Chapter 2: Jujutsu Kaisen the origin 2
In the previous chapter, Kaito was resurrected and faced the special curses alongside the sorcerer Geto in combat. Despite his opponents' efforts, none of them managed to hurt him. In the end, Kaito decided to spare their lives, acknowledging that they were the ones who brought him back.
After the battle, he assimilated the memories of the body he now inhabited and discovered his new identity: Shiro Tanaka, a wealthy man residing in a luxurious penthouse . With this new information, Kaito set out to explore the world that had changed so much since his time.
At that moment, Kaito lay in bed as the first rays of the morning sun filtered through the huge windows of his penthouse . The light bathed the room in a warm glow as the sound of his alarm clock interrupted the tranquility.
Kaito slowly opened his eyes, staring at the ceiling for a few moments before moving to the edge of the bed. He reached out and turned off the alarm clock with a simple gesture. He stood up and left the room, walking calmly through the spacious apartment.
The penthouse was a masterpiece of luxury and modernity. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered panoramic views of the city, while elegantly designed furniture was strategically placed, giving a feeling of spaciousness and comfort. The kitchen, equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, was impeccably organized with marble shelves and countertops.
Kaito looked around the room and sighed. "Now that I'm in this body, I don't need to eat or drink..." he thought. However, he closed his eyes for a moment and remembered that the original owner of this body knew how to cook.
Curious, he began to touch the kitchen utensils and, almost instinctively, began to prepare breakfast. His hands moved with precision, as if he had always known what to do, although from time to time the technology of the appliances surprised him. Still, thanks to Shiro Tanaka's memories, he was able to use them without problems.
After a while, Kaito finished cooking. He placed a plate on the table and sat down to eat, accompanied by a glass of freshly made orange juice. Once satisfied, he took the dishes to the sink, washed them, and then walked back to his room.
He went into the bathroom, brushed his teeth and rinsed his face and hair with cold water before drying himself with a towel. Then, in the dressing room, he looked for suitable clothes for the day. He chose an elegant suit, high-quality shoes and, as a finishing touch, he placed a trench coat over his shoulders.
He walked over to the nightstand, where a pair of gold-framed glasses and black gloves rested, with a cell phone next to them. He took the glasses and put them on, hiding his eyes by doing the same with the gloves, then turned on the cell phone and spent a few minutes exploring its operation. Although it seemed strange at first, the body's memories allowed him to quickly understand its use. After putting the phone in his pocket, he walked toward the elevator door.
Just as he was about to press the button, his gaze drifted to another part of the apartment. He decided to explore a little further and discovered that the penthouse had four additional rooms, all empty. He checked each one until he came to a door that gave access to a private patio.
Upon opening it, he found himself in a luxurious outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by elegant outdoor furniture. Various luxury items decorated the area, giving it an exclusive and sophisticated feel.
Kaito paused for a moment to observe the scene with interest before closing the door and returning to the elevator. This time, without any distractions, he pressed the button and the doors opened.
Kaito entered the elevator and pressed the button that would take him to the ground floor. The cabin began to descend smoothly, its movement barely noticeable thanks to the high-end technology it was built with. After a few minutes, the elevator reached its destination and the doors opened with a soft mechanical sound.
In front of him was a majestic reception area, a space that radiated luxury and exclusivity. The floor was covered in polished marble, reflecting the warm light of the chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. Large windows allowed natural light to illuminate the room, highlighting the golden details and fine moldings on the walls.
The center of the reception was dominated by a wide dark wood counter with gold details, where several receptionists dressed in impeccable suits were working diligently. To one side, an elegant waiting area was furnished with black leather sofas and glass tables, adorned with fresh floral arrangements. A minimalist fountain, with crystal-clear water cascading down, added a touch of tranquility to the ambiance.
As Kaito stepped out of the elevator, everyone present bowed slightly in respect. Without responding, he simply continued walking with a steady stride, discreetly observing his surroundings.
As he walked forward, his gaze drifted back, noticing that next to the elevator he had used were other elevators in operation. He watched for a moment as various people entered and exited them, immediately understanding the difference.
The elevator Kaito had used was exclusive, reserved only for the owner of the building. No one else had access to it, and it was the only one that went directly to the top floor without interruptions.
Kaito pondered this and thought:
"The original soul of this body was someone reserved, someone who spoke only when necessary. To prevent others from getting in his way, he had this building custom-built for him, making sure to have a private elevator that only he could use. Everything about this place reflects his personality."
He walked a few more steps and exited the building. In front of the entrance, three elegant cars were lined up waiting for him. Next to each vehicle, several armed bodyguards stood at attention, alert for his arrival.
Kaito walked calmly to the car in the center, where a middle-aged man, dressed in an impeccable suit, stepped forward to open the door for him. Kaito watched him for a moment and thought:
"The only other person who can use the elevator is this butler, Masayuki Ayanokoji . He has served Shiro Tanaka since his youth, looking after him with absolute loyalty. It's possible that, over time, he'll realise that I'm no longer Shiro... but our personalities are similar enough that he won't be immediately suspicious."
