Journey Across The Tensura Verse

Chapter 3: The Hunter And The Fisher

The forest was alive with the sounds of nature—chirping birds, rustling leaves, and the distant calls of monsters. The boy moved cautiously, his **Tracking** skill guiding him through the dense underbrush. He had already learned to move silently thanks to **Stealth**, and his **Agility** allowed him to navigate the uneven terrain with ease.

As he walked, his stomach growled. He hadn't eaten since arriving in this world, and the adrenaline from his encounter with the Frost Wolf had worn off. He needed food, and fast.

**[Newton: Detecting signs of wildlife nearby. Would you like to utilize your Hunting skill?]**

The boy nodded. "Yes. Let's see what I can find."

He crouched low, his eyes scanning the ground for tracks. Thanks to his **Tracking** skill, he quickly identified the paw prints of a small deer-like creature. He followed the trail, moving silently through the forest until he spotted his target—a young, antlered animal grazing near a stream.

The boy's mind raced as he formulated a plan. He didn't have a weapon, but he could improvise. Using his **Creativity**, he fashioned a crude spear from a sturdy branch and a sharp stone. It wasn't perfect, but it would do the job.

**[Common Skill Acquired: Spear/Polearm Mastery. Proficiency with spears and similar weapons has been unlocked.]**

The boy grinned. "Perfect."

He crept closer to the creature, his **Stealth** skill ensuring he remained undetected. When he was within range, he lunged forward, thrusting the spear with precision. The strike was clean, and the creature fell instantly.

**[Common Skill Acquired: Hunting. Knowledge of animal behavior, trapping, and weapon use has been integrated.]**

The boy felt a surge of satisfaction as he examined his catch. He had successfully hunted his first meal in this new world. But as he prepared to start a fire, he noticed movement in the stream nearby. Fish—large, silvery creatures—swam lazily in the clear water.

"Might as well stock up," he muttered to himself.

Using his **Creativity** again, he fashioned a fishing rod from a flexible branch and some vines. He didn't have a hook, but he sharpened the end of the vine into a point. It wasn't ideal, but it would have to do.

He crouched by the stream, his eyes focused on the fish. When one swam close enough, he struck, stabbing it with the sharpened vine. The fish thrashed for a moment before going still.

**[Common Skill Acquired: Fishing. Proficiency in catching fish using various methods has been unlocked.]**

The boy laughed softly. "This is almost too easy."

As he gathered his catch, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. He was adapting quickly to this world, and his growing skill set was making survival easier than he had anticipated. But he knew he couldn't let his guard down. The forest was vast, and there were undoubtedly stronger creatures lurking in the shadows.

After preparing his meal—roasted venison and grilled fish—the boy sat by the fire, his mind racing with possibilities. He had already acquired several useful skills, but he knew there was more to learn. His **Adaptability** was working overtime, and he was eager to see what else this world had to offer.
