Chapter 158: Family troubles
After leaving from the infirmary, Theo went toward his brother's room. He was sure that he would definitely be in his room.
Yet there was a problem.
"Young master Theo, would you like any help?" A guard from the side asked after crouching down.
"Thank you, but there is no need. I am just strolling around," Theo spoke and went past the guard.
The guard only looked at him move past and went back to his duty with a shrug.
That was the third guard that had offered his help to him.
'Sorry Elias, you're going to be chewed out by them all,' Theo thought with a chuckle.
There was no way that none of them would complain to the family members about the youngest heir moving around without his attendant.
And with Alfred, the infamous informant of the Barony, there was just no getting out of the situation peacefully.
With another two guards asking him why he was alone and alright, Theo finally reached the gate of his brother's room.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
He knocked and waited for a few seconds. When there was no response even then, he could tell that the guy was not in his room right now.
'He isn't in the room… then where is he?' Theo thought.
There were only a few places a boy like him would be at, who was not attending the academy and was not allowed to enter the town.
Theo thought for a moment before he started walking again, there were a few more guards that were perplexed by him walking alone but Theo went past them all before finally reaching the shared training space of him and Bram.
But to his surprise, the guy was not even there. This time, Theo frowned; now he was too curious to find his elder brother.
A moment of silence later, Theo finally realized something, and he clicked his tongue in annoyance.
'If what I am thinking is right… then I really need to hurry.'
This time around, Theo did not even bother to convey his thoughts to the guards passing by. He was done by now. It was rude, but as the youngest noble of this household, there were times that he could just use it and his young age to get out of some situations.
Theo brisked toward the open lobby that was nearest to Bram's room. He could hear the voices of children playing before he even set foot inside.
When he was close enough, he peeked inside the lobby first to discern the situation. It was not always bad that the children Bram's age were playing.
Theo had thought about it before. While observing him, Bram had started to copy most of the habits he had developed. It had made Bram train harder than any of the Merrick that were near his age—except Theo.
When Theo himself could realize that his aggressive training and leveling strategy was bad even for him, but due to his unique affinity situation, not even the Baron tried to stop him.
But that was not what he wanted for Bram, so Theo decided to change his tactic. ThefullseriesishostedonMyVirtualLibraryEmpire,knownasMV7LEMPYR.
Yet when he looked at the situation, he couldn't have been more wrong. Bram was there with them, running around panicked.
The twins were the only ones who were laughing in that room. Celeste had something in her hand that was making Bram follow her.
Theo observed the situation for a while and couldn't help but frown.
'He is so much faster than both of them… why is he just whining right now?' Theo questioned himself with frustration.
Bram had all the cards in his hands when it came to stopping this bullying. He was stronger, both in terms of his tamed beast and his physique.
One of the twins, Gideon, was a tad taller than him, yet there was a clear difference in their builds. Bram was a lot more muscular.
"AHAHAHHA~ Get this from me! Why are you so slow, Bram?!" Celeste shouted while laughing. Bram was just behind her, yet he did nothing but try to persuade her to give it back.
"Please give it back, elder sister! I-It's important to me!" Bram shouted in a crying voice.
Both Gideon and Celeste laughed even harder at his crying.
All three attendants just stayed there while looking at each other; they did nothing but watch.
Theo did not care that they had a disappointed expression on their faces. What mattered was that they were not helping at all.
With a sigh, he finally entered the room with fake expressive eyes.
"Elder sister, pass it here quick!" Theo shouted in the most childish voice he could muster.
Celeste didn't stop running but looked at Theo. Her eyes were sparkling while looking at him.
"Heheheh~ Here!" She threw the small object toward Theo, who caught it with fake joy, and a light smirk formed on his face.
"Y-Younger brother…" Bram stopped completely and looked at Theo with wide eyes. It was as if he couldn't understand the situation at all.
Theo finally looked at the object in his hand—it was a small black-colored gem with a carved smile on it.
When Theo saw that imperfect little smile on the luxurious gem, he was surprised. It was not something that could be sold; it was not that great. But seeing Bram so desperate to get it back connected some dots.
'He made this?' Theo thought and finally looked at Bram, who was looking at him with tears bawling out.
'This is amazing...' Theo thought while looking at the stone, it took a lot of effort to carve something like this and precision too. The smile had some imperfections but still, it was great for what a boy age nine could make.
It was a new side of Bram that Theo didn't know about yet and it made him a little happy before the anger came welling again.
"What are you doing, Theo?! RUN!" Celeste shouted with excitement.
Yet Gideon just looked at Theo and clicked his tongue.
Theo made his way toward Bram slowly. There was seriousness on his face.
"I- Can you please give that back?" Bram asked politely yet again, this time, to his own younger brother.
Theo gritted his teeth in anger. Looking at Bram right now, his blood was boiling.
He moved his hand out and passed the gem back to Bram who hugged the stone tight in his arms as if someone else would take it from his again.
"…What was the point of getting this strong… elder brother?" Theo asked with an angry tone.
Bram's attendant looked at the situation and panicked. If Theo was to vent his anger right now on Bram, she didn't know how Bram would take it.