Masayuki, noticing Kaito approaching, gave a slight bow before speaking respectfully:
—Mr. Shiro, everything is ready.
Kaito glanced at the cars and the additional bodyguards he didn't remember seeing before. He frowned slightly and asked in a calm voice:
—There are more people today. Has something happened?
The butler replied in a serious tone:
—Sir, you were late returning yesterday and we didn't notice when you left the company either. We feared that someone had kidnapped you, so we reinforced security. I hope you don't mind.
Kaito nodded slightly before answering:
—I was just changing my hair color. You don't need to worry. But in the future, to avoid any misunderstandings, I will let you know when I go out.
Masayuki bowed his head in respect.
—No need, sir. As long as you are well, that is enough for me.
Kaito looked at him for a moment and then spoke calmly:
—I understand, but I'll let you know anyway.
"Thank you, sir," Masayuki replied with another slight bow.
With a graceful movement, the butler held the car door as Kaito got in. Once inside, Masayuki gently closed the door.
Before the car started, Kaito rolled down the window and said to her:
—I'll give you access to the apartment, Masayuki.
The butler nodded with a slight smile.
—Leave it to me, sir.
Kaito nodded again and rolled up the window.
—Driver, start the car.
The bodyguards quickly entered the other vehicles, and within seconds, the caravan was on its way to the company.
As the car started, Kaito looked to the side of his seat where a tablet was. He calmly took it and turned it on. News about the economy, business and politics appeared on the screen.
Without wasting any time, he began to slide his finger rapidly across the screen. His eyes moved at an impressive speed, absorbing the information without needing to stop. In just a minute, he had read all the relevant news.
Kaito sighed lightly, putting the tablet back, and looked up to look out the window.
The city spread out before his eyes, with bright signs and establishments of all kinds. Although the names of the shops and places were familiar to him thanks to the memories of the body he now inhabited, the experience of seeing them in person was still new to him.
"If I'm not mistaken, this city is called Tokyo."
He looked down at the road they were driving on. To his surprise, it was almost empty. He frowned slightly and said quietly:
—This road is empty.
The driver, upon hearing his remark, immediately responded in a professional tone:
—Sir, you don't need to worry. You built your company at one end of the city, as well as your apartment building, to avoid crowds.
Kaito looked at him and pondered those words and nodded slightly before speaking:
—It's true… too many people can be exhausting.
The driver continued explaining:
—Yes, sir. Since this area is almost on the outskirts, there is no heavy traffic or traffic jams. It is a quiet area.
Kaito looked out the window again and replied calmly:
-You're right.
The driver remained silent as Kaito continued to stare out the window. The car was moving through the streets, approaching the company, when something caught his attention.
In one of the many alleys, Kaito saw something that made him open his eyes slightly.
"That was a curse."
He closed his eyes and concentrated, trying to sense the energy around him. Immediately, several presences became apparent nearby.
"This area is infested with curses…"
He looked at his hands, covered by dark gloves, and thought calmly:
"I need to test my abilities. I want to know how much they've improved now that they're not limited by the body I had before."
The car finally arrived at the company entrance and parked in front of the building. On either side of the main door, a group of executives waited in formation, each in charge of a specific area.
The security guards got out of their cars and took up strategic positions. At that moment, one of them stepped forward and opened the door where Kaito was sitting.
As they stepped out of the car, the executives were surprised to see his white hair, but quickly bowed in respect. Kaito paid no attention to their reactions and simply began walking into the building.
As he walked through the doors, a young woman with long black hair, fair skin and remarkable beauty walked over with a firm step. She was carrying several documents in her hand and, without saying a word, handed them to Kaito. He received them without stopping and continued walking, noticing the woman following him closely.
He looked at her out of the corner of his eye and thought:
"This woman is my secretary… Hmm , what was her name? Ah, Ayaka Fujimura."
Without turning completely towards her, Kaito spoke in a calm voice:
—Fujimura-san, what are the plans for today?
Ayaka, who was carrying more papers in her other hand, quickly looked through them before answering in a professional tone:
—You have several meetings scheduled. The first one is at ten in the morning… and in the afternoon you have free time, except for what you have to check on your computer.
Kaito nodded slightly.
—I understand. Fujimura-san, I want you to send me a detailed report on the status of the company in the afternoon. Will you be able to complete it or do you need more time?
Ayaka kept her expression serious and answered confidently:
—Don't worry, sir. I'll have it ready in the afternoon.
As they continued to chat about company matters, people who passed Kaito would bow to him as they passed. He didn't stop or pay much attention to them.
Finally, Kaito arrived at the elevator and entered it. Before the doors closed, he spoke to his secretary:
—You said the meeting would be on the 40th floor. I'll be in my office on the 50th floor reviewing the information.
Ayaka nodded slightly.
—Yes, sir, I know.
Kaito pressed the button and the elevator started moving.
