oppose you, but increasing the chances that they will secretly scheme behind your back.
Next rank up: 1,000,000 PP and command a team of fifty or greater.

The group before him wasn't quite a team of fifty, but William agreed that this might be good practice. He canceled his Illusion Spell, revealing his position at the entrance of the Boss Room. Because of their fight with the Boss, no one noticed William's presence, but that was solved with a single shout.
"Is this what the first-year students are capable of?! Why don't you work together and show me what you can really do!"
