Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 451 - Another Long Journey

After leaving the confines of the last of the five settlements, it will take me up to six hours before I could reach the borders of the northern military camps. From that amount of travel time alone, I already know that I will struggle on finding ways to spend that time without getting bored to death. The soldiers opted to make sure that the settlements are as far from the area of the skirmishes as possible which explains the distance between the two areas.

It only took an hour of travel before I started to get really bored, even after busying myself with the mapping of the area, harvesting alchemy materials and hunting small animals of and sightseeing. The only thing I could see from both sides of my wagon were plants, stones and soil anyways. Nothing new.

This is one of the cons of travelling alone. There is just no one to talk to.

To kill time, I started checking on the documents that have been sent to my shared storage spaces. I looked for anything I could read or things that need my signature, even the not so urgent ones, I started completing them. I also looked into any reports that I have received to see if there are any other things that were missed or problems that may have occurred that needs my problem-solving activities. Just when I was skimming through the tons of letters and documents, I heard a loud thud coming from the roof of my wagon as if something fell on it.

I calmly looked up and used my mana to sense whatever was on top of my wagon. To my surprise, it was someone I have not seen in quite a while. I used a rune to teleport the person stepping on my wagon to the inside of my living room. He was quite surprised at the sudden change in his surroundings but kept his calm like the little prince he is.

Void stood in the middle of my living room, looking around like a kid that visited a carnival for the first time. Eventually his eyes landed on me who was sitting comfortably on the sofa. His eyes which were showing shock at first turned into a glare for a few seconds then it turned cold and emotionless again as if what I saw was just an illusion. He must have thought that I did not notice it but yeah, I totally did.

He walked across the living room and slumped on the other end of the sofa, two seats away from me which is the farthest he can get. He was quiet, not giving the usual greeting he usually uses when he meets me. I chuckled at his little tantrum and used my mana to pull him next to me. I snaked my left arm around his waist after so he wouldn't be able to move away.

I heard him gasp and grunt at the sudden pull on his body. Once he was beside me though, he looked away as if he hated seeing me. I stole a lingering kiss on his neck and he was not able to control himself as a soft moan came out from his lips. I chuckled again at his response.

When he heard me laugh, he started squirming as he tried to escape my grasp. To distract him, I nonchalantly said, "I will send one of my people in Aeterdumnox to assist your people in moving to the new World Tree realm. How soon can you pack up and leave?"

I felt his body stiffen as his head turned. I can finally see his face but instead of happiness, he looked confused. I further explained, "I don't want you to think that I am taking you in as payment to get your people to safety. That's why I am doing the move before officially making you mine. I hope you understand my decision."

He absentmindedly nodded his head as he tried to absorb what I just said. We both stayed quiet for a few minutes just chilling with each other's presence. After a while, he gasped remembering something as he said, "Oh, I needed to report something that's why I am here!"

I giggled at his silly and cute reaction. He looked at me as if I was crazy and asked grumpily, "What are you laughing at? This is the third time already! What is so funny, huh?"

I kept my giggles in and answered, "I just find you cute and adorable. That's all. And, what do you need to report, Prince Void?"

He clicked his tongue and scoffed, "You think we're okay just because I am talking to you? You left me in the middle of... that... It hurt a lot. You cruel woman."

I smiled at him and with a coaxing voice said, "I just felt that it is not yet the right time for that to happen. You are being too eager and impulsive. As I said, I don't want you to think that I am taking you in as a payment for a life-saving favor for your race. I am taking you in because I want you, okay?"

He dismissed me by waving his hand and asked directly, "Fine. Fine. So when are you going to officially take me? You are even keeping that blood demon prince's child and even the children of those fairies when you don't even have a relationship with them. Here I am, kept out in the cold, waiting endlessly for you to pay attention to me."

I laughed out loud at how different his personality became after I accepted him into my life. He now speaks like a spoiled child, a little dramatic at times and quite possessive too.

I answered his complaints by stealing a quick kiss from his lips then I explained that I am currently on a mission and traveling to the northern military camps so I can't be with him for now. He looked at me then sighed. He said that he knows I am on a mission that is why he has to wait till I was on the road and alone before appearing since he can't just appear in front of a bunch of humans.