At this moment, Ayaka sighed tiredly, slumped her shoulders, and muttered lazily:
—I should resign...
Just then, the executives in charge of each area appeared behind her. One of her friends, with an amused smile, commented:
—I see he asked you for something difficult again. Hahaha.
Ayaka immediately turned around and, frowning, exclaimed with obvious frustration:
—He asked for a company report! Do you know how long it takes to do a full one? Several weeks!
Her friend let out a light laugh and replied mockingly:
—Looks like it's time for me to get to work.
The other executives nodded, preparing for their own tasks, but before they could disperse, Ayaka grabbed her friend by the shoulder and spoke seriously:
—Wait! We'll all have to make the report.
There was an awkward silence. All the executives stood there blankly, processing his words.
Ayaka's friend spoke urgently:
—Wait, don't you already have the reports we sent you from each department?
Ayaka scratched her head in frustration before replying:
—He asked for the company's current report, not one from months ago. If he wants it so urgently, it must be for something important.
The executives looked at each other, realizing the weight of the task. Ayaka, without wasting any more time, began to walk towards the elevator while the others sighed in resignation. Before entering, she spoke with determination:
—We will meet on the upper floors in an hour to discuss the report.
The executives nodded, accepting the order. One of them murmured curiously:
—I wonder what he wants that report for… Oh, and didn't you find the CEO's new look strange?
The glances of those present crossed with uncertainty.
Ayaka, who was already pressing the elevator button, replied seriously:
—It wasn't just his hair. His whole presence changed. He's stronger... much stronger.
He was silent for a moment, but then, with a sigh of annoyance, he muttered in frustration:
— Haa … I should just quit. Even though he's changed, the only thing that remains the same is that damned indifferent and annoying personality.
The elevator doors opened and Ayaka stepped in. The executives, still processing her words, fell silent, looking at each other.
The doors closed and the elevator began to ascend.
Ayaka's friend smiled in amusement and commented mockingly:
—Hehehe… Always so reserved. You'll never win him over like this.
One of the executives, who had heard rumors, intervened with curiosity:
—They say she declared her love for him a long time ago.
Ayaka's friend nodded with a mischievous smile:
—That's right. It was quite a while ago, but he rejected her. Since then, she started following him. She's probably still waiting for him to look for her.
He put his hands together in a dramatic pose and exclaimed enthusiastically:
—It's like a drama! An unrequited office love.
The other executives looked at each other, some with discomfort, while a drop of sweat appeared on their faces in the purest anime style.
Finally, one of them sighed and said in a neutral tone:
—We'd better get back to work.
The others nodded and, without further comment, dispersed to resume their work.
The day went by calmly. Kaito had his meeting with the businessmen and everything went better than planned.
After that, in his office, he checked his computer and, with surprising speed, learned how to use it. He received emails, answered them and made strategic decisions that further increased his wealth.
As the afternoon progressed, someone entered his office. It was Ayaka, carrying a sheaf of papers in her hands. She walked over to his desk, carefully placed them down, and spoke in a businesslike tone:
—The report is now finished. I hope it will be useful to you.
Without waiting for a response, he turned around and began walking toward the door.
Kaito, without taking his eyes off the documents, calmly replied:
—Thank you for your work. I hope to continue counting on you.
Ayaka paused for a moment, nodded and smiled slightly. A slight blush appeared on her face before she left the room.
Kaito took the papers and read them quickly, not stopping on any page for more than a second. When he was done, he left them on the table and thought:
"So this is the state of the company… Not bad."
He stood up and, with a flash of determination in his eyes, muttered to himself:
—I said not to disturb me in the afternoon. It's time to move through the streets… I want to observe the curses of this era.
Kaito walked over to the window that showed a panoramic view of the entire city. He looked at the scenery for a few seconds, then looked down at the palm of his hand and slowly opened it.
He reached out towards the glass, and in that instant, the surface began to warp. A cracking sound echoed through the room as the glass shattered into thousands of fragments, scattering into the air. Unfazed, Kaito stepped forward and began walking through the void, suspended in midair.
At the same instant, the broken glass began to rebuild itself, as if it had never been damaged. Within seconds, the window was back to its original state, without a single crack.
Kaito looked at his hand again and thought:
"One of my abilities… First, strengthening. Then, restoring. Then, creating. And finally, manipulating curse energy. Something I learned on my own."
He clenched his fist and continued to ponder:
"Also, I have a place where I can store everything… The 'Gate of Babylon', where I keep my items. And the 'Cursed Otherworld', where the curses remain trapped."
Kaito took a few more steps and disappeared from the spot. In an instant, he appeared on top of his building, on the roof. He looked down at the city from above and continued with his thoughts:
"I can create objects with abilities in two ways: passive and active."
He looked at his hand and visualized the concepts in his mind.
"Passive objects cannot be too powerful. That's the only rule, because if they go over the limit, they will break. They work like an infinite cycle, where energy constantly circulates without stopping, allowing for unlimited use."
