Chapter 137: Visit (First Subscription of 1500 Extras Added)
When Chen Lun left the basement with two bottles of ginger beer and returned to the first floor of the villa, he encountered Connie coming towards him.
"Ah, Mr. Jack, I was just about to go down and look for you."
Connie said.
"The steward Walsh from the Silver Dragon Trade Association just came to inform us that Mr. Noah and Miss Rosa will both be visiting shortly."
"Okay, I understand."
Chen Lun thought for a moment, then handed the Supernatural Wine to Connie, instructing her,
"Chill this bottle for our guests who will arrive soon."
"This… It's already brewed!"
Connie was quite surprised.
Chen Lun flashed a mysterious smile.
"That's a secret."
"Yes, Mr. Jack."
With admiration on her face, Connie took the wine and left.
She thought of Mr. Jack's extraordinary powers and soon felt relieved—
"It seems there's nothing Mr. Jack can't do."
Chen Lun went to the kitchen.
He saw Floey busying herself at the counter.
Noticing the familiar footsteps, she continued chopping onions without turning around and softly said,
"I just heard from Connie about the guests arriving, so I'm preparing a respectable dinner… It's our first time hosting guests, I hope not to embarrass you."
Chen Lun shook his head, chuckling softly,
"You're too modest, Floey. Your cooking is better than anyone's. Besides, you don't need to do this every time…"
With a small smile, Floey expertly dumped the chopped onions into the pot.
"I just enjoy it, cooking calms my mind, and also…"
She turned around, her face adorned with a gentle smile.
"You like to eat."
Chen Lun silently watched her.
Playfully, Floey picked up the hem of her skirt and curtseyed to him.
Then she turned back, picked up a long ladle, and silently began to stir the rich sauce in the pot.
Watching Floey's profile, with her smile still lingering on her lips, Chen Lun felt she had changed a bit, becoming brighter and more vivacious than before.
"You've worked hard, Floey."

As evening approached,
a carriage from the Silver Dragon Trade Association stopped at the entrance of Jack Manor.
The steward Walsh, wearing a round hat, stepped down, and, lifting the carriage curtain, a double cautious Noah extricated himself, the wheels creaking softly.
After alighting, he took a deep breath and, suddenly remembering something, he quickly turned around and gently pulled out a beautiful silver-haired lady.
Noah's face was flush with shyness, his cheeks bright red.
He had only recently accepted the fact that his brother had transformed into his sister, and was still somewhat uncomfortable with it.
"Noah, since we're visiting Mr. Jack, make sure to mind your manners, your bow tie is crooked."
Rosa glanced at her brother and, pulling out a handkerchief, wiped his sweat before straightening the red bow tie on his chest.
"Than... thank you."
Noah, scratching his head, felt extremely embarrassed.
"Let's go."
Rosa took her brother's arm, and the two walked together into the Great Gate of Jack Manor.
At that moment,
she suddenly looked up and caught a glimpse of a Golden-winged Sparrow resting on the bronze statue at the entrance, which seemed to sense her gaze and flew away flapping its wings.
"What is it, sister?"
Noah asked.
"Nothing, let's hurry up; Mr. Jack might already be waiting for us at the entrance."
Rosa said with a light laugh.
Noah gave a shy smile and nodded affirmatively with a hum.
Steward Walsh parked the carriage and quickly followed them, watching the siblings' backs, feeling somewhat sentimental.
This loving scene between the siblings was something he had long hoped for.
Since the incident six years ago when Rex, the young master, had suffered persecution from the Red Apple Church, there had been a shift in Noah's demeanor. Already disinterested in the family business, he had chosen to travel.
Fortunately, the young master Rex had not died and ultimately ascended to become the new supreme leader of the Silver Dragon Trade Association. However, due to the gender transformation, many outsiders were unaware of the truth.
Renamed Rosa, the former young master, now the young miss, had specifically instructed not to tell Noah about this.
This secret had been kept for six years.
Walsh was glad that they had finally recognized each other.
The siblings' figures contrasted greatly; Rosa only reached Noah's waist and looked like beauty and the beast together. Dressed very formally today, one might assume they were going to a banquet.
As they walked deeper into the manor, from a distance, they saw a gentleman in a black suit and hat standing at the entrance.
