Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Satoru's Suggestion.
"What are you going to do with my body?"
Suddenly, a voice came from the throat of the boy, but it was Yuji Itadori's voice speaking.
Sukuna reached out and grabbed his own neck, full of confusion and doubt. "Why can you still move?"
Yuji moved his body naturally. "What do you mean? This is my body, isn't it? Who are you? Am I possessed by a ghost?"
"Ryomen Sukuna."
Kamihara Hajime's black cursed energy extended from his earring, wrapping around his hand. Slowly, a section of a blade emerged from his flat palm. He smiled as he explained to Itadori.
"Originally a sorcerer from the Heian period, he became a curse after death. His twenty fingers became special grade cursed objects…"
"Twenty fingers?"
Itadori's focus shifted. Then he saw the imposing young man opposite him miraculously pull a long sword out of thin air. The meticulously forged blade swallowed the gentle moonlight, reflecting a sharp, cold gleam.
Itadori swallowed hard. "Um… what do you want to do with that sword?"
Megumi Fushiguro, mostly healed, looked at Itadori with a conflicted expression. "Yuji Itadori, by Jujutsu Sorcerer regulations, you are now considered a curse…"
"What… what will happen?"
Megumi paused before uttering coldly, "You will be exorcised."
"That means I'll die? No, I'm fine right now, look."
Itadori hopped around, pulled at his cheeks, and did a few squats. Megumi's sweat beaded as he watched. He couldn't tell if the being in front of him was truly Itadori or a curse in disguise, and since it was a special grade curse that had regained a physical body, he absolutely couldn't let it escape.
"Don't worry, I'll know once I try." Hajime said casually, as if talking about what to eat for dinner, making Megumi's face darken.
"Hajime, don't mess around. If it really doesn't work…"
Hajime rested Totsuka-no-Tsurugi on his shoulder and looked at Megumi with disdain. "Why do you always think about being a 'suicide bomber'? I'm special grade now; have some faith in me. Even if this is Sukuna, it's only the strength of one finger. I even find it a bit boring."
A slit opened on Itadori's cheek like a miniature mouth, and Sukuna's voice emerged from it: "Jujutsu Sorcerer—"
Before he could finish, a hand slapped the eerie mouth shut. Itadori swatted it like a fly, interrupting Sukuna's words. Another slit opened on the back of his hand, annoying Itadori so much that he slapped that mouth shut again.
"This hateful brat! His body is too strange!"
Hajime turned and smiled, interrupting Itadori. "Yuji Itadori, you can control your body, right? How about this—let Sukuna out first. I want to see the Curse King, though he might be a bit weak now."
The mouth on Itadori's hand grew more grotesque but said nothing more. Itadori hesitated, then said, "Really? I feel like this Sukuna guy is very dangerous."
Suddenly, the young man disappeared from his spot. A hand rested on Itadori's shoulder, making his heart tremble. The playful voice whispered in his ear, "It's fine. If it doesn't work, I can run very fast too."
Itadori didn't fully understand but trusted Hajime's confidence. If something went wrong, he could regain control of his body. So, he decided to try.
After closing his eyes, Itadori's body changed. Black markings appeared, covering his face with an eerie hue. His four eyes opened, filled with cruel killing intent. Sukuna raised his hand and smoothed back his hair, blood-colored sparks erupting from his white teeth. "Then let me show you."
The ground beneath his feet cracked and spun. Sukuna's backward claw tore through the air with a sharp screech. Even if a wall of bronze and iron stood there, he could tear it to shreds.
But the slash shredded only air. Sukuna's gaze searched for Hajime's figure, locking onto that smiling face, more like someone on a spring outing.
"Dismantle!"
Invisible slashes engulfed the spot where Hajime stood. The rooftop, which should have collapsed, was intact, and Hajime was unharmed.
"Oh? Interesting. You try mine too."
Sukuna raised his hands but suddenly felt a sharp pain in both arms. Looking down, he saw his two severed arms on the ground; the blood had already stopped flowing. Hajime caressed Totsuka-no-Tsurugi, which had no blood on it.
"Is this your technique?"
Sukuna's severed arms quickly regenerated, almost instantly restored. If not for the severed arms still dissipating on the ground, no one would have noticed.
"One finger really isn't enough?"
Hajime smiled deeper, twirling his sword as he paced toward Sukuna. "Your reverse cursed technique is strong. You must be confused about what happened. My technique is called Time Wheel. I accelerate my own time, so I walked over, cut off your arms, then went back."
Sukuna placed a hand on his forehead, the killing intent boiling. "He revealed his technique? But what about the move that made my previous attacks useless? Did he reverse his own time?"
