Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1056 How to fight snakes

[OP: ]

"Ptsssss…!"

"Move as discussed! Mages!"

-Ooooooooooooooong!

In the centre of a spacious room, illuminated by warm, golden magical lights, a massive brown snake coiled gracefully, its scales glistening like polished wood.

The creature, stretching an impressive twenty metres in length, and more than six metres with its head raised at their arrival, moved with a fluid elegance that contradicted its size.

Its eyes, sharp and intelligent, flickered with a wild glow, reflecting the enchanting light that filled the room.

The atmosphere here was thick with tension, as if the very air vibrated with the creature's presence.

"Formation 3! Go!"

The party of adventurers standing at the entrance of the room didn't waste even a moment when they entered the place.

They had already prepared a strategy when they sensed the presence of the creature from faraway. They were ready with their plan, so they moved in unison, with the mages first casting a magic barrier around them.

"Haiiiya!"

The creature was of only (Blue) rank. Strong, surely, but nothing before these experienced adventurers.

-Booooooooooom!

Each member of the group was filled with determination and excitement.

They had been waiting for some fun, and now that they were before their first opponent, they could not hold themselves back.

Their leader, the knight of [Rank-5], gripped his longsword tightly and led the charge himself.

Beside him, the other captain wearing the knight armour took out his weapon and swung it brutally, aiming for the head of the creature.

Rein, the mage at the back of the group, whispered some incantations under his breath, gathering energy for a powerful spell.

She was preparing for a (tier-4) spell, the other mages had realised that already, so they covered for him with their (tier-3) spells.

-Swish! Swish! Swish!

The adventurers exchanged glances as they engaged in the battle. They knew that this creature was not just a beast, it was the first obstacle in their path that would give them the idea of the abilities of their companions.

"Captain!"

"Now!"

-Oooooooooong!

When Rein's spell was ready, the signal was sent and the knight captain who was fighting the creature directly, got out of the way.

-Whaaaaaa…!

A powerful crescent moon made of water was created above them, small shards of ice present inside of it.

The magic was of (tier-4), prepared in a record time, something that surprised even Miss Nerissa.

The magic contained the water attribute, and along with it, the higher form of water attribute, the ice.

It was a duel element spell, a difficult kind of spell for the mages like them who had mostly learned from less experienced mages, so they were pretty surprised.

"Ptsssssss…!"

When the spell was fired at the creature, it felt a mortal danger to its life and ignored the full armoured knight's attack and avoided the attack, enduring the attack from the knight.

The creature knew it would have been sliced in half had it been hit by that spell. The way the ceiling of the room had a deep scar on it proved the destructive power of the spell.

The other weapon wielders also found it to be quite the show, so, when they dealt with the distracted creature and took it down, they complimented Rein for her powerful attack.

It was really difficult to process a spell of that level and execute the whole magic without facing backlash.

They did not know how old this lady was, but she surely was not as old as Miss Nerissa, so it was certainly impressive magic.

"Now then…"

They chopped off the creature appropriately before storing it off into the storage devices. The Inventory incharge were the only ones that were taking the loot for now, so no one complained about anything and after a brief rest, they all moved onto the next stage.

There were traps in their path, some of the rooms that they were entering were also filled with traps so they faced difficulties.

Still, as they moved forward, Rein continued using her magic and Eon also showed them something special.

"No way…"

"Hey… is that… real?"

When they were fighting a creature resembling a Cobra-snake with the hoods that had three pairs of extra eyes, a creature three times bigger than the one they fought for the first time, and a being of (Indigo) rank, they were faced with a great enemy.

However, instead of being afraid of the creature, they simply fought it as they usually had.

The only thing different this time was the awakening of the mage partner of the water mage who had been gaining popularity among the group.

"Tri-elemental fusion… just… who are they?"

(tier-4) high ranking magic that used Water, Fire, and Wind magic together, creating a ring of fire known as the (Laso of Fire).

