Chapter 56: Chapter 56: The Crusher~ Regular maintenance costs 5 million valis?
Maybe that was the hallmark of blacksmith Familia's? After all, this familia was full of burly men.
Ais gave a slightly stiff smile to the clearly disappointed Fron, while Tiona walked in casually with her arms behind her head.
-------------------------------
"We're coming in!"
"Welcome... nani, it's you again!!! [Crusher]!"
"Ugh, don't call me that stupid, awful nickname! I'm Tiona Hiryute, not some Crusher!!!"
"M-Master, the Crusher is back again!"
"Hey hey hey, I'm here to pick up weapons, I already arranged it with your master and the others!"
"Ah... ah, so the original passed the defense standards, huh!"
Hearing this, the blacksmith immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
Fron and Ais stood side by side behind Tiona, twitching at the corners of their mouths as they watched the comedic scene.
Seems like these blacksmiths don't have it easy either, after all, that giant twin-blade [Urga] must've used up a ton of Mithril!
As Mithril second only to the hardest metal [Orichalcum] in both performance and hardness, just refining it into high-grade metal takes who-knows-how-much effort.
Equipment made from Mithril is usually first-tier adventurer gear, and only the top-level blacksmiths have the skills and techniques to work with it.
Not to mention the massive density and size of a giant twin-blade.
The processing cost alone was 120 million, no wonder it's heavy quality.
"Crusher, here's your giant twin-blade, it's all ready."
"The [Sword Princess]'s [Desaperate] is over with the main god, you'll have to go get it yourself."
Ais nodded silently and suddenly took Fron's hand, pulling him into the back room.
"!!!!??"
The group of blacksmiths instantly froze in place, their eyes popping out!
As the two moved, necks creaked and cracked as everyone turned to follow.
"Hey, Crusher. Was that really the doll-like [Sword Princess]? Did she just take the initiative to grab a guy's hand???"
"Hehehe, pretty shocking, huh?"
"Masaka... [It can't be~~]"
"Masaka... that [Sword Princess] actually has someone she likes? This is a major event shaking all of Orario!!!"
Tiona's mouth twitched as she watched the group of blacksmith's screaming with their heads in their hands, and she sighed and shook her head.
"Is it really that big a deal? Sigh."
In the inner room, there was only one divine being, an elderly god.
His wrinkled face was okay, with a high nose bridge. He had a head of white hair and a beard long enough to cover his mouth.
His burly body had no excess fat, just firm muscle, vaguely reminiscent of a dwarf. Overall, he looked slim but well-built.
This was the main god of the [Goibniu Familia], Goibniu himself, same trade, same forge, same hidden name.
"The [Sword Princess], huh. Perfect timing, your weapon is ready."
The god took Ais' custom weapon, still in its sheath, off the wall and handed it to her by the middle.
Ais took it without a word, unsheathing the thin sword with a "shing" and inspecting it closely.
"It's in much better shape than before. If it were like this every time, I'd have it easier."
Fron, of course, knew why it had been easier to maintain this time.
Maybe it was because Ais wore the [Suppressor Bracelets] and was using the sword in the "Middle" or "Lower" floors.
Compared to the toughness of the monsters in the "Deep" floors, their resistance was much milder , which is why the sharpness was still intact.
"Th-thank you."
"Um... the cost is?"
"Five million valis."
Fron's eyes widened in shock.
Holy crap, just regular maintenance costs 5 million valis?
This... this is first-tier adventurer gear, alright. I'm in love. This made Fron even more determined to craft a weapon with the same properties as his black dagger.
"I'll... pay you back later."
"I've got it, you can just reimburse me later."
Fron held Ais back and paid the fee for her.
"?"
Even the god Goibniu raised an eyebrow in surprise, as if their relationship seemed a bit too close.
"He's Fron. Fron Argon. My... partner."
"Ah, Lord Goibniu, nice to meet you. As Ais said, I'm Fron Argon, also from the Loki Familia, and a newcomer."
"Oh? It's been a long time since I've seen such an excellent young man."
Goibniu examined Fron carefully. Who knows what he saw, but a slight smile appeared on his previously stern face.
"Looks like you don't have a weapon that suits you yet? Want to forge one here?"
"Uh... my apologies, Lord. I might disappoint you. I'm actually a blacksmith myself."
Goibniu squinted and nodded slightly.
"You want to forge your own weapon, huh? I get it, I understand that feeling very well."
Fron quickly bowed in apology.
"Sorry."
"It's fine, I overstepped."
"But, I have a favor to ask... would you be willing to hear it, Lord Goibniu?"
"Let's hear it."
"It's like this..."
...
...
"I'm off now , take care of yourselves, alright!"
"Damn [Crusher], stop bringing us weird trouble again!"
"Yeah, you Crusher, get lost already!"
"Jeez, I'm being hated again."
Fron laughed and shook his head:
"Just thinking about how much Mithril had to be refined to make your weapon... the effort must've been crazy."
"Eh? Even you, Fron?"
"Well, as blacksmiths... a huge order like that is something they'd probably welcome, right?"
"Of course! I racked up a huge debt back when I had that twin-blade made!"
Just then, Ais spoke up, a bit shyly:
"Um... I'll repay you later, for the fee."
"No rush. With your earning power, 5 million is nothing."
Reassuring Ais, Fron and the others walked out of the shabby alleyway.
In the industrial district, workers and merchant guild people bustled about. As Orario's largest industry hub, this place was truly the city's heart.
Adventurers recovered magic stones from the dungeon, which the guild collected and sent to be processed into various magic stone products, sold by merchants around the world.
So no matter the time, even midnight, this place remained just as busy. Its lively atmosphere rivaled that of the South District's busiest streets.
"Let's go. Since we're here, want to stop by the workshop?"
After checking his surroundings, Fron realized his own little forge wasn't far.
"Sure, are you going to make equipment?"
Tiona instantly lit up with interest, skipping ahead and turning around to ask.
"Yeah, I got a lot of materials from the labyrinth this time. If I forge it all and sell it, I can make a decent profit , and most importantly, I can learn and improve in the process."
"Awesome! We've got nothing to do anyway, let's go, let's go!"
Ais, walking beside Fron, also nodded. She was actually quite curious.
As the only blacksmith and item-maker in the Loki Familia, Fron had high expectations riding on him.
"Mm, let's go."
Hearing this, Fron smiled.
"Alright then, let's go."