He made a slight movement with his fingers, materializing for a second a small luminous sphere, which vanished instantly.
"On the other hand, items that are active require my energy to activate. For example, an item that controls the four elements or the golden magic staves from the 'Gate of Babylon'. Every time I activate them, I need cursed energy to use them."
He sighed, realizing the magnitude of his abilities.
"Although the 'Gate of Babylon' is different… It allows me to store and extract items without expending energy. However, if I want to throw a sword at high speed, I need to consume energy to do so… although the cost is reduced by more than half."
Kaito looked at the city beneath his feet, his eyes narrowed.
"In addition, the objects I create or store in the 'Gate of Babylon' can levitate and be used to attack or defend separately. I have absolute control over them."
He spoke softly, as if sharing a secret with himself:
—Also, my energy is immense, allowing me to float, fly, and even destroy.
The wind blew hard on the rooftop, blowing his white hair as Kaito continued to meditate on his powers.
He looked up and observed the sky before muttering:
—The barrier I created is a passive energy manipulation object. Since it cannot be touched or damaged, it also does not suffer wear and tear.
He reached out a hand to the side and whispered:
—Manipulation and creation.
An energy began to swirl in front of his hand until it took shape: a low-level curse appeared before him. Kaito calmly touched the small being and murmured again:
—Energy manipulation.
He moved the energy inside the creature, altering its form little by little, until its body structure could not resist any longer and it exploded into purple blood.
Kaito looked at his hand thoughtfully and muttered:
—So this is the limit… It depends on how much energy it can hold. This one had very little. The same thing happened with that old man… After finishing off his offspring, a few days later, he also exploded. His body couldn't take it anymore.
He looked out at the city and spoke softly:
—That would be the theory for now… Or at least what I could do before. It's time to see how far I've come.
He disappeared from the spot in an instant and appeared several meters away, in a dark alley. The moment he appeared, two low-rank curses emerged from the shadows and launched themselves at him with their jaws open.
Kaito glanced at them. With a simple movement of his hand, he destroyed one of them instantly. Then he turned his gaze to the other and muttered:
—I only need one for my experiment.
He caught the curse by the head, leaving it completely paralyzed. With precision, he began to manipulate the energy within the creature, shaping it little by little. Its form changed, becoming humanoid, but Kaito continued to alter it until it transformed into a small, one-eyed being, the size of a child.
He let go, observing the result. However, the creature did not resist and exploded in a mass of dark blood.
Kaito touched the blood still floating in the air and whispered:
-Restore.
The purple blood gathered in an instant, completely regenerating the curse. Without taking his hand off the creature, Kaito continued to manipulate its form, making it more humanoid and the size of an average adult. This time, he caused multiple razor-sharp bones to emerge from its body, giving it a much sturdier structure.
When he finished, he took a few steps back and muttered:
—It's ready… I'm starting to understand a little more how it works.
At that moment, the curse regained its meaning and, without hesitation, it launched itself at Kaito again. Unfazed, he stared at her and said in a firm voice:
-Still.
The creature was frozen in place, unable to move. Kaito raised his hand and placed it gently on its head.
The curse exploded in an instant, reduced to a rain of blood.
Kaito lowered his hand and spoke calmly:
—As I expected… Before I was resurrected in this era, the ability of 'Restore' only allowed me to return objects and my body to their original state. But now… I can manipulate curses, making them stronger, more powerful. Before, with 'Restore' I healed the wounds on my old body, returning it to its original state… But in the end, it couldn't bear it. Too many restorations…
He closed his eyes for a moment and remembered.
"During the war against the sorcerers, some of them could heal themselves… They used a different kind of energy… Hmm … No, it was the same, they just deployed it differently."
He opened his eyes and began walking towards the exit of the alley.
—I used to have the body of a curse… But now, it's different. This body is more human than curse, although it continues to change, evolving slowly. There are only two ways to speed up the process… One, gather enough energy to force the change. And the other… intense combat, push my body to the limit, put it in danger until it is forced to evolve. Although of course… that only applies to the body. My skills have already reached another level.
Kaito sighed and muttered:
—I need to test all my skills… 'Creation' seems to be the same, although it's now easier to use. 'Restore' has evolved. All that's missing is 'Strengthen'… Before, I only made objects harden while they were in my hands. But now… I wonder if I can also strengthen living beings, make them more resilient…
As he talked to himself, he walked out of the alley and the light hit his eyes. He blinked a few times before looking at the scenery in front of him.
People walked around them, immersed in their daily lives. Some students chatted excitedly, while others hurriedly walked to their destinations. Each one focused on their own thing.
Kaito smiled sideways and began to walk calmly through the city. He observed each shop and every corner with a slight curiosity.
His coat fluttered in the wind as he raised a hand, smoothing his hair with his leather gloves. His smile widened slightly.
In the past, people would run away in terror at the sight of him. They feared him. He never had the chance to speak to anyone in a calm manner or to walk down the street without worry. He was always on guard, always ready for battle… always seeking revenge.