It was not an offensive magic, but it was a combination magic that was only possible if someone had a high degree of affinity for fire, water, and wind elements.

It was rare to see people of more than one elemental affinity. Having a different element's affinity was also different from having affinity for the same element's higher form like his partner did.

It was not the same, and casting a special magic spell of the fusion of multiple elements was not easy.

But, he did it.

He cast the spell, surprised the others, and restricted the creature which had the powerful ability to launch its scales all around them, wounding many of them with the poison that was covered around them.

This ability, though dangerous, had only been effective against a few that could not dodge in time but, even they were immediately treated with the antidotes and the priests.

With the help of the support series, multi-element magic, they crossed the difficult enemy. And, going forward, the knight captain that had hesitated to use these two weird, shady people, asked them for help from time to time.

"Ptsssss…!"

When they were fighting a creature that had coiled around the entire room and was reselsing poisonous gas all around them, the knight captain asked if Eon was able to cast a support series, wind-water element shield spell.

It was called (Hexagon dome) a difficult magic even from the standards of a high mage like Miss Nerissa, but Eon effortlessly cast the magic without hesitation.

-Oooooooooooong!

Thanks to this protective dorm, the knight and the others were protected against the poison fog and dealt with the gigantic creature in a swift manner.

Half a day had passed since they entered the dungeon and they were now nearing the last stage of the dungeon… however, before that…

"Ptssssss…"

They were faced with a creature that, though was considerably smaller than the previous few snakes that they had dealt with…

Stay connected with empire

{ "I see you have invaded again… ptsss… humans." }

This one had the {Mana speech} skill and was able to communicate with the rest of us. And, when they came across this being… they knew they did not have to deal with this one.

{ "Very well, ptssss…" }

The creature was not here to attack them or fight them. It was here to present them with a choice.

{ "Choose, humans…" }

The room that they were in right now was different from the previous rooms that they had been in.

This one had metallic walls.

Miss Nerissa was familiar with this room, though it was a rare occasion to come across one.

This white scaled snake with deep green eyes shining without the reflection of the light was also a familiar entity to her.

However, she did not think they would come across one in this stage of the dungeon.

This was supposed to happen in the last stage of the dungeon, however…

{ "You can leave…. Now, ptssss… with the things you have obtained until now, or, ptsss… you can test your abilities, and earn something you'll like… ptssss…" }

There were three metallic doors to this room, unlike the previous places that only had one gate to pass through.

The three gates had been closed until now, but when the snake spoke those last few words, strange inscriptions appeared on the gates and they opened up.

{ "There are three choices. Ptssss… one will take you… to the outside." }

One of the gates was lit up with dull, white lights.

{ "The other… will take you, ptsssss… to the next chamber of secrets." }

The middle door lit up with green lights, inviting the adventurers that gasped at the strange, unexpected happenings before them.

{ "Lastly…" }

The third gate was lit up with the red light. A bloody red that sent shivers down the spines of many that had their eyes glued to it.

{ "If you believe… you are qualified to succeed the (Fifth Legacy), then go ahead into the path of doom… ptsss…" }

They knew they were not going to go into that path. There was no way they were going to go in there.

{ "Though, be warned, humans." }

[{ "I knew some shit was going to unfold." }]

[{ "Fate, Rein. Our fate has damned us a long time ago." }]

{ "Ptssss… if any one of you chooses to walk the path of doom…" }

The green eyes of the wise snake moved from one human to another, looking deep into their minds, evaluating their souls and their Purity.

{ "The rest must also accompany them into the damned journey, ptsssss…" }

There was a visible surprise in those green eyes when they fell onto Eon, however, the entire giant creature flinched visibly when those same eyes fell onto Rein.

{ "So choose wisely, humans…" }

The creature had found something pretty unexpected.

And, though the decisions of the others were not in its hand… into its tail… into its scales, it knew something interesting was going to unfold here.

Especially, since those Five children were present here.

It could not help its sudden excitement anymore…
