Chapter 13: New world
Astra laid near the edge of a cliff, staring up to the bright morning sky as the morning breeze passed her by, her body riddled in scratches and bruises as the clouds soared over her.
"I've been here forever…" She groaned softly, reaching to trace the edge of her face, her soft fingers long since hardened to her struggles of surviving. Slowly she sat up, her gaze narrowing to the horizon before her. Trees move on for miles the only break from the bland scenery being a volcano that peaked over head.
"That's fine though–" She huffed, her chest out and her hands on her hips. "I got off a planet before so I can do it again! Screw technology, I'll reinvent the wheel!"
"We're gonna do this, as many times as it takes, right Yuz– right, well, Celi you'll have to do for now!" She announced with a grin.
[Great…] Celi said in an almost sarcastic tone,
"The first thing we need is a weapon," Astra comments, folding her arms as she thought. "Last night, that thing attacked me with what seemed like a blade of sharpened stone, like a katana but primitive! It's blade like that of a saw— striking and pulling, over and over again, they have the strength to pull it off clearly!"
"They think differently from humans, yet so similar, but if they're still in the stone age then taking over won't be an issue," She chuckled, waving her hands dismissively at the possibility of failing, spitting in the face of the concept entirely.
"You messed with the wrong race, now i'll do what humans do best, take over and fuck shit up!" her hand reaches to her forehead, as if masking her gaze from the glare of the rising sun that peaked from the far off trees. "Yeah, this is the dawn of a new age alright…"
"Celi! Is the scan ready yet?" She pondered, not taking her gaze from in front of her for a moment, rather, she refused to, almost as if she was scared she'd miss something, something beyond her reach.
[Affirmative!]
[Planet added to the planet encyclopedia!]
[Planet's name: Lunara! Also known as second earth!]
[Creatures bear a resemblance to earth! Currently nestled in the galaxy untouched by humanity due to its primitive nature, the founder, Fuji Torenz deemed it the Heian galaxy, that of peace and tranquility, a galaxy that knows no war it has the lowest value planets on the S.T.A.R scale!]
"So no one sees this galaxy as a threat, Is that it?" She pondered.
[Affirmative!]
[Foreign wildlife includes]
[Aelvarians: Their very resourceful yet peaceful creatures, they hunt for sport and it's a testament to their strength, they split into multiple factions!]
[Hunters, that are mainly men! They're as proud as they come when it comes to their abilities, and get easily agitated and competitive when the slightest hint of contest or condescendance when mocked, especially by prey!]
[scouts, they heard wildlife like cattle, making sure none goes extinct from their hunts, while at the same time ensuring they stay far away from their homelands they tend to be female and have way better eyesight than their hunter counterparts!]
[Priests, they pray to the god of the land, often performing ceremonies for a hunter's return after many days, or helping in crisis like droughts!]
"So they're pretty much organized huh—" Astra commented.
[Affirmative! They even have their own language which is now your knowledge!]
Astra looked taken aback by the sudden info, she looked at her palm as though trying to gauge how she felt but there was no difference.
"I need to know their locations," Astra instructed, watching as the screen loaded before her, showing her the map of the world. It was just a huge rock with many passageways for waters and rivers that circles Lunara, and a single patch of sea insight.
"So the whole world's a forest…"
[They reside in the deep south as one nation, though their numbers are many,]
"Do they choose a leader in any way?"
[that comes down to blood, but if you were to challenge them in some way then…]
"Will I be able to be seen as their leader?"
[That's the theory…] Celi went quiet for a minute, almost as if thinking of a response.
[Question,]
"Yeah? What's up?" Astra said, almost sounding distracted by the map before her.
[You mention taking over the planet, but that has nothing to do with your current goals,]
"Oh that," She murmured thoughtfully as if trying to explain her answer right then and there. "Before, when I was in that void, mindspace—whatever… I was shrouded by confusion and fear, but to be completely honest, what that thing said was right, this universe had no place for abnormals,"
[You intend to make one…] Celi finished, her words almost thoughtful as she tried to calculate Astra's mindset, the accurate prediction only made the young technician smirk wide, her theory not too far off the realms of logic.
"Believe me, I still don't know what the term 'anomaly' fully means (heck I still feel human…), but so many people have called me that lately, so it kinda just stuck, and you know what? It's my title so I'll wear it proudly," She chuckled softly, before her fists tighten with defiance.
"Though I'd be damned if I let what I am— no, WHO I am get dragged in the mud for long! It's what Samuel would've wanted…" She muttered, her voice going softer and soon to a somber tone.
There was a moment of silence after her words, the wind continuing to sweep her hair off her shoulders, the back of her hand slowly and softly wiping her gaze.
"Besides, these powers are awesome, who wouldn't want this? Right?" She laughed. "Besides, I haven't been slacking off on using them either… I've come up with a fair bit of tricks to get used to these portal things during the week,"
"I'll make a high value planet out of you yet… Oh yeah, this is it. Get excited, Aelvarians!
"I'll show you the stars myself!" Her hand stretched to the volcano, pointing at its dormant peak that's been inactive for generations, "And I know just how to do it!"