But now… now I felt something different.
For the first time, he experienced the peace he could never have after having destroyed everything.
The world no longer remembered him. And for him, that was okay.
Kaito closed his eyes for a moment and continued walking. He opened them slowly, allowing himself to rest from his past.
—Humanity survived everything I did… The sorcerers too… —he thought as he looked at the people around him—. For now… I'll just watch them. They've earned it.
He continued walking back to his company, disappearing into the crowd.
What Kaito didn't notice... was that all the people who passed by him were looking at him with curiosity. And some women, blushing slightly, couldn't help but feel attracted to his presence.
The days began to pass. Kaito continued with his routine: some days he had meetings with businessmen, others he spent checking emails and taking care of administrative matters. There were days when he did nothing but rest in his apartment, watching television or playing a video game.
He had fully integrated into human society.
However, most of his free time was spent experimenting with curses, gaining a deeper understanding of their abilities. Little by little, he cleaned up the entire area where he lived, eradicating every curse he found. Then, he extended his influence to the area where his company was located.
Their territory grew larger.
This little piece of town… now belonged to him.
It was nighttime and Kaito was still in his office, staring at his computer screen. After a while, he leaned back in his chair and sighed.
—I'm done for today... As always, it's just checking that everything is in order and answering emails.
He turned his chair slowly until he was facing the large window, looking out at the city lit up at night.
—Over the past few days I have come to understand my abilities… And now I understand —he muttered to himself—. It is just as my father said.
He closed his eyes and his mind traveled back in time.
He recalled a scene in his family's dojo. He and his father were sitting facing each other in the middle of the tatami mat. The dim candlelight illuminated the place with a serene warmth.
His father looked at him firmly and spoke in a serious voice:
—Kaito, remember this… When you awaken your abilities and feel like your strength isn't enough… If you truly want to get stronger, you must strengthen your body and your control over your powers. To improve that, it's best to set limitations, to the point where using them is three or more times harder than normal. And then… train within them until those limitations no longer feel like limitations. Only when you master the impossible, when you surpass what seems unattainable, will you know you've achieved true power. Do you understand, Kaito?
Kaito opened his eyes, his gaze reflecting a deeper understanding of his own existence.
—My previous body… was the limit of my potential. Before, my strength was restricted, my energy contained in a vessel unable to bear it. But when I was reborn in this new body, everything changed… My abilities evolved, became purer, more perfect.
Slowly, he stood up and walked to the large window. The city glowed in the night, oblivious to his presence.
—Before, when I wielded the World-Breaking Sword, I could only unleash a fragment of its true power… and the recoil was overwhelming. But now… now I know. If I use it, I will be able to extract one hundred percent of its essence, without restrictions.
Kaito looked at his hand and clenched it into a fist. A golden energy, surrounded by small red fragments, covered his fist like a translucent flame.
—I need a name for all my skills, something that makes them special, something that distinguishes me, like the other clans that had a name for their technique… Something that characterizes me, that always remembers me. The name will be… The Origin of the Cursed God.
Kaito looked up and put his hands in his pockets. He calmly began to think, talking to himself.
—My abilities are clear, each with its purpose. First, Creation : I can generate objects with unique abilities. These can be passive , which are unlimited, but relatively weak, or active , which require my energy, but are much more powerful.
Kaito paused, his gaze fixed on the city, as he thought about the next power.
—Then, there is Strengthening : The ability to harden, reinforce, and empower any object or weapon. Nothing breaks under my control.
His lips curved slightly as he remembered the skill that had always served him well.
— Restoration : Not only can it repair, it can also modify objects in real time. The perfection of something damaged, instantly.
Kaito clenched his fists in determination, feeling the essence of his power.
—The Gate of Babylon is the dimension that allows me to store items and weapons. Not only do I store them, but I have complete control over them, being able to summon them whenever I need to.
Kaito smiled slightly, his gaze colder.
— Cursed World : The dimension where the curses I create are stored. I can summon them at will, use them as I please. They have no limits.
Finally, a spark of power appeared in his gaze.
—And finally, Cursed Energy Manipulation : My complete control over cursed energy or the energy of humans' evil thoughts. I can infuse it, create it, and alter it at will, even turning it into cursed beings or modifying objects.
Kaito was silent for a moment, reflecting on everything he had accomplished so far. Each skill, each new ability he had acquired gave him more absolute control over his surroundings, but something inside him knew there was still more to discover.
Finally, he sighed, as if letting go of that internal pressure.
—These skills aren't bad… But this body still needs to be strengthened more than it is. Over time, it will become more perfect, it will evolve.
He looked out over the city, as if he could already see his future stretching out before him.
—My combat style… Hmmm , that will be another matter to test. But it is not the time yet. I need to wait. Everything will come when it should come.
With that last thought, Kaito stopped talking to himself, his mind focused on what was to come. He slowly stood up, turned off his computer, and walked towards the door. With each step, the weight of the day slowly disappeared. As he left the place, he closed the door behind him. The days continued to pass, and Kaito continued with his usual routine.
