Chapter 238: Chapter 238: The Purchasing Power of Gold Coins

The soft jingle of the door chime echoed through the saloon as Qin Ming and Kasamoto Eri, now decked out in full cowboy attire with revolvers at their hips, swaggered confidently out of the bar.

Inside, the remaining cowboys exchanged bewildered glances, their attention inevitably falling on a pair left standing in nothing but their undergarments.

Ultimately, Qin Ming had secured the duo's clothes for a single gold coin—valued at 100 points in the Nightmare Space.

And where did this gold come from? Let's not forget the 6,500-point stash of gold coins Qin Ming had saved from the Dragon King Warrior world. They had sat unused in his inventory until now.

What better place to break out the gold than the wild frontier? Cowboys and prospectors alike worshipped gold.

Watching the two gunfighters leave in their new outfits, the saloon patrons finally relaxed.

However, their gazes collectively shifted toward the nearly naked couple.

The duo froze, immediately understanding the brewing intentions of those around them.

Clang!

In an instant, guns were drawn as everyone aimed at each other, tension thick in the air.

"Hand over the gold!"

"Come and take it yourself!"

"The code of the West—split the bounty, partner!"

"Then how about splitting your life with me?"

"Hey, hey, no fighting in the saloon! Break anything, and you'll pay for it! Also, those two guests didn't cover their tab—guess you two will be footing the bill, right?"

As voices clashed, the atmosphere grew even more volatile.

Just as a gunfight seemed inevitable, the door chime jingled again.

Everyone turned in unison, only to see Qin Ming and Kasamoto Eri casually return.

The cowboys immediately lowered their weapons, stiffening in place.

Standing by the entrance, Qin Ming tipped his unchanged pirate hat with a friendly smile.

"Gentlemen, could you kindly direct me to the sheriff's office?"

Clang!

Before he even finished speaking, every cowboy simultaneously pointed to the left.

"Take a left!" they chorused.

"Thanks!"

Qin Ming gave a polite bow, stepping backward as he closed the door behind him.

The moment the door clicked shut, chaos erupted inside the saloon.

Gunfire roared as bullets flew in all directions.

Outside, Qin Ming nodded in satisfaction. "That's handled," he muttered before leading Kasamoto Eri toward the sheriff's office.

Of course, those clothes weren't remotely worth 100 points.

Qin Ming wouldn't have paid even 10 points for them under normal circumstances.

The real reason for offering a 100-point gold coin was to gauge its purchasing power in this world.

Now, seeing the cowboys erupt into a deadly brawl over just one coin, Qin Ming was confident his coins held tremendous value here.

While the Nightmare Space might only assign them a value of 100 points, the locals clearly viewed them as a precious commodity.

This revelation opened up endless possibilities.

At the sheriff's office, the door creaked open as Qin Ming and Kasamoto Eri strolled inside.

Approaching the front desk, Qin Ming leaned casually against the counter.

"Where's your sheriff? I need to speak with him."

The deputy behind the desk blinked in surprise, his gaze turning wary as his hand drifted toward the gun on his hip.

"What do you want with the sheriff? He doesn't have time to meet bounty hunters."

"I've got a business proposition—a big one."

As he spoke, Qin Ming casually flicked a gold coin from his inventory.

The coin spun through the air, catching the light and gleaming brilliantly as it descended.

The deputy's eyes widened, transfixed by the golden glow. Swallowing hard, he scrambled out of his seat and hurried toward a back room.

Moments later, heavy footsteps echoed through the station as the sheriff emerged, flanked by several deputies.

The towering sheriff strode up to Qin Ming, his stern expression briefly softening as his gaze locked onto the shimmering gold coin in Qin Ming's hand.

"So, you're the one who wants to talk business?"

"That's right."

"What's your rank?"

"I'm a bounty hunter—well, technically a low-ranking one."

Qin Ming pulled out the badge he had received at the start and gave it a casual glance before shrugging.

Upon hearing that Qin Ming was just a low-level bounty hunter, the sheriff couldn't help but let out a derisive snort.

Just as he was about to speak, Qin Ming flicked his wrist, and the single gold coin in his hand multiplied into three.

The sheriff's expression froze, his grin disappearing as he tilted his head thoughtfully.

"Come inside."

Leading the way into a private room, the sheriff unbuckled his gun belt and placed his revolver on the table.

Leaning back in his chair with his boots propped up on the desk, he regarded Qin Ming with a stony expression.

Closing the door behind him, Qin Ming grinned and got straight to the point.

"Sheriff, I'm planning to hunt down some of the notorious outlaws on the wanted list. I need intel, and I'm willing to give you all the credit for taking them down—I only want the bounty."

The sheriff's posture straightened as he regarded Qin Ming more seriously.

"Just the two of you?"

"How we handle it is our business. All we need from you is information—and preferably a good gun."

"You don't even have a proper weapon? And you think you can take down wanted men?"

The sheriff's expression grew increasingly skeptical.

Before he could continue, Qin Ming slapped the three gold coins onto the table with a resounding thud.

"Less talking. Intel and a gun."

The sheriff's gaze flicked to the coins, gleaming under the dim light. His eyes glinted, and after a moment's hesitation, he stood up and opened a cabinet.

Pulling out a map, he tossed it onto the table. After some rummaging, he retrieved a revolver and placed it beside the map.

Leaning back in his chair, legs crossed, the sheriff spoke flatly.

"The map marks the territories and active areas of several wanted outlaws. As for the revolver, it's a fine piece—confiscated from a notorious bandit. Good luck."

Qin Ming nodded in appreciation. He unfolded the map, scanning it carefully to ensure its accuracy, then picked up the revolver.

With practiced hands, he dismantled the weapon, meticulously inspecting each component before reassembling it and spinning the cylinder to test its movement.

Satisfied, he glanced at the weapon's specs:

Name: Western Revolver (Sunset Riders, Act I)

Category: Weapon (Blue Quality)

Attribute 1: Fixed Attack Power 20-25

Attribute 2: Ignores 5 Defense Points

Description: "It may not be fancy, but it's reliable. Trust a revolver's craftsmanship as much as you trust the dollar in the Wild West."

(Note: This is a storyline-exclusive item and cannot be taken out of this world.)

Three hundred points for a blue-tier weapon and a map—pretty decent trade, Qin Ming mused.

Had he not insisted on the map, the sheriff might have offered a weapon that could be taken out of the storyline world, though its quality likely wouldn't have been as high.

Sliding the revolver into its holster and folding the map neatly, Qin Ming tipped his pirate hat respectfully.

"Pleasure doing business with you, Sheriff."

The sheriff grinned broadly, matching Qin Ming's smile with one of his own.

"Likewise, bounty hunter."
