Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Arrival, The Core of the Dragon Vein!
"Kakashi!"
Just as Kakashi was reveling in the mastery of his Wind Style: Rasenshuriken, he heard Teacher Minato calling out to him urgently.
"Oh!"
Kakashi turned his head and responded quickly, teleporting in an instant to Minato's side.
"Did you just use the power of the Dragon Vein?" Minato asked, surprised. He had clearly sensed a strange but powerful connection between Kakashi and the mysterious energy source.
"Hehe… yeah," Kakashi scratched his head a little sheepishly. "Now I can also use the energy from the Dragon Vein, just like An Lushan."
Minato's eyes lit up.
Perfect!
This changes everything. If Kakashi could now tap into the Dragon Vein's energy, then their next move became a lot more feasible.
But there was no time to dwell on the specifics of Kakashi's transformation. The priority was still clear—eliminate An Lushan.
"Kakashi, this isn't a sustainable solution. We can't keep draining energy like this. We need to cut off the Dragon Vein's source entirely," Minato said, eyes locked on An Lushan's body as it began regenerating again.
"If An Lushan is so desperate to kill Queen Sarah, then she must know something—perhaps a method to sever his connection to the Dragon Vein."
Minato's tone turned firm. "Leave your ten clones here to stall him with us. You go and find Sarah. We need that energy source disabled—fast."
"Understood!" Kakashi nodded, then vanished using the Flying Thunder God Technique, heading straight toward Sarah.
Even though he could now access nearly unlimited energy, Kakashi understood Minato's reasoning. He was still only human. No matter how vast the Chakra supply, the body had limits. Fatigue would set in eventually.
---
"Sarah!"
"Huh? Kakashi? What are you doing here?"
Sarah was visibly startled by his sudden arrival.
"Can you sever the connection between the Dragon Vein and An Lushan?"
Time was precious—Kakashi didn't waste a second on pleasantries.
"Yes, but I'll need to get to the Dragon Vein's core to do it."
"Good. Then start preparing. Assign the task of evacuating the people to Masako. I'll fly you there directly."
Sarah nodded and turned toward Masako.
"Masako, I'll leave it to you."
"Don't worry, Your Majesty! I'll handle it!"
Masako had overheard everything and gave a confident nod.
---
Kakashi then turned to the surrounding buildings.
Magnet Style: Magnetization Technique!
He quickly gathered several iron doors, pressed his right palm against them to magnetize them, and then fashioned them together into a floating metal craft—just large enough for two.
"Let's go, Sarah!"
Already familiar with his methods, Sarah jumped aboard smoothly. Kakashi stepped onto a separate iron panel floating beside her.
"Hold on tight. You're the navigator now."
As soon as he spoke, both iron platforms levitated and shot into the air, astonishing everyone watching from below.
---
Under Sarah's guidance, the two quickly arrived at the central tower—the entrance to the Dragon Vein's core.
Boom!
Inside the dim, spiraling structure, Kakashi and Sarah were descending rapidly down a spiral staircase when the wall above suddenly exploded.
From the dust and debris, a massive form crashed through.
It was An Lushan—in his terrifying scorpion-like transformation—smashing through obstacle after obstacle as he gave chase!
"Sarah!"
Kakashi turned and nearly screamed in frustration.
What's with this guy?! Is he some kind of island stalker? How is he this persistent?!
Luckily, Minato and the others had arrived just in time to intercept An Lushan again, halting his advance.
---
Sarah led Kakashi further underground until they reached an ancient wall embedded with a mysterious mechanism, about half her height.
"Here—it's right here!" she exclaimed.
She rushed to the mechanism and began to turn it but immediately cried out in dismay.
"What happened?" Kakashi asked, his attention snapping from the battle above.
"The impact earlier must've damaged the mechanism—it's not working!"
Sarah frowned, clearly frustrated by the setback.
Kakashi thought for a moment, then said firmly, "Step back—at least fifty meters."
Sarah blinked, confused but obedient. She jogged to a safe distance, watching with curiosity.
Kakashi looked up again to confirm that Minato and the others had their backs to him and were too focused on An Lushan to notice what he was about to do.
Then, taking a deep breath, he activated Partial Expansion Jutsu—a technique exclusive to the Akamichi Clan.
His right arm swelled to massive proportions, veins bulging and muscle tensing. With a deep breath, he pulled back and punched forward.
Boom!
The ten-meter-thick stone gate shattered into rubble with one colossal punch!
Kakashi looked around nervously.
Whew… no one saw that.
He let out a sigh of relief. That technique wasn't supposed to be seen by outsiders. The Akamichi Clan had a strict rule—their secret techniques were not to be passed down outside the family.
If anyone thought Kakashi had learned it secretly, even if by accident, he'd be in serious trouble.
Explain that you learned it by watching once? Who would believe that?!
And if the Akamichi demanded compensation… maybe marriage into the clan?
What if they forced him to marry Karui or something?!
...Better to elope with Rin and live a quiet life.
Wait, that actually sounds nice…
But then again, even if he escaped Konoha's pursuit and started a peaceful life with Rin, what would happen when one day they looked up and saw a scarlet moon?
Tsukuyomi. Infinite Genjutsu. Turned into White Zetsu fodder.
Yeah… not romantic anymore.
---
"Sarah, you didn't see anything just now, got it? Keep that punch a secret!" Kakashi said seriously.
"Ah? Oh… okay!" Sarah blinked in confusion, then quickly nodded.
"Alright, go cut off the Dragon Vein's energy. I'm heading back to the frontlines!"
Kakashi sensed that five of his clones had been destroyed. If this kept up, Minato and the others would be overwhelmed soon.
"Be careful!" Sarah called after him, running off toward the core.
She knew her role now would determine whether they won or lost this fight.
---
"Dragon Vein—Dragon Fire!"
An Lushan's roar echoed through the chamber as purple energy beams swirled toward his cannon-like mouth. But this time, it was different.
With a deafening blast, a massive column of purple fire shot out, far more terrifying than anything he had used before.
The intense energy stream incinerated everything in its path as An Lushan's head moved side to side like a destructive sprinkler of doom.
In a flash, all five of Kakashi's clones and most of Naruto's Shadow Clones vanished into smoke under the overwhelming heat.
"What incredible Chakra…" Naruto muttered, collapsing to the ground, completely drained.
Each time his Shadow Clones were destroyed, the accumulated exhaustion returned to him. Now, his body was nearly spent.
Even Kakashi, who had never made this many clones at once, froze as the fatigue of ten simultaneous dispels washed over him.
His body trembled slightly, overwhelmed by exhaustion.
Good thing I've been training hard… he thought, taking a deep breath to steady himself.
His body may have been pushed to its limit, but he wasn't done yet.
