Chapter 5: [005] Aren’t you unhappy being ridden by me?
Soon, a strange scene appeared on the streets of the capital of Deya.
A burly man with a fierce face and a thick beard was riding two centaur girls side by side beneath him, with two more following behind.
One man riding two?
This, this, this is a double ride?!
Originally, centaur girls are supposed to be much more robust than ordinary humans, but under the exaggerated physique of this bearded giant, they appeared incredibly petite and… pitiful. They looked like stalks of wheat in a gale, ready to snap at any moment, and their trembling thighs and bodies already proved this.
So pitiful, truly too pitiful.
Those who witnessed this scene couldn't help but want to cover their eyes, not wanting to see any more. Just imagining the tragic story behind this sight was enough to conjure countless heartbreaking scenarios, and even the glance at Aesop on horseback couldn't help but carry a hint of disdain.
Why waste money on a dream demon when you can just torment centaur girls?
However, Aesop was oblivious to the thoughts of the onlookers. He was striking a pose, arms crossed, trying hard to mimic the expressions of the big men he had seen in the tavern, looking as imposing as a mountain.
Although he had little knowledge of the outside world, Aebul regarded his learning ability as a once-in-a-millennium talent, so at this moment, his imitation of the wild mercenaries was remarkably lifelike. It truly made one think he was that wealthy and powerful scoundrel who deliberately tormented these centaur girls, which meant no one suspected he was the arcane genius that only existed in rumors.
When encountering such a strange situation, the kingdom's guards would usually step in to inquire. However, since their most urgent task was to find Aesop and prevent their princess from seeking out a dream demon, they ignored this bizarre scene and allowed this strange procession to leave the capital.
Once out of the capital, Aesop felt the wind blowing in from the fields, as if he finally understood the meaning of freedom. He felt refreshed, unable to suppress a smile.
If he had shown his original handsome face, his smile would have been charming.
But with his current face, it only served to frighten people, making passersby shudder and hasten their departure.
Not long after leaving the capital, the two centaur girls behind him ran ahead with worried expressions and asked,
"Big sister, should we take turns?"
"Yeah, it seems like you're getting a bit exhausted."
Before Aesop made his offer, the centaur girls thought, "I'm a person, not a horse! I wouldn't torture my body like an animal!"
After Aesop made his offer, the centaur girls thought, "I may not be human, but I'm a horse girl after all. Although I don't want to overexert myself, it's hard to refuse this money."
After Aesop raised his offer, the centaur girls only thought, "I was born a horse, meant to be ridden, please don't treat me like a human!"
So they decided to work together, planning to take turns carrying Aesop to his destination.
"Uh..." The most slender centaur girl, Xiaona, who was the first to offer to let Aesop ride, turned back to glance at him and said with confusion, "You might not believe it, but this gentleman... doesn't seem very heavy."
"Ah? How is that possible?!"
"Xiaona, are you dreaming?"
"We're helping you because we're worried about your health, not because we're greedy for that little bit of money!"
The other two centaur girls immediately chimed in.
But what they didn't know was that Aesop really wasn't very heavy.
Although Aesop lacked common sense, it didn't mean he was an idiot. He was quite aware of what weight could be fatal. So he cast a weight-reducing spell on himself. Thus, while he looked intimidating on the outside, his actual weight was perfectly normal.
"Alright, don't overthink it. Xiaona is right," the lead centaur girl beneath Aesop said straightforwardly, understanding what the other two were thinking. "This gentleman really isn't heavy. With me and Xiaona, it's enough. But since we're all together now, let's not separate. When we're tired, we'll let you ride, and we can split the commission from the gentleman equally among the four of us."
Only then did the other two centaur girls feel relieved.
At the beginning, Xiao Na pouted a bit unhappily.
If she had known that this customer would be so light, she should have told him earlier, "Please don't pity me, I'm enough for you to ride alone." Then she wouldn't have to share the money, and after this ride, she could go home and get married, never to be ridden again.
At that moment, the leading sister also looked at Aesop, this very strange customer.
This journey was not short, so she wanted to figure out what this customer was all about. Cautiously, she asked, "Sir, may I ask what you intend to do in the town?"
The town they were heading to was in another country, quite a distance from the Kingdom of Dea, requiring at least half a month of travel. Yet Aesop didn't bring any luggage, which puzzled the centaur girls.
"What do I want to do?" Aesop pondered for a moment, feeling there was nothing to hide, and replied straightforwardly, "I'm looking for a dream demon!"
"Pfft!"
The older sister and Xiao Na almost bit their tongues.
This guy's (in their eyes) answer was too honest; he really didn't see them as outsiders.
The older sister laughed awkwardly, "Customer, you're really carefree."
Aesop sensed something was off from their words and asked curiously, "Is there a problem? To be honest, I still don't quite understand what a dream demon is."
Not quite understanding what a dream demon is? Was he joking?
The centaur girls exchanged glances, momentarily unsure how to respond. It was Xiao Na who hesitated for a moment before tentatively saying, "A dream demon is… a woman who exchanges her body for money, right?"
"Oh, I see." Aesop nodded, "I understand, just like you guys."
Centaurs: "?"
"What do you mean we're just like you?!" The youngest, Xiao Na, immediately flushed red, "When did we sell our bodies?!"
"Right now," Aesop said, "Aren't you letting me ride you?"
Centaurs: "…"
They felt something was wrong but didn't know how to refute it, and the atmosphere suddenly became awkward.
"Did I say something wrong?" Aesop scratched his head, "Or are you unhappy about me riding you?"
The older sister thought this customer was really strange; continuing the conversation could lead to trouble, so she cleared her throat and said, "We're, we're quite happy, this customer. Please hold on tight, we're going to speed up. Our speed is fast, you can grab onto something to maintain your balance…"
Grab onto something?
Aesop looked at the smooth backs of the centaur girls and thought there was nothing to grab onto.
After observing for a moment, Aesop noticed there seemed to be something to hold onto in front.
So…
Smack.
Xiao Na and the older sister were momentarily stunned, then lowered their heads.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!"
