Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss

Chapter 374: One way

As the last words left her mouth, a wave of cold mana filled the room. Hannah flinched. She felt it—Seojun's killing intent. Her wings flared open and she darted toward the far wall, trying to escape through the window, but Seojun was already gone from where he stood.

In the next second, with a sound like a thunderclap, Seojun reappeared above her, slamming his foot down into her body and driving her hard into the floor. She let out a scream, blood spilling from her mouth as the ground cracked beneath her.

Jinhyu ran forward, panic rising in his chest. "Hannah!" he cried, throwing himself in front of her to protect her broken body. "No, Master! Please, stop! You're hurting her!"

Seojun appeared again across from them, He stared down at them both, not with anger. On the ground, Hannah whimpered softly, turning her face toward Jinhyu with weak, trembling eyes.

"Jinhyu…" she said, her voice low and filled with pain. "Please… help me… I don't want to die…"

Jinhyu's heart clenched. It sounded like her again. He didn't know what to believe anymore. Maybe, just maybe, a part of her was still there.

But Seojun's gaze sharpened. He noticed it first—the small smirk curling at the edge of her lips behind Jinhyu's back.

"You've got to be kidding me…Jinhyu, She's gone," Seojun said firmly. "All that's left is a monster. You're being used."

Jinhyu shook his head, overwhelmed. His hands trembled as everything happened too fast. Just this morning they were in class. Now… now she was trying to kill them.

But Seojun had no more patience. "You're wasting time."

He disappeared again, and in a flash, reappeared behind Hannah. She barely had time to react before he grabbed her by the neck and threw her across the room, her body smashing against the wall with another loud crash. The impact shook the ground, and dust filled the air.

"Hannah!" Jinhyu shouted again, running toward her broken body. "No, Master! Stop! She's like my sister! Don't do this, please!"

But before he could reach her, a shadow clone of Seojun appeared in front of him and grabbed him tightly, pulling him back with strong force. Jinhyu struggled and shouted, trying to break free, but the clone didn't let go.

Across the room, Hannah slowly stood, shaking, her body wounded and her movements unnatural. She looked at Jinhyu again, her voice weak, "Please… help me… I'm scared… you said you'd protect me, remember…?"

Jinhyu's body froze. She was using that same voice again—the voice of the Hannah he cared for, the voice that sounded like the sister he never had.

But then she laughed again.

A low, horrible giggle that became louder and louder until it filled the room.

"You really are a fool," she said, still using Hannah's voice, but now filled with cruelty.

Seojun stood silently in the middle of the room, as he slowly raised his hand, black mana swirling quietly at his fingertips,

But just before he could release it—

A voice shouted, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps and heavy breathing, and in the next instant, a figure burst into the room.

"Stop—!"

It was Minseok, panting hard, his eyes wide with shock as they landed on the scene—Seojun standing with his hand raised, Hannah in the floor with madness in her face,

Then something sharp whistled through the air.

A dagger flew fast toward Seojun, but before it could touch him, he lifted his hand and caught it with ease, the blade spinning slightly in his grip before settling as his eyes calmly turned toward the door where another figure now stood—Alexa, standing tall in the doorway, her chest rising and falling as she breathed heavily, her expression tense but firm.

"Seojun," she said, her voice steady despite the panic in her eyes, "stop. Let me handle this."

For a moment, nothing moved.

Then Hannah, sensing the shift in tension, bolted—her wings snapped open and she flew upward, her body smashing against the ceiling, trying to force her way through any crack or gap she could find, but the barrier surrounding the room shimmered faintly, and no matter how high or how fast she flew, she couldn't get out.

Seojun turned toward Alexa and silently handed the dagger back, the blade resting across his open palm before she took it again.

Then his voice, low and tired, broke the silence.

"Minseok tell me what happened. Just yesterday it was Yoora… now it's Hannah."

Seojun's eyes followed Hannah as she hovered near the ceiling, wings beating slowly now as she glared down at them, her face twisted in fury. She's trying to get out but there's a barrier around this room. Even with the door open, she's trapped. Nothing gets in. Nothing gets out.

"You're just making this harder for her," he muttered, almost to himself.

Alexa stepped forward, her voice softer now.

"And also harder for them," she said, nodding toward Jinhyu and Minseok. "But maybe there's still a chance… Seojun… is there really no other way?"

"There's nothing I can do," he said, "but Hannah can. If she's still in there… if she fights back… there's a chance."

Jinhyu, who had been silent on the floor, pushed himself up slowly, wiping the blood from his mouth, and with eyes still filled with tears but burning with something new—hope—he looked at Seojun and asked with a shaking voice.

"Can you… can you do something? Anything to help her hear us?"

Seojun didn't answer.

[There might be a way, host, If you access her consciousness directly, there is a small window. A narrow bridge. But the risk is high. Her soul is being devoured as we speak. If she is too far gone, entering may destroy them both.]

Jinhyu looked at Seojun desperately. Seojun eyes watching Hannah as she hovered helplessly against the barrier near the ceiling, and then he let out a slow, deep sigh before turning to face Jinhyu and Minseok, both of them still shaken, both of them desperate and said,

"There's a way—one way—but it's not without risk, and I need you two to listen carefully."

He walked forward, as he continued, "I'll open a path into her consciousness, a direct link to whatever is left of Hannah inside, if she's still in there, still fighting, you'll be able to reach her… but the deeper you go, the harder it'll be to return, especially if she's already fading, if the thing controlling her notices you, it will do everything to stop you, and if that happens, the only way out is by shouting my full name—Han Seojun—as loud as you can, and I'll pull you out."

Minseok and Jinhyu exchanged a glance and Seojun didn't wait for a response, instead, he lifted one hand and pointed his finger toward Hannah above, his mana quietly humming through the air before suddenly crashing down like an invisible weight.

Hannah gasped.

Her wings twitched and faltered, and in the next moment, she dropped like a stone, slamming to the ground hard as if a giant boulder had fallen on her back, unable to move as the gravity pressed her down, her body trembling and her mouth screaming, "She's gone! You hear me? Gone! You can't do anything now! You're too late!"

But Jinhyu and Minseok didn't flinch.

They moved quickly, rushing to her, grabbing ropes and binding her arms and legs again in the chair despite her thrashing and shouting, the panic in her voice louder now, more desperate, as if the thing inside her knew what was coming.

And then—

Seojun appeared in front of her in a blink and as she growled and screamed like a trapped animal, he simply reached out and flicked her forehead gently with two fingers.

Instantly, her body went still.

Her eyes rolled back and her consciousness slipped away, her head slumping forward.

Then, quietly, Seojun moved Jinhyu and Minseok into place, guiding them to stand in front of her limp form, placing each of their hands on her shoulders, making sure their grip was steady, and as he placed his own hands on their backs—one on Jinhyu's shoulder, the other on Minseok's—his voice dropped lower but firm.

"When you get in there, things won't look right. You might see memories, dreams, or things twisted by the parasite. Whatever happens, don't lose yourselves. And remember… if you're in danger or can't find the way out, shout my name. No hesitation."

Both boys nodded silently.

Their hearts were racing, but their eyes were clear.

"We'll bring you back, Hannah."
