Chapter 13: Forced hamon breathing???
The sunlight broke through the clouds, turning them gold as it stretched over a city already alive with the sounds of morning.
Streets buzzed with cars and voices, the familiar rhythm of a bustling metropolis.
In a penthouse that stood out while blending into the skyline, the light passed into a room, the space was simple but unique with a mix of Chinese and Egyptian influences.
Patterns of lotus flowers and calligraphy lined the walls, meeting sharp, angular carvings.
At the center, a plain but elegant bed rested against the quiet stillness of the room.
On the bed, a young man lay motionless, his expression unreadable in the morning light.
"Urgghh what... where, my chest"
The young man slowly woke up with a grunt of frustration and pain, this young man was none other than Ethan.
He slowly began to inspect himself and noticed that his chest was covered in leaves, acting as dressings for his wound.
A sudden sting shot through his chest, making each breath sharp and difficult.
"HAAAH...WHAT THE... ARGGHHHH!!!…"
His heart pounded, heat surging through his body with every rapid beat.
A strange sensation coursed through him like electricity crackling in his veins, yet it wasn't pain.
It was something else, something... bizarre.
Ethan felt his blood boil with each passing second, his body growing unbearably hot.
The air around him turned thick with a foul, rotten stench, invading his lungs and making his head spin.
A sharp pain shot through him as blood trickled from his nose, ears, and eyes
His vision blurred and his strength faded until everything went black.
....
"My life keeps getting better and better… What the hell happened? Where am I?"
"You passed out."
Ethan slowly opened his eyes, finding himself in a pond.
Every breath he took sent ripples across the water at an unnatural speed, distorting his reflection and adding to his confusion.
Turning around, he saw a woman standing behind him.
Long black hair cascaded down her back, her eyes unreadable yet intense, Her figure was sculpted like a seductress, every curve effortless, every detail almost surreal.
"You are somewhere and nowhere…" Her gaze flicked downward before arching a brow. "Is that an erection?"
Ethan slowly rose from the pond and noticed that the wound in his chest had healed without leaving a scar.
With every breath, something coursed through his body, unfamiliar yet impossible to ignore.
He looked at the woman and spoke, his voice edged with confusion.
"Who are you? What is happening to me? Where is Rosalina?"
"Whoa!!! slow down," she said with a grin
"I have many names, Some call me the Mother of the Night, others the Protogenos of the Night, but you… you call me Nox."
"Life is beautiful and mysterious, isn't it? Your ability to effortlessly harness Hamon is quite extraordinary... almost on par with Lisa Lisa no, maybe even Jonathan Joestar."
Ethan met her gaze, unimpressed:
"Jonathan who? Ma'am, can you please stop trying to sound so profound and just get to the point?"
Nox's eye twitched at the word 'ma'am', but she took a deep breath and regained her composure. "Jonathan Joestar was a Hamon user.
Just as Margaret Cavendish, Leonardo da Vinci, and Nikola Tesla were considered to be ahead of their time, the same could be said for Jonathan."
She continued, "He was able to create techniques never seen before, despite being new to Hamon.
Just like how Dio set a certain standard for vampires to follow, the same could be said for Jonathan."
Ethan nodded, though he had no real understanding of what she meant.
His eyes wandered as he took in his surroundings. The sky was pitch black, yet filled with countless stars.
Lush plants thrived around him, looking fresh but strangely out of place.
Everything about this place felt bizarre, unnatural something beyond his comprehension.
"This is a place you can't comprehend… My Stand Life 13 ultimate exists in the world of nightmares
Unlike my great grandfather's Stand, Death 13, which resided in the dream world." Nox paused for a moment before continuing. "But that doesn't matter. I just..."
"Wait… are you reading my thoughts?"
Nox snapped her fingers, and a throne materialized behind her, She casually took a seat, crossing one leg over the other as she smirked.
"Yes. In this place, I am all-knowing and all-powerful. And yes, I brought you here for a reason."
She then began to explain, Ethan was undergoing his forced Hamon awakening in the penthouse.
However when he passed out, Nox forcefully pulled his consciousness into this place.
The sudden news of what was happening shocked Ethan, leaving him stunned and unable to fully comprehend the situation.
Ethan paused for a moment, processing her words before responding:
"I get the idea of what you're saying... What do you want from me?"
Nox chuckled softly, her gaze steady. "You see there have been many Stand users with time based abilities, including those that can influence space.
But none of them ever awakened a pseudo Requiem Stand...A Stand with immense potential for growth."
Her eyes glinted as she continued. "Your ability...GateKeeper, is powerful and since Ethereal Divergence is a pseudo Requiem Stand
That means you have the potential to travel between different dimensions, universes, or timelines. The possibilities... are endless."
Nox stepped into the pond, the water rippling around her as she moved closer to Ethan. Her voice was smooth, almost coaxing.
"You're capable of freeing me from this place. So, what do you say?"
Ethan shifted uncomfortably, then scowled: "Firstly, stop touching my Excalibur. It's disrespectful."
He moved away from her before continuing: "None of what you're saying makes sense. You're here for a reason, and even if I let you out… what's in it for me? I'm not a Samaritan."
Nox chuckled seductively and said:
"I can give you knowledge related to space and time. If you use it well, you could even save your parents. What do you say?"
Ethan fell silent. The offer was tempting too tempting but it was also deeply flawed.
He met her gaze and said, "That doesn't make sense. If I save my parents, Ethereal Divergence will never be born, The timeline fractures or collapses are according to the laws of physics It doesn't add up."
"Hey, hey, hey, listen," Nox whispered, her fingers gently tracing his cheek. "You get to live a life free of grief and sorrow…"
She leaned in slightly, her voice smooth, almost hypnotic. "I can give you boundless knowledge, granting you the ability to hop between realities at will. Or… I can kill you if you refuse."
"Bullshit," Ethan scoffed, breaking free from her grasp. "You sound like you've been isolated for centuries Or longer"
He took a step back, meeting her gaze with defiance. "You won't kill me because you need me, the desperation in your voice says it all
I refuse your offer, so send me back. And if you have complete control of this place… why don't you free yourself?"
"I was sealed here by the Saint, and as the one who bears the mind of the Saint, that makes you his incarnation.
This grants you the authority to enter this place and leave at will… or to release me."
Ethan crossed his arms, unimpressed:
"Yeah… this 'Saint' might have had his reasons or whatever.
And let's not forget you just said you will kill me , and now you're begging???" He paused, then narrowed his eyes. "You're a deceiver. I don't even know what to believe. Just send me back."
Nox sighed, a hint of defeat in her tone:
"Sure. You know where to find me…"
She waved her hand, and in an instant, Ethan vanished.
A moment later, a sly glint flashed in her eyes as she whispered to herself, "Only time will tell… only time will tell. What a fascinating young man."
