Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Fron regretted deeply, wishing his backpack were bigger~
"Stay alert. Guarding the camp is just as important, it concerns whether we can return safely to the surface. Maintain vigilance at all times."
"Understood."
-----------------------------
"I'm going ahead, you guys better keep up!"
The five-member second squad had already split from the first squad and entered another branch path.
As the vanguard, Tiona shouted while facing the monster blocking her path, then sprinted forward, swinging her massive weapon [Orga] in a fierce slash that tore through the air.
And then… under everyone's gaze, the large monster radiating a dangerous aura, [Black Rhinos], was split cleanly in two from top to bottom in one strike.
Seeing her easily wield such a terrifyingly heavy weapon, the elven girl Lefiya looked utterly doubtful about life itself.
"Tiona's strength, endurance, dexterity, and agility have all reached rank A with 900 points before levelling up,"
Ais kindly explained to the two of them the fundamental reason why she could swing such a massive twin blade as effortlessly as a short sword.
"...."
Lefiya nearly fainted, rolling her eyes, and even Fron's mouth twitched continuously.
Who was the real hexagonal warrior here? This Amazoness girl was way too aggressive, having four A's just like that.
And now… after training so long while wearing [Suppression Bracers], their stats probably had four S's already, one more than Ais. No wonder her combat power was so exaggerated.
"Hehehe, now all four of my attributes are S rank, thanks to Fron's magic item. Too bad I don't have enough excelia, otherwise I'd already be level 6."
"Focus, Tiona."
"Relax, relax, I'm watching."
"Tiona, incoming again!"
"Got it!"
Then, a sharp roar came from a monster charging toward them.
Compared to Tiona's agility, Ais was clearly a step faster.
The silver rapier flashed in an instant, slicing the charging monster that attacked them with brute force cleanly in half.
Her golden hair danced wildly behind her as Ais twirled through the monster's attack like a graceful dancer.
The silver sword light intersected in intricate patterns, her nimble footwork spinning her body, combining elegant posture, divine beauty, and swordsmanship so artistic it befitted her title as the [Sword Princess].
Meanwhile, on the other side, Tiona, who had already rushed in, kept swinging her massive weapon with relentless force, clashing directly with the monsters.
"Fron, cover that idiot sister of mine, she's overextended again!"
"Lefiya, keep your magic on standby for any emergencies."
"Understood."
Looking at Tiona, who was fighting fiercely among the monster horde some distance away, Fron raised an eyebrow.
"[Black Rhinos], potential ability Level 5 monster. That'll do just fine."
The [Black Rhinos], born on the deep 51st floor, was a large-type monster over two meters tall.
It walked with a forward-leaning bipedal stance, its muscular body combined with armor-like hide made it a genuine living tank.
Compared to the Fomoire they fought on the 49th floor, its toughness made that one look like a joke.
Even for top-level Level 4 adventurers, half-hearted attacks could never break through its armor, it was a true monster.
"But…"
Fron raised his hand from under his cloak, using the short-chant magic he learned from the elven magic corps.
"[O light, hasten forth and tear through the darkness, ]"
The short chant echoed from his mouth, attracting Tione and Ais's attention.
"[Executor, I am the light spirit, incarnation of light, sovereign of brilliance, ]"
A dazzling pure-white magic circle expanded in front of his palm, about a meter in diameter.
"[Light Burst!]"
, !
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!"
The massive light cannon was a whole circle larger than Lefiya's single-target magic, shooting forward in a straight path, narrowly passing Tiona and instantly piercing through two hundred meters of tunnel ahead.
The result… every monster charging at them along the way, even the ones just landing, were completely erased by the light cannon that pierced through the labyrinth, leaving not even magic stones behind.
Tiona stiffly turned her head, stunned, not even minding her singed bangs from the magic blast.
Ais' sword paused briefly before she quickly sliced another monster apart.
Tione, standing behind, facepalmed and sighed.
Lefiya, the elven girl, was utterly frozen, her delicate body stiff as stone.
"?"
"That's… not what Miss Alicia's magic looked like?"
Fron himself stared blankly at his palm, dumbfounded.
The short-chant light-attribute spell was, literally, a true light cannon.
Though it lacked the homing properties of Lefiya's single-target magic, it was short-chant and still massively overpowered.
"Well, Riveria said your firepower was enough to handle monsters down here. I thought she was exaggerating, but it seems I underestimated you… you really are level 5."
Tione put away her curved blades, shrugged, and walked over.
After Ais finished off the last monster, the supporters Fron and Lefiya began recovering magic stones on the ground, handing potions to the others to restore stamina.
Once the work was done, the team began moving toward their destination again.
The five of them walked in single file: Tiona leading, followed by Ais, Lefiya, Fron, and Tione at the rear.
"This run's been pretty fruitful. We've only gone halfway so far."
"These are high-purity magic stones from the 51st floor. If Fron and Lefiya fill their bags, we can make a huge profit."
"Uh… aren't we taking the drop items?"
Fron's eyes turned red at the sight of the [Black Rhinos] drops: "Black Rhinos Horn" and "Rhino Hide."
These were drops from a 51st-floor monster, worth at least hundreds of thousands each!
"The horns and hides take up too much space. Forget them for now. Let's finish the adventurer's commission first and collect them on our way back."
At this moment, Fron regretted deeply, wishing his backpack were bigger.
In fact, this pack was already as big as Lili's, but clearly… it was still not enough for deep-floor drop items.
...
After all, most monsters here were large-type, and their drop items were all massive, practically taking up half the space immediately.
Thus, the group proceeded according to the map's route.
But as they moved forward, Fron grew increasingly vigilant and cautious.
When no monsters appeared, the dungeon became eerily silent, an oppressive stillness that invoked boundless fear.
The maze hid unknown dangers that could strike at any moment.
This aura made Fron narrow his eyes, alert to the extreme.
The 51st floor's layout was an unusually rare maze type among known floors: black-purple ground, walls, and ceiling made of unknown material.
The passageways were wide, giving the impression of walking through a giant's palace.
But it was still a maze, not easy to navigate.
Huge uneven steps, T-junctions, and triple or quadruple branching paths made it a complex labyrinth.
"Are you okay?"
Sensing the girl's nervousness ahead, Finn suddenly patted her shoulder and spoke.
"Ah!!!!!!"
"..."
The elven girl screamed in fright, almost collapsing, leaving Fron dumbfounded and amused.
Clearly, her willpower was not as strong as her beautiful, determined face suggested.
"Lefiya?" Ais glanced back while walking, silently asking with her eyes.
"A-Ais, I'm fine! It was just Mr. Fron scaring me half to death."
