Chapter 1366: Terrible Coincidences
After performing his little magic trick, Zhen Liu was feeling rather confident in the moment.
He had not only confirmed that Dante had the same weaknesses as himself, but that they were magnified because of all the extra [Cores] that the dumbass thought was a good idea to shove into himself and his kaijin.
If Jinju Ren was here right now, she'd probably eat this guy whole.
'Goddamn, I am missing the girls again,' Zhen Liu mentally griped. 'Once I get back, I am taking them out on romantic...hold up...why am I sensing—'
[INCOMING MISSILE!]
'DAFUQ?!'
...Gotta love Anachronisms...
When Dante switched the [Taboo] and [Stigma] positions between Slavina and Obsidious, he made sure to immediately combine Obsidious with his [Astra] to create a new [Apostasy].
As he did, a part of him had assumed it was going to take the form of another strange dragon, albeit, one made of hatred and flames instead of oppression and roots.
What he got instead was...a pair of multi- barrel missile pods.
[Well now, this is... unexpected, but not unwelcome.]
In his mind, these rocket pods were merely an exotic weapon from some far off land, perhaps modeled after the mad dreams of a long dead god.
To a certain Otherlander, and those in the crowd who might've had a similar knowledge based, this weapon was the perfect embodiment of [Hate].
After all, these weapons weren't designed for one to defend themselves, or even earn honor on the battlefield.
Instead, these weapons and their payload only served on purpose: mass destruction on a grand scale.
Needless to say, Dante was more than happy to deliver such a thing.
Gathering power into the rocket pods, Dante prepared himself to fire several dozen projectiles with the aim of destroying every last one of Zhen Liu's clones.
And if anyone got caught up in the crossfire and died in the shrapnel...oh well.
It was their fault for being in the way.
[Eradication Barrage!]
With that simple declaration, Dante unleashed hell.
Dozens upon dozens of rockets were released from the pods, each carrying the screaming visage of a Kaijin that Obsidious personally devoured in a brutal manner and delivering an explosive pay load of [Chaos] and aether that resembled their abilities back when they were independent and alive.
There was also a small additional mote of [Hate] added to every one of them.
How else were they to deliver such brutal destruction and despair otherwise?
As the rockets ripped through the air, not all of them immediately went for the clones of Zhen Liu. Some were horribly inaccurate or top heavy and were clearly unable to fly straight even under the most ideal of circumstances.
Instead, the rockets had no choice but to become bombs…that were aimed directly at the fighting rebels, zakos, and kaijin below.
[Whoopsies,] Dante seemed to snicker with the voice of a dozen monsters. [Looks like there's going to be some friendly fire. Oh well.]]
Unfortunately, this meant that there were going to be even more casualties on both sides.

[Goa!]
CLATTER!
"HOLY HELL!"
The battle in the [Mines of Malevolence] had gone from a simple ambush to an absolute mess.
Balls of energy, weapons, blood, and everything in-between were flying every which way as the rebels and kaijin continued fighting one another, alongside zakos of various makes assisting both sides.
Initially, the rebels had the advantage because the kaijin were caught off-guard over the fact that these mortals had suddenly developed the ability to hurt them.
Then, as the battle raged on, the kaijin of the mines managed to bring the battle to a more even balance since they were still overall stronger than the mortal warriors.
Then, when the zakos on the enemy side showed up, the rebels thought that they were going to die right here and now...only for friendly zakos to show up and set things back into a stalemate.
As for the key battles between the champions on each side, even those had entered a stalemate of sorts.
...Olstenna vs. Gumba.
[Can you just stop dancing so I can crush your skull in already?!] Gumba roared.
^Fuck you, no,^ Olstenna swiftly replied.
[Bastard!]
^Yeah, well stay mad and...wait...what am I sensing right now?^
...Zhen Clan Scions vs Delictum...
"Fuck it! Let's see how you handle a coordinated assault!" Zhen Xing roared as he and Zhen Tai prepared their killer moves.
[Primordial Scripture...!]
[Try me, you featherless fucks!] Delictum screeched as he prepared a [Taboo] in the shape of a ballista. [Die for me!]
