Chapter 14: 14 Gojo vs Toji
Amidst the rubble and the lingering dust of battle, two figures stood in silence.
One—bloodied yet unyielding.
The other… had returned from the dead.
Toji Fushiguro stared at the man he was supposed to have killed.
Yet now, that man stood before him—his forehead wound vanished, as if it had never existed.
Gojo Satoru.
A satisfied smile crept onto Gojo's face as he stepped forward, his voice cold but brimming with overwhelming confidence.
"You lost… because you didn't sever my head… and didn't confirm my death."
Toji's eyes narrowed—not in panic, but disbelief.
He repeated the word softly, as if tasting venom on his tongue.
"Lost…?"
In a flash, Toji's hand reached toward the body of his cursed spirit, and then—
"Skrkk!"
He pulled something from the cursed spirit's mouth. A jet-black weapon that reflected no light.
The Inverted Spear of Heaven.
A deadly aura exploded from Toji's frame, his compressed muscles suddenly flaring with wild power.
"The real fight… begins now."
---
On the other side, Gojo remained still.
But everything inside him had changed.
He was no longer the same Gojo whose skull had been pierced by that cursed spear.
Now, he was… reborn.
The Reverse Cursed Technique had opened a new world for him.
Before, Infinity was the only thing protecting his Six Eyes from sensory collapse. But now?
Now, he could heal his own brain in real-time.
The limits that once bound him—shattered.
'It's like a prisoner… finally finding the key to his own cell.'
Gojo chuckled softly, stepping forward with calm, deliberate purpose. His voice was low… yet echoed with power.
"Heh… That's right… that's right…"
In his mind, the world now appeared brighter—sharper—slower.
He could see everything.
And he could fix everything.
Gojo spread his arms wide, his eyes glowing with a blinding blue light.
"Yes, that's right!!" he shouted in triumph.
---
Toji didn't wait.
"DOOOOM!!"
The ground exploded beneath him, dust and debris scattering in all directions.
His body launched forward like a bullet, tearing through the air with sonic force—every step detonating like a miniature blast.
A vertical slash!
Fast. Lethal.
But—
Gojo tilted his head.
No blood. No torn skin.
The attack… missed.
To Toji, it was a lightning-fast strike.
To Gojo, it was slow motion.
His face remained calm. Emotionless.
As if Toji's blow was nothing more than a breeze.
Toji immediately followed with a horizontal slash, aiming for the neck.
But Gojo—
vanished.
"Tch!" Toji grit his teeth, spinning around—
Gojo was already behind him.
But not standing.
He floated upside down in the air, his robes whipping in the pressure of cursed energy.
He looked like an inverted god descending from the heavens to punish the mortal below.
Toji turned—and for the first time, his expression shifted.
His brows rose. His eyes widened.
His body tensed.
Gojo raised a hand.
Two fingers pointed directly at Toji.
Red energy crackled, twisting the air around it—like reality itself was being bent and torn.
"Cursed Technique Reversal…"
"Red."
---
The midday sky burned with the aftershock of lingering cursed energy.
The red explosion that burst from Gojo's fingers—Cursed Technique Reversal: Red—roared toward Toji Fushiguro like a wave of pure destruction.
In a blink, Toji swung the Inverted Spear of Heaven, the cursed tool that nullified techniques, and deflected part of the attack.
But the force behind it was still overwhelming.
Toji's body was hurled backward,
Slicing through the air before slamming into a building behind him.
BOOOOM.
Concrete cracked, and fractures spread like veins of rage through the wall.
Dark crimson blood spilled from the corner of his mouth…
But a crooked smile still tugged at the Sorcerer Killer's lips.
Yet that smile slowly faded—
As his eyes locked onto the figure floating high in the sky.
Suspended… as if he defied the very laws of nature.
"This monster… doesn't even care…"
Toji muttered inwardly, in disbelief.
---
Gojo Satoru.
Floating effortlessly in the air, his body stretched out like he was lying in an invisible bed of clouds.
As if the sky itself was his throne…
And the world below?
Just a background he could discard at any moment.
His eyes were wide open.
Before, the world felt suffocating—
A constant burden.
But now?
His vision reached to the edge of the horizon.
He could even notice a crow flying far across the sky.
'I used to feel mentally drained… but now… it's effortless to expand my perception.'
Far below, he saw a young boy grinning wide, thrilled by the clash of two of the world's most dangerous beings.
"A child," Gojo mused with a faint smile.
"He's… so excited."
---
Meanwhile, Toji Fushiguro stood up.
Dust from the shattered building slid off his shoulders.
He stretched his neck, rolled his shoulders like an athlete prepping for another sprint.
Small cracks echoed from his joints.
But—
'No broken bones. Not bad.'
Toji's eyes narrowed. His mind moved quickly.
'That wave just now… was a cursed technique using Limitless. But not the usual one.'
He lowered his stance, placing a hand on his spine and pulling it—
CRACK.
'Reverse Cursed Technique… "Red," huh?'
He replayed every detail of the attack in his mind.
'Positive cursed energy channeled into Limitless. The result? Absolute Repulsion.'
'First, the halting force: maintaining distance and time—basic "Limitless."'
'Second, the pulling force: with the reversed "Blue."'
'And third—"Red": destructive repulsion that tears everything apart.'
Toji was unimpressed. He began to move again.
His hand reached into the cursed spirit's mouth.
This time, he pulled out Banri no Kusari—the Chain of a Thousand Miles.
A long-range weapon with an almost infinite reach—
As long as its end remained unseen, it could stretch forever.
One weapon wasn't enough.
With a single swift motion, Toji linked the chain to his spear—
The Inverted Spear of Heaven.
Now, both cursed tools became one.
An extension of his killing intent.
"If you can float in the sky…"
Toji grinned with ferocious confidence.
"Then I'll drag you down from it."