One sunny day in Tokyo, at the sorcery school, an imposing place located between the mountains and surrounded by old buildings, the tranquility of the environment contrasted with the energy of its occupants.
At the entrance, a white-haired man with his eyes covered by a bandage leaned casually against a pillar, checking his phone with an amused smile on his face. Beside him, a black-haired person dressed in an office suit waited with a patient expression.
In the distance, three figures were running towards them. All three were wearing the school uniform, albeit with slight differences in their personal style. One of them, a young man with black hair, kept a serious expression as he walked forward at a steady pace. Beside him, a boy with pink hair ran with energy, showing no signs of fatigue. The last of the group, a young woman with light brown hair, snorted in annoyance, clearly irritated by the race.
Arriving in front of the white-haired man, the three of them took a moment to catch their breath.
Gojo watched them with his usual carefree air and an amused smile.
"You're late. What took you so long?" he asked mockingly.
Fushiguro frowned and crossed his arms.
—You called us just five minutes ago. You said it was an urgent mission.
"Yes!" Itadori chimed in, still breathing normally. "What's this important mission about, Gojo-sensei?"
Gojo smiled even wider and with a carefree tone announced:
—The urgent mission is… I'll be accompanying you this time! —he said enthusiastically. —We're going on a group excursion! It'll be fun, don't you think?
A heavy silence fell between the three students. Their expressions went from confusion to pure disinterest in a matter of seconds.
"Ah…" Kugisaki muttered with obvious disappointment. "Was that all?"
Fushiguro looked away in resignation, while Itadori blinked as if trying to process what he had just heard.
Not receiving the reaction he expected, Gojo puffed out his cheeks dramatically.
—Come on, guys! Isn't it exciting? A teacher and his adorable students, facing danger together!
Completely ignoring him, the three of them turned simultaneously to the man in the suit and saluted him respectfully.
"Hello, Ijichi-san!" they said in unison, as if Gojo didn't exist.
The school assistant blinked, surprised by the timing, but returned their greeting with a slight nod.
Gojo, his ego slightly bruised, slumped his shoulders and sighed exaggeratedly.
"I don't understand why you don't share my excitement," he murmured, bringing a hand to his chest with false drama.
Kugisaki just raised his hand in a lazy gesture and said half-heartedly:
—Yes, yes, whatever you say…
Itadori laughed a little, while Fushiguro simply sighed in resignation.
Gojo, ignoring his students' lack of enthusiasm, smiled with renewed enthusiasm.
—Well, let's go! An incredible mission awaits us!
And with that, the group set off, each with their own thoughts on what lay ahead.
They walked down the stairs that connected the school entrance to the road, heading to the waiting car. Gojo took the passenger seat with his usual relaxed attitude, while the three students settled in the back.
Ijichi started the car and drove off, slowly descending the mountain as silence filled the interior of the vehicle.
It was Gojo who broke the calm with his carefree tone:
—Well, Ijichi-san, what is today's mission and why so urgent?
Ijichi kept his eyes on the road and replied seriously:
—I'll explain it from the beginning.
The students, grasping the importance of the matter, immediately paid attention.
"As you know, curses are born from the negative thoughts of humans," Ijichi continued. "The greater the concentration of people in an area, the more powerful they can become."
The three of them nodded, following the logic of his explanation.
—The problem is that, in one area of Tokyo, all the curses have disappeared… or, rather, have been destroyed.
Itadori and Nobara exchanged confused glances, while Fushiguro frowned, clearly in thought.
It was Itadori who spoke first:
—But isn't that a good thing? I mean, less cursing means less danger, right?
Fushiguro shook his head, still deep in thought.
—In theory, yes. But we're talking about Tokyo, one of the most populated cities in the world. It's practically impossible for curses to stop appearing in an area with a high concentration of people. The real question is: who or what made them disappear?
Itadori and Nobara nodded, understanding their companion's concern.
Gojo, with his characteristic smile, turned his head slightly towards Ijichi.
—So, Ijichi-san… why did they call someone as incredibly talented as me? —he asked with feigned modesty.
Ijichi ignored Gojo's comment and continued with his explanation:
—The problem isn't just that the curses have disappeared. The area in question had suddenly been infested by curses of various levels, from grade four to grade one. We don't know the reason for this sudden concentration, but the most disturbing thing is that they were all eliminated in a very short time… and we found some traces.
Ijichi glanced at Gojo before adding:
—We hope you can analyze them.
Gojo nodded with a confident smile.
—Don't worry, we'll take care of that.
The air inside the car grew tense. Fushiguro narrowed his eyes, pondering the situation.
"And you have no idea who or what could have done it?" Nobara asked, frowning.
"Nothing concrete," Ijichi replied. "That's why we need to investigate."
Gojo smiled even wider, as if that uncertainty only made the mission more interesting.
— Hmmm … now that sounds fun.
The three students exchanged glances. They weren't sure if "fun" was the right word to describe the situation.
