Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage

Chapter 249: 249: You’ll Die if You Don’t Answer the Questions!

[Half-Orc Queen · Tomb Guardian · Ninelra]

Level: 40

Saint-level Entity

HP: 70 million

Attack Power: 8,000

Skills: Half-Orc Crown, Master Warrior Technique, Body Domination

As Raven and the others saw the figure appear, they immediately rushed over.

"Good lord! A Saint-level boss! Don't tell me we have to defeat her?" Divine Slash exclaimed.

With 70 million HP, this Saint-level boss was akin to a god in the eyes of regular players—completely unbeatable!

Even their small squad would struggle against a boss of the same level, let alone one of the Saint-tier. Against something like that? It'd be better to just go to bed.

Luna Frost: "What do you think? Should we test the waters, figure out the tactics, and then call the guild for help?"

"Are you planning to call more people to send them to their deaths?" Raven shot back, adding cold water to the situation. Even though the boss on the coast wasn't high level, her rank was definitely Saint-tier.

Even the Holy Light Dragon was merely a Saint-tier, and creatures of that level not only had abnormal stats but also unpredictable mechanisms and abilities.

In Raven's view, there was no way regular players could handle such a foe.

Divine Slash: "Come on, don't lose hope! Worst case, I'll just call the Triple Crown winner to deal with this boss. We'll split the treasure!"

Raven snorted derisively, "Naive. Even if Orgod is strong enough to take down this boss, you really think he's going to share the loot with you?"

At his words, the mood dropped like a rock, and the excitement over striking it rich was quickly extinguished.

That player was a leaderboard-level powerhouse. If he wanted the treasure, it was his to take—who cared about their humble opinions?

Raven sighed and said, "Calm down. It's just a neutral NPC. They probably won't attack us."

Divine Slash: "Well... you could've said that earlier. I was wondering why a golden treasure map would lead us to a Saint-tier boss."

Just as the group started to calm down, Orson muttered to himself, "70 million HP and only level 40... so weak."

Weak??

As soon as those words left his mouth, the players nearby nearly choked on their own saliva. If any player had said that, they'd probably be slapped awake with a giant ear swipe.

But coming from an NPC mage? That was a whole different level of confidence!

Not to mention, this NPC had just cast a terrifying spell. Both Divine Slash and Luna Frost were gazing at "Orsix" with stars in their eyes.

This was the confidence of the Supreme Mage of the Light Dragon Empire!

Divine Slash: "I heard NPCs can kill players—how about you cast some miracle magic again?"

This time, even Raven's face changed. If this was possible…

They could exploit a bug, wander around the Dark Dragon Empire with "Orsix," and keep the NPC lost, which meant they could go around killing players and NPCs without trouble!

They'd rake in billions with ease!

But the ever-obliging mage was silent this time.

Divine Slash lamented, "What a waste…"

Raven sighed, "There are no shortcuts in this game. To get stronger, you just have to grind!"

Orson: "This dark-clad figure is a quest NPC. I'm not sure we can kill them though."

Orson thought it over. Although a Saint-level boss was tough, he'd taken down even stronger opponents like Barenkas.

What worried him more was that killing an NPC might affect their treasure hunt.

That was the real priority.

Orson: "Let's just observe for now."

With that decision made, Raven and the others hesitantly approached the dark figure.

"Adventurers, I have been waiting for you," the dark-clad figure spoke calmly. "I am Ninelra Agabelin, the 11th Tomb Guardian."

She pulled something from her pocket, and the players' eyes immediately widened in awe.

"Wow… Wow! To die by her sword would be the luckiest thing in my life!"

"Get out of the way, scum! I'm a loyal servant of the Half-Orc Queen! Let her long legs wrap around me!"

A few male players were practically drooling. This was a beautiful, slender, beast-ear girl with flawless white skin and a sizzling figure!

Ninelra's reddish-brown eyes glowed with a captivating allure, and the claws on her arms showed off well-defined muscles, giving her a wild, untamed beauty.

Under her black robe, she wore tight white armor, her life force radiating power. Her pair of snowy white beast ears were enough to drive anyone wild.

Divine Slash: "My god, she's amazing. This game is too worth it!"

Raven: "She's stunning, but what if we kill her and get some magical armor?"

Orson's mind was racing, wondering if killing an NPC might drop some rare gear.

It was a known rule in Infinite Dimensions—those without conscience would always make the most money.

These NPCs were specifically designed to appeal to players' aesthetics, which made them even more alluring.

Ninelra: "To obtain the legendary treasure, you must first answer my riddles. Are you ready?"

The "Golden-level Exploration Quest" appeared: "Answer more than 80% of the questions correctly to gain entry into the secret realm. Fail, and you will die instantly and lose 5 levels."

The group immediately perked up. They would've been happy with just two questions, let alone two hundred!

Divine Slash: "Everyone, open Google and search for the answers! Let's discuss it in the team chat!"

Luna Frost: "Hehe, using AI to beat AI. Nice one, captain!"

Orson shook his head. While the game did have a search feature, if it were that easy to get answers, the NPC's presence would be a joke.

Sure enough, six white beams of light descended, isolating them in a separate space.

...

"You have 30 seconds to think of an answer."

The calm voice of the beast-ear girl echoed:

"Riddle 1: I have three states. Soft as a gentle caress, light as a breeze in the sky, and hard enough to break rocks.

Adventurers, what am I?"

Raven and Orson froze for a moment. Was it really that simple?

As a player who'd earned a reputation for answering riddles from the very start of the game, this was practically a freebie!

But for regular players, this would be a nightmare...

If you were a genius, why would you be playing a game like this anyway?

Divine Slash: "This isn't fair! I'm a warrior, not a thinker!"

With no response from anyone, Divine Slash shouted desperately, "Water!"

"H2O!"

In just a few seconds, Raven and Orson both answered correctly.

"Correct," came the calm voice of Ninelra.

A green "√" appeared above their names, while a red "×" appeared next to those who were wrong.

Despite how simple the question was, only Raven, Orson, and Luna Frost answered correctly.

Divine Slash immediately kneeled, crying out, "My intelligence is 180, but I'm terrible at this! This is unfair!"

"Riddle 2: The person who invented it doesn't want it, the one who bought it doesn't need it, and the one who needs it doesn't know it.

Adventurers, what is it?"

Orson raised an eyebrow, intrigued. He turned his gaze toward Raven.

Raven shivered, looking back at him.

Their eyes met, and Raven's expression changed slightly. How could an NPC compete with him in his area of expertise?

"One NPC dares to challenge me in my field?" Raven muttered to himself, growing determined.

"I will join the top guild in Infinite Dimensions and surpass my limits!"

Meanwhile, Divine Slash finally calmed down.

After thinking long and hard, he smiled confidently.

The answer was clear.

"It's real estate!"