...
As for the ones not in pitch battle, they were busy trying to recover, or at least, figuring out their next move.
... Lythero's Recovery...
While everyone else was locked in a life-or-death battle, Lythero was busy trying to escape the from the maw of a vicious crocodilian attack. Luckily, he managed to again assistance in the form of a copper zako that looked incredibly detailed in comparison to the others. As well, this strange metallic warrior carried a sense of [Heroism].
^Bleh...much obliged, amigo.^
Clang!
^Wait a minute...I've seen you before...you're one of those apprentice zakos. You work under Nepherage, right?^
Clang! Clang! Ka-Clang!
^And your name is...Siegfried? Well that's oddly ordin...hold up, what's that whistling sound?^
...Taurna and Maggie...
^Hah!^
[Guh?!]
With a mighty shout and a [Chaos]-infused kick, Maggie ended the life of a low tier Kaijin that had once tormented her in the past.
As the kaijin reverted back to its original components, Maggie let out a sigh of relief.
^Yeesh. I didn't know using [Chaos] was so draining,^ Maggie muttered while catching her breath. ^Then again, maybe I shouldn't have brought along the to—^
^Big sis!^
^Huh? Oh! Taurna!^
As Maggie was catching her breath, her blood sister Taurna arrived by her side to take a small break in the battle.
Immediately, Maggie could tell that the "helper" in her head was no longer the one known as Blazejudicator, but someone else entirely.
Someone flashy and razor sharp.
^You look... different,^ Maggie commented. ^Did something happen to the fire judge?^
^He had to go and assist their creator in dealing with the Overseer,^ Taurna answered. ^So he swapped out with Razorstella.^
^Razorwho?^
^You remember that sharp featured woman that you couldn't help but to stare at because she was incredibly eye-catching?^
^Yeah?^
^Her.^
^Ah.^
As Maggie and Taurna continued to talk and plan their next course of action, though, a strange feeling of foreboding began to loom over their heads.
A feeling strong enough that it warranted the both of them to look up.
^What the hell is that?!^
^I don't know, but we need to run. Now!^
...
All over the battlefield, zakos, rebels, and kaijin were fighting for an unclear destiny.
Some did it for the sake of fighting.
Others for the sake of a better future.
But alas, before any of these stories could play out to their own, natural conclusion, a force of [Chaos] couldn't help but to interfere.
A few sharp-eyed warriors were the first to notice the sudden change, a feeling of death and destruction that they could never comprehend had appeared over their heads and began to plummet towards them like giant boulders from a cliff.
"What the..."
^HAUL ASS!^
Once they noticed their impending doom, these warriors did their best to either get out of the way or drag their allies to safety.
Unfortunately, there were many who didn't notice in time and by the time they did, it was too late.
The bombs were already over their heads.
[What the—]
KABOOM!
The energy released from these [Chaos] bombs was no joke.
The unlucky bastards that were in the immediate detonation zone were instantly annihilated as waves of energy ravaged their bodies and destroyed their [Cores], if applicable.
As for the ones that were outside of the blast radius, they weren't better off either.
"Gah!"
[My leg!]
^My eyes! My eyes!^
Bits of shrapnel tore through flesh and bones like it was nothing more than paper.
The sound was loud enough to instantly blow out ear drums, while the light released from the bombs were enough to burn out retinas.
But that wasn't the worst part.
During this entire battle, none of the attacks released by any warrior or kaijin present were weak in the slightest. However, none of these attacks were strong enough to damage or destabilize the mines integrity.
That wasn't the case for this fallen rockets.
The moment one of these explosive detonate, the walls and ceiling of the mines began to shake, and chunks of the ground was instantly obliterated.
Not only that, but tendrils of [Chaos] began to sink into the ground and riling up the cursed energies that was already infused into the environment.
And not just in the main cavern either.
...
Tink!
^Ah?^
As Pebble continued to stare at the ceiling above him, a small stone suddenly fell from above and bopped him on the head and instilled him with worry.
^Big brother...^
Then again, perhaps his worry came from the other small stones that quickly followed suit.