Ijichi sighed and added:
—We also sent several investigators to the area to gather information, but they found nothing relevant.
Itadori crossed his arms, thoughtful.
—That's weird… If so many curses were removed at once, they should have at least left behind some sort of cursed energy residue, right?
Fushiguro nodded.
—Exactly. For something like this to happen without a trace, the person responsible must have an extremely high level of control over the cursed energy… or something else is going on.
Gojo looked out the window with his typical relaxed expression, but his tone was more serious this time:
—Interesting… Very interesting.
The students felt a chill. If Gojo was taking something seriously, it meant that the situation was much more complicated than it seemed.
For the rest of the journey, they continued to discuss the mission. After a while, they finally arrived at the city and headed straight to the area where the curses had disappeared.
When they arrived, Ijichi parked the car and everyone got out.
"Follow me, it's this way," Ijichi said, leading them down a narrow alley.
After walking for a while, they stopped at the indicated place.
"This is the place where the events occurred," Ijichi said seriously.
Gojo calmly observed the area before pulling down his blindfold, revealing his eyes. He took a few more steps into the alley, examining every detail as the students followed closely behind him.
Suddenly, he stopped and stared at the walls, where there were dark purple blood stains. He crouched down, touched the floor with his hand, and remained silent for a few seconds before smirking in amusement.
"This is troublesome…" he said, still keeping his carefree tone. "A battle took place here. Someone or something fought against all these curses and destroyed them with ease."
"How strong were the curses that were removed?" Nobara asked, crossing her arms.
Gojo stood up and looked at his students.
—From the traces of cursed energy… there were first-grade curses, some even bordering on the special level. And yet, the entity that removed them did so effortlessly.
Those present were silent for a moment, processing the information.
Fushiguro frowned and spoke seriously:
—Are you saying that what you fought here is of a special category?
Gojo smiled, but his eyes reflected something deeper.
—There's no doubt about it. And that makes all this much more interesting.
Gojo pondered for a moment.
"The only special category entities I can think of are the ones who invaded the academy... Hmmm . They cleared the entire area, what are they planning this time?"
After a few seconds, he made a decision and spoke seriously:
—Ijichi-san, inform the association and tell them that I will be in charge of this from now on. Also explain to them everything we have discovered so far.
Ijichi nodded and, after saying goodbye to everyone, quickly left the place.
As soon as he walked away, Itadori turned to Gojo with a doubtful expression.
— Gojo- sense , then… what are we going to do?
Gojo smiled in amusement.
—We'll search the entire area where there's no trace of curses. If there's a culprit, we'll find him sooner or later.
Fushiguro, frowning, remembered something and asked:
— Gojo-sensei, you said that what eliminated those curses was a special category entity… Is it possible that they are the same ones who invaded the academy?
Gojo smiled, as if he had expected that question.
—Always so clever, Megumi . Yes, it is possible… but don't worry. As long as I'm here, they won't be able to do anything.
Itadori clenched his fists as he remembered a certain person with scars and staples on his body: Mahito .
Nobara, with a sigh, crossed her arms and asked:
—Well, how will we move?
Gojo spun on his heels and pointed upward with his thumb.
—We will observe from the rooftops of the buildings until we find some trace.
The three students nodded and, without wasting any time, began to move.
For the next few hours, they remained on the roof of a building, observing the area from a distance. Every so often they changed position, moving from one building to another in search of any clues.
When night fell, they were still keeping watch, but found nothing out of the ordinary. After waiting for several hours without results, they decided to leave.
While standing on the rooftop of a building, observing the area, Nobara sneezed from the cold and hugged herself in annoyance.
—Damn! Why did we have to come so early? What a pain! I hope whatever we're looking for shows up soon.
Itadori laughed at her complaint.
—Come on, Kugisaki, think about it this way: the sooner we find him, the sooner we can get home.
—Or better yet, we can fight —he added excitedly, bumping his fists.
Fushiguro, who was standing with his arms crossed and staring at the city, sighed.
—It's not something we should take lightly. If Gojo-sensei is right and what did this is of a special category, it could be dangerous.
—Pff ! Don't be so pessimistic, Fushiguro —Nobara replied, nudging him lightly—. Besides, we have Gojo-sensei with us .
"And me," Itadori said with a big smile.
Fushiguro rolled his eyes.
—That's what worries me.
Gojo, who had been watching silently, smiled in amusement.
—Relax, relax. If something appears, we will notice it immediately. Until then… enjoy the view.
The three students sighed almost simultaneously, resigned to continue waiting.
At that moment, on the road below the building, a caravan of three cars stopped at a traffic light. Curious, Itadori leaned over a little to get a better look.
—Hey, Fushiguro, do you think anyone important is in those cars?
Fushiguro looked down at the caravan and nodded cautiously.
—It could be. To be so sure, it must be someone influential.
Nobara, crossing her arms, struck a dramatic pose and smiled arrogantly.
—Someday I'll be the important one, traveling in luxury cars and drinking champagne.
