Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1049: Memories of the past

[OP: ]

{A few decades ago…}

In the heart of a stunning archipelago, a beautiful city comes to life on a fine afternoon.

The sun shines brightly, casting a warm golden light over the vibrant buildings that line the waterfront.

-Chirp~! Chirp~!

These structures, painted in cheerful colours, blend traditional designs with modern touches. With the natural light, they seem warm, as well as soft.

They have a unique comfort to them… they are normal houses where common people live, and yet, they give a sense of serenity.

-Swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish~.

As the sun begins to lower in the sky, the city sparkles under the warm rays, creating a painting-like scene that feels almost magical.

-Shaaaaaaa…

The docks are alive with activity.

Fishing boats that have come back to their home rock gently on the waves, their nets drying in the sunlight, while luxurious yachts of the nobles and rich gleam nearby.

People gather at waterfront cafes, or as they called it here, in the (Tapi), enjoying fresh seafood and sipping cool beer as they soak up the lively atmosphere.

-Hahahaha…

-Whaaaaa…

The sounds of laughter and conversation fill the air, mingling with the gentle lapping of waves against the shore.

"The calm before a storm…"

The beaches of this land are inviting, with smooth pebbles and soft sand where families and friends relax.

Children play along the water's edge, their joyful shouts echoing as they chase each other through the surf.

Sailboats glide gracefully across the water, their white sails catching the breeze and adding to the beauty of this unrealistic setting.

"Hmmmm…"

On a nearby island stands a tall lighthouse, its white, marble-like constructure making it a striking landmark against the blue sky.

This lighthouse serves as a guiding light for ships navigating through the archipelago's winding channels.

Beneath this striking structure stands a young woman, almost in her twenties, with long blue hair that flows like ocean waves. Her light brown eyes sparkle as she watches over the city and its bustling activity.

"Seems like Those barbarians noticed it as well."

As she gazes out at the sea, her presence adds an enchanting quality to this scene.

A Young lord watching over her territory, her people… and a danger that the others were not yet aware of.

"If they consider the waters of the north their home, they must help us as well."

The wind ruffles her hair gently, mirroring the movement of the water below. She seems to be part of this ultimate landscape before them, a guardian of stories and memories that unfold daily in this vibrant archipelago city.

"They must help us."

She's the young lord of this land. Someone who has yet to succeed the position of the lord, but also someone who is well aware of her position.

She is blessed by the god who governs all waters of this world, the great lord who has complete authority over the waters.

She is young, she is attractive, in her traditional clothing, she also looks as attractive as a goddess, or a maiden.

However, the look in her eyes suggests the concerns that she has instead of joy or awe at the scenery present before her.

"That monster…"

As someone blessed the god of the ocean, she had many abilities.

She could control the waves and make them more powerful than they already are or diminish them completely.

The creatures of the sea were friendly to her, and, aside from that, she also had the ability to see and feel things that normal people could not.

"That beast…"

The concerns present in those eyes were produced by a certain entity currently heading towards them, towards their archipelago, towards their home.

"Just us won't be enough to take it down."

A storm.

A literal storm was heading towards them.

It was bringing strong winds and powerful waves along with it as well, and at the same time, it was worrying those who knew the threat that it was bringing.

"The (Storm Bat)."

Natives of the northwestern sea's deepest parts, the creatures blessed by storm elements and beings that did not like migrating to any other place…

Beings that had the ability to single handedly create a storm so powerful it could destroy any kind of landmass it touches. Read exclusive content at empire

And in the mating seasons like this one, they are always only seen in pairs.

"There's only one."

But the one heading towards them was alone. She wasn't certain yet, but perhaps the one that was heading towards them or passing by them, was searching for their missing partner…

Perhaps they had separated from their partner and were trying to search a way back home.

Or perhaps they were an expecting mother, someone who was finding a space as safe as their home which they had lost.

"Could it be related to the rebellion in the northwest? Father did mention there was a battle near that part…"

She did not know why this creature was coming this way and she did not have to know the reason either.

What mattered right now was the fact that a storm was approaching, and it was going to cover their entire home when it passed from here.

It would engulf the archipelago, and the ocean around it.

From the intensity alone, she already knew it was strong enough to tear down all the strong houses, perhaps even their estate.

The ships that fall in its path would be destroyed instantly, and any living being that is hit by the strong swirling winds brewing around this storm, would be cut into hundreds of thousands of pieces.

"The creature has gone berserk, sadly."

The waves were telling her about the damage that creature had caused already. The waves were also showing her how the creature had lost its mind.

There was no simple way of knowing why it was like that, but she knew there was no way to bring this one back to its senses anymore… and even if there was a way, they did not have the time to look for that way.

"Three days…"

They did not have a lot of time left. They must depart as soon as they can. They must get as much help as possible and, they must defeat that creature before it reaches their home.

"If that's not possible…"

If they could not defeat it within the little time they will have when the creature enters the [Reverse reefs] and slows down, they must at least divert its path.

"But…"

She had no idea how they would be able to handle a creature like that one without her father being there.

Her mother had been ill for a while so she was the only one that could look after the people of this land, she was the acting lord right now, and she must make haste.

"Sister~. Elder sister~."

She was lost in her thoughts when a young voice called her from behind.

"Oh, Lu."

A boy with short blue hair resembling hers, and deep red eyes resembling the setting son on the horizon behind her.

It was her little brother. The strong piece of her weak soul. The boy who will definitely become a great person in the future.

"What brings you out here? Haven't I told you? It's not safe out here."

She gently hit his head and smiled at the young boy while leading him away from the lighthouse.

This much distance was fine, but she had told him again and again to not come to this side as the Mana in this place was not something healthy.

He might get hurt just by being to this side of their house, but the boy just does not listen to her…

"Hehe, I've come to take you back sister~. Mother is waiting for us~."

He was as bright as the brightest rays of that setting sun. The smile that he had was something she wanted to protect with all her heart.

Her sickly mother… she was not well. She says she has gotten old but that is simply not the case.

"Oho? Is it already time for dinner?"

She was the brightest and the toughest Lady she knew… Until her little brother came into this world, she had been as strong as a knight commander at least.

But after him… her health naturally started deteriorating.

However, she never blamed her little child for that.

In fact, she prevented this elder sister from harbouring any ill will towards her as well.

She made her love him three times more than she loved her. And, thanks to her countless tries, she did not have any negative feelings for this bright child either.

He was cool, he was smart, he was healthy, and he was happy.

That's all that mattered to her.

"Let's go then. We shouldn't keep her waiting for us now, should we?"

"No~!"

In the absence of their father, it was her responsibility to protect this bright young soul, as well as her mother who walked a step towards the light at the end of the tunnel each day.

She knew she could not do it by herself, and she knew she did not have much time to go and ask for help from those mainlanders who live in their luxurious house on the mainland and are mostly unaware of the tragedy that they were facing at the moment.

"What are we having for dinner anyway, little hero?"

"Oh… I think it's crabs…" It was obvious from his expression that he did not want to eat whatever was made.

"Is that so? Ah, well, then I should ask them to make a sweet pudding for us as well, right? Dessert, as those foreigners call it. Let's have that today."

"Hmm? Really~?"

"Of course~."

She adored him.

Even to this day, she adored this Little Hero of hers immensely.
