Chapter 680 Dance
Beyond the towering walls of Vieyeli, the slaughter on the vast plains paused for a moment.
The sights of both the Ripple Empire and the Six-Nation Allied Forces were drawn to the distant colossal ring-shaped door of Pale Fire.
The anguished screams of the six Demigods of the Redemption Church filled the air.
Just hearing it made everyone present uneasy and fearful.
Soon enough.
The circular door of Pale Fire slowly closed, converging into a blinding human-shaped torch, finally revealing the figure of Dannie.
With a calm expression, she raised her right arm lightly, in her palm holding over a dozen blue-glowing spherical substances... these were the mysterious remnants extracted from the six Demigods after death.
"The Demigods of the Redemption Church... are all dead?!"
"They were killed by Dennie Lucius single-handedly!"
The leaders and high-ranking members of the Allied Forces gasped deeply at the scene, trembling all over as if plunged into an ice cave.
That was the Redemption Church's Demigod Archbishop!
A mythical existence walking among mortals!
A figure of utmost power, status, and standing, closest to the Flame Gods!
And now, they're just... dead...
The leaders' faces turned pale, clearly taken aback.
Dannie glanced around the surroundings.
The azure sea of flames continued to burn fiercely, spreading all around, while the nearly hundred Saints of the Redemption Church had mostly vanished, leaving mere dozens caught in the flames, severely injured and wailing, unable to escape.
Those disappeared Saints likely took advantage of Dannie's engagement with the six Demigods to retreat from the battlefield.
"Escaped, did they?"
Dannie murmured softly.
She stored away the High Rank Holy Fire materials, clenched her fingers.
The dozen Saints trapped in the sea of flames, helplessly watched themselves being engulfed by the Pale Fire, screaming in succession.
The commanders of the Six-Nation Allied Forces were drenched in cold sweat.
Their troops had already been disturbed by the lurking "Void Demons," causing a decrease in morale, while the Ripple Empire's army and the "Azure Serpent" Mercenary Corps seized the opportunity to press forward.
Now, with the Redemption Church's high-ranking Bishops either fleeing or dead, this battle would most likely end in a disastrous defeat.
"Do you choose to commit suicide, or should I do it myself?"
Dannie turned her head, her words resounding directly in the minds of the Allied Forces' commanders without a hint of emotion.
Their expressions changed dramatically.
"In the name of the Flame Gods!"
"We beseech You to bring down divine punishment and burn this damned sinner!!"
Though just ordinary people, the commanders were not cowardly; after the initial fright, they were filled with anger and indignation.
Many dismounted, kneeling and bowing vehemently, praying to the heavens.
"O mighty Candelabra Goddess, exalted Rainbow Seven Gods, we are your most devout believers, we implore you to cast a merciful gaze upon us!"
Thump! Thump! Thump!!
One by one, commanders joined in the prayer.
Yet even as they bloodied their foreheads, they received no response, their faces showing despair.
"Have we... been abandoned by the Gods?"
Dannie watched them silently before letting out a dismissive chuckle.
"I don't know if the Flame Gods have abandoned you, but I do know they're preoccupied... instead of praying, you'd better escape now, while there's still time."
"?!"
The commanders were left stupefied.
Flame Gods...
Preoccupied?
What does that mean?!
Dannie couldn't be bothered to explain, she just wore an indifferent face as she slowly advanced toward the dense Allied Forces.
In truth, from the moment she led her army of players to wreak havoc on the Outer Continent, the Rainbow Seven Gods or the Candelabra Goddess hadn't intervened, not even performing a single miracle.
This was all thanks to Mr. Jing Yao and Miss Holy Tree...
These two True Gods of the Sorrow and Joy Pathway had long arrived on the Outer Continent in secret, even confronting the True God and Angels of the Holy Fire Pathway themselves, leaving them unable to interfere in the mortal disputes.
Even the Lord of Heaven, "The Man in the Fog," was involved.
Without the highest-level interference, Dannie has been able to progress so smoothly over the years.
"The six Empires without the protection of the Flame Gods are truly too weak..."
Dannie sighed, advancing alone towards the army.
And the densely packed soldiers and knights cried out incessantly, retreating as they jostled each other, scared off by such a small girl.
"Get out of the way! Move!"
"Ahhh! Stop stepping on me!"
"Move it!"
"Believe it or not, I'll kill you with one slash!"
As Dannie walked forward, they hastily retreated, yet the atmosphere of panic and terror boiled over, throwing the army into chaos, everyone wishing they had more legs to flee.
"All go to hell..."
Dannie coldly pronounced, flicking a wisp of azure flame.
"Heavenly Scorch."
As the flame touched the ground like a drop of water,
An azure "ripple" spread out, diffusing in all directions, sweeping across the Earth at an incredible speed.
Boom!!!
The soldiers of the Allied Forces appeared terrified, their faces twisted.
They found themselves unable to outrun the spreading flames, one by one, not even getting a chance to speak before being devoured by the fire, never to be found again.
