Chapter 141 Divine Blood Elixir
Divine Blood Elixir!
While the name might sound ordinary, the effects of this Divine Elixir were astonishing.
It was a Supreme Divine Elixir on par with the Sovereign's, its purpose being to allow a supreme being sufficient blood soul vitality to break through the Sovereign realm.
However, its production required extremely harsh ingredients, needing the flesh and spirit soul of the Sovereign God as the main material, along with a large number of auxiliary materials.
Although there were Sovereign Gods within Chu Yuan's empire, it would be impossible to use their lives for Alchemy. After a moment of contemplation, he summoned several of the War Gods.
"War God, these materials will require your efforts to collect. If possible, slay a being comparable to the Sovereign within Tian Duan." Ji Zhong, "You have a better understanding of Tian Duan Mountain; you will be the guide."
Chu Yuan handed over the list to the War God, which included some auxiliary materials for the cultivation fluid of the Cang Qiong War Body.
"A being comparable to the Sovereign?"
Ji Zhong pondered and then abruptly said, "Your Majesty, I know where on Tian Duan Mountain such a creature exists. A hundred years ago, I visited Tian Duan Mountain and encountered a Divine Beast of the Sovereign God. It almost ate me, and I know where its lair is. It is likely not to have moved to another area within a hundred years."
"Good, the Thunder Beast will go with you."
Chu Yuan waved his hand.
"Let's go, set off for Tian Duan Mountain!"
The War God, Thunder Beast, and Ji Zhong took on the task and proceeded straight to Tian Duan Mountain.
"Hehe, you're out for revenge this time, aren't you?" the Thunder Beast voiced Ji Zhong's thoughts.
Ji Zhong felt somewhat embarrassed.
"Enough, Thunder Beast. Slaying that Sovereign Beast will benefit the Divine Martial Dynasty. We are all working for the Dynasty," said the broad-shouldered War God to the Thunder Beast.
The Thunder Beast fell silent. In the Divine Martial Dynasty, he only feared two individuals: one was His Majesty, and the other was the War God. Both had given him a severe thrashing at one time or another.
It hadn't been long since the Thunder Beast had made his breakthrough to Sovereign, and he went rushing to challenge the War God, only to end up miserably beaten.
Tian Duan Mountain was immense, with peaks stretching continuously, and each mountain posed a significant challenge even for a Sovereign to climb.
"When in the Divine Martial Heavens, I never imagined there could be such colossal mountain ranges, like light-years of the heavens, and yet, the entire Tian Duan Mountain is just a single region within the Multi-Verse."
The War God sighed.
He looked out toward the vast horizon, thinking of the time when the Heavenly Emperor and the others had left without knowing where they went. However, as long as they were not dead, they should have also become Sovereigns, and perhaps in the future, they might even ascend to the Supreme.
Of course, he did not envy them.
The War God knew well that with His Majesty, the universe was vast.
Navigating through Tian Duan Mountain range was complex due to the dangerous and complicated geographical environment. Some places were incredibly perilous, where stepping in without prior reconnaissance and mapped dangers could mean even a Sovereign might perish normally.
"Although the Multi-Verse doesn't have the same Universal Cycle Calamity as before, the environment here is much more treacherous and dangerous."
The War God stated, "Lately, the Divine Dynasty's scouting army has suffered significant casualties in their efforts to survey Tian Duan Mountain."
Ancient trees soared to the heavens. Since it was a mountain, there were trees, but the trees here were very different from what he remembered—they were gigantic and ancient.
"Be cautious, there are fearsome Divine Beasts here!"
Ji Zhong warned.
Suddenly, hundreds of thousands of giant birds, each with iron feathers, flew past in the sky—a dense flock, each at least as powerful as a Universe God, and among them were numerous Immortals and Supreme Beings.
"Iron Feather Birds, one of the most common Divine Beasts on Tian Duan Mountain, flocking together, they have quite an advantage in numbers," Ji Zhong explained.