Sukuna's gaze changed. Though still chilling, it was no longer like he was observing ants.
"Now it's my turn."
"Domain…"
As Sukuna's fingers came together to activate his domain, Hajime's Time Wheel Spin technique forced his attack to stop.
Hajime nearly cut off Sukuna's head with a single slash but held back. This was Itadori's body. Although Sukuna could heal it, he didn't want to look overly brutal.
He casually threw Totsuka-no-Tsurugi into Sukuna's abdomen and then punched his face. Gripping cursed energy tightly, he struck the defenseless Sukuna like a sandbag, sending him flying.
"Release."
With a loud bang, Sukuna slammed into the wall of the opposite building, impaled by the sword. The cursed energy glow dissipated where Hajime stood.
Sukuna spat blood, his consciousness spinning wildly. Then came the attacks like crashing waves.
"These injuries couldn't be caused by a single attack, but they appeared simultaneously. Such a technique…"
"Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine!"
Sukuna expanded his domain, revealing mountains of corpses and seas of blood. He stood half-naked before a towering altar covered with monstrous mouths and bones, a demon from hell, not a Buddha.
"With only one finger, my cursed energy can't sustain this domain long. This brat's technique is tricky. Jujutsu Sorcerers are always troublesome."
Within the domain, Dismantle and Cleave continuously struck the target until the Malevolent Shrine vanished.
As the storm approached, Hajime activated his technique, sending Megumi, White Wolf, and Itadori's seniors out. Then he returned to Sukuna's domain.
"It's different from others. Like Shuten-dōji's, it doesn't trap the enemy but increases range. There's a feeling…"
Hajime felt invisible blades slicing through the air near his throat.
New Shadow Style: Simple Domain
Hajime used this "weak" domain, drawing Onikiri and Spider Cutter. Infinite slashes poured out, creating a swirling vortex of sword light. The slashes struck his blades but couldn't cut through.
He tilted his head and dodged. His right shoulder was slashed diagonally, the wound appearing and disappearing instantly. But the slash was still deadly.
Technique Lapse, Time Wheel Spin!
Hajime appeared beside Sukuna, sword ready. Blood seeped but vanished before staining his clothes. Sukuna's severed arms began turning to dust.
The scene of corpses and blood vanished, revealing a starry night. Sukuna looked at his lost arms. Under reverse cursed technique, the wounds healed slowly. His eyes closed. "I look forward to next time…"
Before finishing, his eyes shut completely. All markings and sinister aura vanished.
Itadori opened his eyes and said, "It hurts so much!" His body was unharmed but felt a faint pain like a hallucination.
Looking up, he saw Hajime smiling. The scary sword was gone.
"Hello, let's introduce ourselves. I'm Kamihara Hajime."
Itadori hesitated, then shook Hajime's hand and stood. Looking around, he saw Fushiguro and the seniors were gone. "It was so dark just now. What happened outside? Did you defeat Sukuna? Where are they?"
"Over there."
Following Hajime's direction, Itadori saw Megumi walking toward them. He sighed in relief. "Good, everyone's okay."
Hajime smiled gently. "You only care about others. Yuji Itadori, you're now Sukuna's vessel. I just defeated him when he wasn't at full strength. He hasn't been exorcised because only when you die will Sukuna die."
Startled, Itadori saw Hajime wasn't going to attack and quickly said, "Isn't there another way? I'm confused just hearing this."
Hajime patted his shoulder. "No rush. Someone else will handle your situation."
For a problem involving a special grade cursed object, the legendary curse king, and Itadori's vessel, the matter would be entrusted to the strongest and most powerful—Gojo Satoru.
In a room covered with talismans, Gojo sat back in a chair, observing the tied-up Itadori while complaining to a student leaning against the wall.
Under Six Eyes, he saw Itadori's condition clearly. Stroking his chin, he smiled. "You can control your body, right? Notice anything unusual?"
Itadori nodded. "Of course. But sometimes I hear a voice. It's noisy in my ear."
Gojo paced. "You've seen Sukuna, right? A curse like him will kill many if he regains full strength. The elders want you dead, but I think that's a waste."
"A waste?"
Itadori wasn't curious about who wanted him dead. After calming down, he thought death might be the best solution. If Sukuna emerged, many would die.
'You are strong, you must help others. You must die surrounded by people.'
His grandfather's words echoed. "If it comes to that, I'll let them kill me. If it gets rid of Sukuna, I'll have saved many."
"So here's my suggestion."
Gojo interrupted. "If you die, Sukuna dies too. You're a rare vessel. Absorb all twenty fingers, then we kill you. Sukuna will be completely exorcised."