He stood holding the Silver Staff, his face adorned with a smile.
On either side of him stood a woman—one slightly taller, dressed in a black dress, her light golden hair cascading like a waterfall, her eyes veiled with a peculiar "black satin." The slightly shorter one wore suspenders and her chestnut hair was tied in braids.
"Noah, Miss Rosa, welcome both of you," he said.
Chen Lun stepped forward to greet them.
"We apologize for not informing you a day in advance of our visit, Mr. Jack,"
Rosa said.
Chen Lun shrugged his shoulders, jokingly saying,
"Compared to those trivial formalities, I am more concerned about whether both of you can enjoy yourselves today. Please, come in."
He extended his hand in a guiding gesture, and Rosa, with a coquettish smile, took her brother's arm, and both walked through the main gate of the villa.
The villa at Jack's manor could not compare to Pompey Manor, nor those of other nobles and wealthy merchants, but Rosa and Noah did not mind this.
They had visited more lavish and luxurious estates and had attended dinners hosted by the most illustrious people, yet none compared to this place.
Because it was the residence of Mr. Jack Spett.
"Please, take a seat,"
Chen Lun gestured with his hand and promptly took the main seat himself.
Once Noah and Rosa were seated, Chen Lun quietly instructed Connie to go upstairs and call down Maggie and Golov to join them for the meal.
Shortly, the two came downstairs.
"I would like to introduce to you, these are the newest members of my team, Miss Maggie and Mr. Golov."
"Hello."
Maggie shrugged her shoulders and raised her hand in a wave to Rosa and Noah.
"It's the first time we meet, may the Sun always shine upon you,"
Golov, meanwhile, removed his hat and bowed respectfully, hand on chest.
Rosa and Noah courteously responded.
As Maggie and Golov took their seats, Rosa's lips slightly curled in a smile as she looked toward the dark-haired young man at the head of the table.
"Mr. Jack's team? I am quite curious,"
she said.
Rosa had immediately recognized the transcendental nature of Maggie and Golov. Inside, she also had her suspicions.
Sitting beside her, Noah also cast an investigative glance.
Chen Lun merely smiled.
"Let us eat and talk."
"That's a great idea, Noah and I deliberately skipped afternoon tea, and we are a bit hungry now,"
Rosa said, and right on cue, Noah's stomach growled.
His face immediately turned red.
Chen Lun chuckled lightly and gestured with his hand.
Connie opened the metal lids one by one, releasing a rich fragrance that filled the dining room.
"This is a dinner personally cooked by Floey,"
Chen Lun stated.
Floey, a picture of grace, sat politely, nodding slightly to everyone's gazes.
"It's truly surprising, Miss Floey's culinary skills, better even than the master chefs at the Gaden Grand Hotel..."
Noah speared a meatball into his mouth, his eyes suddenly widening.
"No, no, I think it tastes even better!"
After exclaiming, Noah sped up his eating.
In his heart, he was even more convinced that joining Mr. Jack's team was both a beautiful and correct decision, as ordained by the divine will of his mother.
She truly loves me.
Seeing the joyous expression on Noah's face while eating, everyone eagerly began their meal, soon displaying the same expression as him.
Amid soft exclamations of surprise, Chen Lun subtly gave Floey a thumbs up, to which she smiled at him and quietly thanked him.
"Now, try some of the wine that Mr. Jack has personally brewed,"
Find adventures at empire
Connie aptly brought over two bottles of chilled ginger ale, pouring a glass for each guest.
"Oh? Mr. Jack also has this hobby?"
Rosa sipped a bit of the beef strip, quietly nodding in approval, then curiously asked as she wiped her mouth with a dinner napkin.
"He recently took up the interest, Miss Rosa, you might want to give it a try,"
Chen Lun suggested with a smile.
"I look forward to it."
Rosa took the glass Connie handed her and gently sipped.
The ginger ale was authentic, but she seldom drank it. In high society, people generally preferred red wine, gin on certain holidays, or punch rather than such light ale.
But the very next moment, she suddenly paused, her eyes lifting to meet those of the young man at the head of the table.
"Is this... Supernatural Wine?"
Rosa's voice carried a hint of astonishment and suspicion.
The others were also startled, and Noah stopped his fork mid-air.