Often in the blink of an eye, a person would burn to ash in the fire... and at the same time, the number of deaths in the blaze numbered in the thousands.
"Run! Run quickly!"
"Help! Someone save me!!"
"Aaaaaa!!!"
It's hard to imagine that those screams of utter terror could come from these battle-hardened Imperial warriors.
Their fear reached its peak, like a taut rope suddenly snapping, each one of them completely breaking down...
Even the players watching from afar were left speechless.
This scene was simply too cruel!
The million-strong army of the Six-Nation Allied Forces was like a swarm of ants set ablaze, unable to escape or resist, forced to watch helplessly as the sea of fire devoured them.
Under the indiscriminate attack of this pale fire, Heaven's "Parasites," players, Ripple Empire soldiers, and even Abasye Cult missionaries, were mistakenly killed in significant numbers.
Yet, it seemed Dannie couldn't care less about any of this.
With a serene smile, she took a small step and leaped into the sea of fire.
Then, like a lively noblewoman, she tiptoed, spread her arms, and began to dance amidst the pale and eerie sea of fire.
It was a joyful dance.
There was no grand accompanying melody, only the sound of flames burning, and the backdrop of screams, wails, and cries of terror accompanying her.
The Holy Fire Pathway excels in dance.
Thus, Dannie was well-versed in the techniques and beauty of dance.
Her dance was elegant, moving to a silent rhythm, tiptoeing, raising her hands, turning, extending her arms... the entire process was a sight to behold, making one forget everything outside.
But when the onlookers snapped out of it, they saw the surrounding blazing pale sea of fire, countless soldiers reduced to ash, with the battlefield covered in ash like a mourning black veil.
Eeriness, trepidation, and shock...
All surged in everyone's hearts.
Until Dannie finished her dance, lifting her skirt for a bow.
All around, there was no sound.
The flames extinguished by themselves, leaving behind a scorched plain, where blue smoke rose like thick fog, and ash drifted like rain.
At first glance, it looked like on an infinite "black stage," stood a small but proud performer.
And now, the girl's performance ended.
The vast plain and even atop Vieyeli's high walls were dead silent.

"Miss Dannie, I need you to give the Empire an explanation!"
On Vieyeli's high wall, the Ripple Empire's Marshal, clad in armor, stepped forward, along with four aides and numerous guards.
The man was tall and robust, with bandages on his arm, seemingly injured.
"At least nearly a hundred thousand of my troops perished in your flames..."
The Marshal's face was grim, speaking in a low voice.
Dannie was originally speaking with the Polaris Squad, but turned around, looking calmly at the aggressively approaching Marshal and his men.
"Marshal McCall, there's no need for such animosity... Dennie Your Majesty's merits in repelling the Six-Nation Allied Forces for the Empire surely outweigh those hundred thousand lives, don't they?"
Nearby, seven or eight men and women in aqua-indigo robes stepped forward.
They wore conch ornaments on their chests, indicating they were high-ranking members of the Abasye Cult, led by an elder Pope with graying hair.
The one who spoke was this elder Pope.
He chuckled softly.
"The Abasye Cult also lost over a thousand missionaries in the flames, but that is their rightful fate... to die defending their Faith, is akin to devoutly bowing."
"Hmph!"
Clearly not swayed, Marshal McCall snorted coldly, ready to continue speaking.
But suddenly, he saw Dannie extend a hand.
Snap!
A snap of the fingers.
Instantly, gasps filled the scene.
Marshal McCall's eyes widened, watching that chilling pale flame ignite on his arm!
"Protect the Marshal!"
"Dannie Lucius! How dare you betray the Empire!"
The aides were shocked and angered, their shouts echoing.
However, Dannie remained unmoved, merely looking at them with a gaze as if they were fools.
Soon, Marshal McCall let out a soft noise of surprise.
"Everyone, don't act rashly!"
He ordered.
The crowd gradually fell silent, only to realize that the bandages on the Marshal's arm were burned to ash, but the wounds had healed completely.
Only then did they understand that Dannie had no intention to kill but was healing the Marshal.
"You want an explanation from me; I'm sorry, there isn't one."
Dannie walked past the Marshal slowly, lightly knocking on his arm's armor with the back of her hand, producing clanking sounds.
Then she chuckled softly.
"Don't bother me again, or a flame will incinerate you all!"
Dannie's final words were chilling and cold.
The high-ranking officials present, including the elder Pope of the Abasye Cult, couldn't help but feel a chill.
The scene was dead silent.
Nobody dared to voice any more questions to the girl.
They watched as she calmly walked away with the Polaris Squad, until they reached the stairs, when Dannie addressed the tens of thousands of Undead Foreigners below the high wall:
"All members of the 'Pale Serpent' Mercenary Corps, prepare the ranks, and set off with me immediately..."
Dannie's expression was indifferent.
"The final battle, attack the Holy Land of Klein!"