The Iron Feather Birds seemed to feel the presence of the War God and their group. Even though they possessed formidable strength, their intelligence was relatively lower. They shot their fierce claws toward them.
"A bunch of scruffy birds daring to offend Lord Thunder," the Thunder Beast raged, and his lightning cracked, turning swathes of Iron Feather Birds into charred remains.
"Don't electrocute them all, capture them and extract the essence of their flesh and blood," commanded the War God, instructing it to be gentle in its handling.
"Okay, I got it."
The lightning net was woven, capturing all several hundred thousand armored birds in one fell swoop.
Ji Zhong wiped the sweat from his brow. The War God, like him, a Sovereign of the First Heavenly Layer, but their individual combat strength was too formidable; each could easily beat him in a fight.
They continued to advance, encountering many assaults, thankfully all from Sovereign Gods, and since it wasn't the most central area of Mount Tian Duan, there wasn't much danger.
Crossing another mountain range, they saw a vast tract of land shrouded in layers of energy.
The War God tore open a crack and saw that within the land, a copious amount of rare Divine Drugs grew, some of which could be eaten raw to enhance a Sovereign God's cultivation.
"So many Divine Drugs!"
Ji Zhong's eyes lit up.
Too many unexplored regions lay within Mount Tian Duan; it was quite normal to have undiscovered places.
He suggested, "No one knows about the Divine Drugs here, why don't we—?"
"Don't even think about these Divine Drugs."
The War God knew his thoughts and said sternly, "These Divine Drugs must be carefully harvested, not with brute force, or their medicinal properties will be destroyed. We don't have the time for this. Mark the location on the map, and wait for His Majesty to send people to harvest them."
"Kid, remember, don't be greedy for immediate gains. His Majesty can give us much more."
The Thunder Beast also reminded him.
Those who had just been conquered by the Divine Martial Dynasty were still unclear about His Majesty.
His Majesty was that sort of ruler who was extremely cruel to enemies but very kind to his own people, and wouldn't forget them when it came to sharing the spoils.
"Yes, yes, yes."
Ji Zhong felt this empire was completely different from anything he had encountered before and quickly added, "We are almost there; I hope it hasn't left."
"Let's speed up."
The War God and his team increased their pace.
Half a month later, a large mountain came into view, with a cave dwelling being excavated there, its interior dark and sinister, emitting an exceptionally foul stench.
Ji Zhong's nose twitched and he said, "Good, it hasn't left. It's still there."
"Spirit Exploration Compass!"
In the War God's hand, a compass spun, revealing a large luminous spot, to which he nodded, "Sovereign of the First Heavenly Layer's strength. Thunder Beast, take action and blast it out."
"Ha ha, leave it to me!"
With radiant splendor, the Thunder Beast laughed boisterously. With a single breath, it launched an attack that made the entire mountain tremble and collapse, sweeping away the darkness inside.
A roar was heard, and a pitch-black serpent, with antler-like protrusions as if on the cusp of dragonhood, darted out.
"This black snake, it's the dominator of this region, having devoured many masters—last time I nearly fell into its clutches!"
Ji Zhong exclaimed.
The black snake was incredibly strong, rumored to have the bloodline of a hell demon dragon, capable of spewing destructive black flames, and ordinary Sovereigns were no match for it.
"Just a big black snake, let's see whether it's more ferocious or I am!"
The Thunder Beast stepped forward, majestic as if the Thunder God himself had descended, turning the mountain into a scene of divine tribulation.
The black dragon bared its teeth in a grimace, squinting its eyes, trying to outdo the Thunder Beast in ferocity.
Don't be fooled; although the Thunder Beast appeared docile in front of Chu Yuan and the War God, it was actually an exceedingly savage creature.
After a standoff with the black snake, the serpent suddenly let out a mournful cry of fear and turned to flee.
"Where do you think you're going? Don't let that big black snake escape; it's mine—no, it's His Majesty's!"
The Thunder Beast bellowed loudly.