Itadori and Fushiguro looked at her with a drop of sweat on their temples, anime style, not knowing what to answer.
Meanwhile, Gojo fixed his gaze on the vehicles, concentrating for a moment. Suddenly, an amused smile appeared on his face.
—It looks like we found the culprit.
The three students turned to him in surprise.
"Really?!" Itadori exclaimed. "You're saying that the person responsible is in those cars?"
Gojo nodded, relaxed.
—I can feel it. Someone in one of those cars has cursed energy… And it's not weak.
Fushiguro frowned.
—So he's a human… A special-class sorcerer. That's quite problematic.
Nobara placed a hand on her hip and smiled intrigue.
—I wonder what it's like. So what do we do? Do we follow him?
Gojo turned to them with his typical confident expression.
—Exactly. It's time to follow him.
The cars sped off in the opposite direction. Wasting no time, Gojo jumped off the building, landing easily on the street. Meanwhile, the three students took the stairs, arriving shortly after.
Gojo walked calmly to the car where Ijichi was waiting for them and, without hesitation, got in. The others did the same.
—Ijichi-san, follow those cars —Gojo ordered with a smile—. It seems we have a suspect.
Ijichi adjusted his glasses nervously.
—Huh? Just like that?
"Just like that," Gojo repeated with an amused smile.
Without asking any more questions, Ijichi put the car in gear and began following the caravan, keeping a safe distance.
In the back seat, Itadori leaned forward slightly.
— Gojo-sensei, are you sure that someone in those cars is the culprit?
Gojo nodded, still smiling.
—Yes, there is someone with a lot of cursed energy in one of those cars. I don't know if it's our culprit, but it's definitely worth investigating.
Fushiguro frowned.
—If he's a special-class sorcerer, this won't be easy.
Nobara smiled confidently.
—Well, nothing in life is easy, but that makes it more interesting.
As they talked, the caravan continued to move through the city. Ijichi did his best to stay close without attracting attention.
"I hope they don't discover us," he murmured worriedly.
Gojo just laughed .
—If they discover us, we'll save ourselves the trouble of following them.
After a while, the caravan arrived at a building and parked in front of it. Ijichi's car parked a little further back.
Gojo, with a smile on his face, looked at his students.
—It's time to find out what's going on. Ijichi, stay in the car.
Ijichi nodded and Gojo got out of the vehicle, followed by his students.
The guards in the three cars began to get out and take up positions around the place, alert for any movement.
At that moment, the guard in the middle car opened the back door and Kaito calmly stepped out of the vehicle. His imposing figure stood out as he stood on the sidewalk, his elegant suit and the long coat that rested on his shoulders shining in the morning light. Glasses covering his eyes and gloves on his hands completed his enigmatic image.
The security surrounding him watched him closely, making sure there was no imminent danger. The other two cars parked behind him, and their respective guards took up positions, ready to follow him.
Gojo and the others were a little surprised to see Kaito, but Nobara couldn't help but comment:
—That's the important guy. He looks young, and he has white hair, too.
Itadori nodded, looking more closely.
—He looks a bit like Gojo-sensei.
Fushiguro frowned, observing carefully.
—Can't you feel it? That guy's presence... is strong, very strong.
Gojo smiled in amusement, as if this was all part of the plan.
—We'll talk to him later. It's time to meet Kaito.
Kaito began to walk towards the building with a firm step. After a few steps, he stopped and looked to his side. The guards watched him and prepared for whatever might happen. Gojo was approaching him, but a guard stepped forward and stood in front of him, saying:
—What do you want? Stay where you are.
Gojo stopped, looking at the guard calmly, and then turned his attention to Kaito.
—Kaito, can we talk?
Kaito watched him indifferently, looking at Gojo's white hair.
—What do you want from me... sorcerer?
Gojo smiled in amusement.
—You've been doing things we need to investigate.
The guards, watching the exchange between them, just looked at each other, not knowing exactly what was going on.
At the entrance of the building, all the executives were watching the scene, surprised by what was happening. Even the secretary was there, bewildered.
Ayaka thought to herself:
—He has white hair and bandaged eyes... What's going on? Who is he?
The executives exchanged curious glances.
Kaito, hearing Gojo's words, replied indifferently.
—I see… I don't plan on answering anything.
Kaito turned around and started walking again.
Gojo, without losing his attitude, spoke:
—You are doing things that we cannot let go. If necessary, we will take this to other extremes.
Kaito stopped and glanced at Gojo, his gaze deep and serious.
—Are you sure you want to go to such extremes? This place can't stand that.
Gojo simply smiled, not answering. Kaito remained silent for a moment before speaking again.
—Wait until I finish my work. We'll talk later. I'll leave in the afternoon.
Gojo nodded, with his characteristic smile.
—I understand. We'll wait for you down here.
Kaito sighed, without giving it much importance, and spoke without looking back.
—Do what you want.
And without further ado, he continued on his way, leaving Gojo and the rest behind, without pausing for a single moment.
