Chapter 4: Chapter 4
"Hello, Host. Congratulations on awakening the Kamen Rider System."
Haruka's brow furrowed as he read the message. "Kamen Rider System?" he murmured, the unfamiliar term rolling off his tongue.
"What the hell?"
Haruka stared at the floating blue screen, his brow furrowed in confusion. "Kamen Rider System?" he murmured, the unfamiliar term sounding strange on his tongue. He couldn't believe what he was seeing - stories of people being transported to other worlds and gaining powerful systems, but he never imagined it happening to him. This was all so surreal.
Haruka stared at the floating blue screen, his brow furrowed in confusion. "What the hell is this 'Kamen Rider System'?" he muttered, the unfamiliar term feeling strange on his tongue.
"I am the system, here to assist you, Host," the screen replied in a robotic tone.
Haruka paused, his mind racing. "So you're the reason I'm in this...DC Universe?" he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty.
"I'm afraid I don't have any information or authority to answer that question," the system responded flatly.
Haruka stared at the floating screen, his brow furrowed. "Then why was I chosen?" he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty.
"It is due to your selfless act, and the system has scanned you to be a suitable host," the screen replied in a robotic tone.
Haruka paused, trying to make sense of the situation. "What is the purpose of the system?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.
"To make the Host the ideal Kamen Rider," the screen answered flatly.
Haruka stared at the screen, his brow furrowing. "Wait, so you're saying I have to become a Kamen Rider?" He hesitated, the weight of the decision sinking in. On one hand, it had been his childhood dream to be a hero like the ones he watched on TV. But this wasn't just some TV show - this was the DC Universe, where gods committed genocide and clowns threatened to destroy entire cities. The danger just spiked heavily.
"Can I...can I refuse?" Haruka asked, his voice laced with uncertainty. He knew the responsibility that came with being a Kamen Rider, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for that kind of burden.
Haruka stared at the floating screen, his brow furrowed. "Look, I just want to live a normal life, alright? Can't I just ignore all this Kamen Rider stuff?"
The system's robotic voice replied, "I advise against declining, Host. You have the potential to save many lives."
Haruka scoffed. "Save people? That's not my problem. I'm not some hero."
"But Host, did you not risk your own life to save that little girl earlier?" the system pointed out.
Haruka fell silent, unable to deny it. "I... I didn't want to see someone die in front of me, that's all."
"That compassion is precisely why you were chosen," the system stated. "And even if you try to live a normal life, do you truly believe you can escape the dangers of this universe?"
Haruka considered this, realizing the system had a point. "No, probably not," he admitted reluctantly.
"Then becoming a Kamen Rider is your best chance at protecting yourself and others," the system concluded.
Haruka let out a long sigh. "Alright, fine. You win. I'll do it."
"Excellent choice, Host. The system shall now bind itself to you."
Haruka stared at the floating blue screen, his brow furrowed in confusion as the lights dimmed around him.
"Congratulations. The system has successfully bonded to the Host. Your journey as a Kamen Rider has officially begun. Here is your first mission," the screen announced in a robotic tone.
Haruka swallowed hard, his mind racing. A Kamen Rider? This was all so surreal. But he had agreed to this, and now there was no going back. With a deep breath, he focused on the screen, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
[Mission: Stop 3 criminal activities: 0/3
Duration: 1 week
Reward: 100 points, 1 gacha draw]
Haruka stared at the floating screen, his brow furrowed as he read the mission details. "Stop 3 criminal activities, huh?" he muttered, his voice laced with uncertainty.
"Hey, system, you got anything that can help me out here?" he asked, glancing at the blue screen. "I mean, this whole Kamen Rider thing sounds great and all, but I'm not exactly built for taking down criminals, you know?"
Haruka rubbed the back of his neck, his mind racing. "What if I get in over my head and end up getting myself killed? I'm just a scrawny kid, not some superhero."
"Distributing Hosts newbie package."
The Amazons Omega Driver materialized before Haruka, a black belt with two red and silver handles. In the center, it had a face with two glowing red eyes.
[This was the driver from the 2016 Kamen Rider Amazons series, a darker and more mature take on the Kamen Rider franchise compared to the usual installments.
Kamen Rider Amazons depicted graphic scenes of dismembered body parts and bloody battles. The show centered around creatures called Amazons - humanoid organisms created by Nozama Pharmacy from an artificial cell. These Amazons required massive amounts of protein to survive, leading them to hunt humans or even cannibalize other Amazons in their ravenous hunger.]
Haruka inspected the metallic belt, furrowing his brow. "The Amazons Driver? Will this thing even work for me? I'm not an Amazon or anything."
"Don't worry, Host," the robotic voice of the system replied. "The Driver should still function for you, but since you're not an Amazon, you won't be able to use it at full strength."
Haruka quirked an eyebrow. "How much weaker are we talking here?"
"The original Amazon Omega has a punching and kicking force of around 20 tons. You'll only be able to manage about 5 tons."
Haruka whistled, impressed despite himself. "Huh, well at least the armor should protect me from regular guns and stuff, right? So I've got that going for me."
Haruka eyed the floating blue screen, brow furrowed. "What are these points you mentioned?"
"Points can be used to redeem items in the shop," the screen replied in a robotic tone.
Haruka's curiosity piqued. "The shop? Can I see what's available?"
The blue screen opened a window, revealing a selection of items and gear. Haruka's eyes widened as he scanned the options.

Haruka stared at the floating screen, his brow furrowed. "Holy crap, this stuff is crazy expensive. I don't know if I can even earn enough points to get any of this." He shook his head, feeling overwhelmed.
The screen replied with a smiley face. "All you have to do is work hard, Host."
Haruka scoffed. "Yeah, right. Easy for you to say." He rolled his eyes, sensing the system was teasing him.
Haruka eyed the floating screen, a hint of skepticism in his voice. "How about the gacha draw? Is it random items?"
The system replied in its robotic tone, "The gacha draw allows the Host to randomly obtain an item, ranging from weapons to transformation belts."
Haruka quirked an eyebrow. "So there's also a chance I could get something like a canned droid?"
"Don't worry, Host," the system reassured him. "Each item in the gacha draw will be something useful. You don't have to worry about getting cheap items."
Haruka nodded, a slight sense of relief in his expression. "Well, I guess that's good a little bit."
Haruka looked at the floating blue screen. "I'll call you Ada from now on. Saying 'system' all the time is getting old."
"Very well, I shall be known as Ada from this point forward," the screen replied.
Haruka glanced at the Amazons Driver in his hand. "Hey, Ada, do you have some kind of storage space or something I can use?"
"Yes, Host. The storage space allows you to store any Kamen Rider-related items. You can also instantly retrieve them when needed," Ada explained.
"Good to know." Haruka tucked the Driver into the storage space, then lay back on the bed, contemplating his next move.
Haruka shook his head, letting out a weary sigh. "What a weird day..." He muttered, still trying to wrap his head around everything that had happened. "I died, got reincarnated into the DC universe, and now I'm becoming a Kamen Rider. Haa..."
He ran a hand through his messy hair, feeling overwhelmed. "Let's just go to sleep. I'll think about what to do next tomorrow..." Haruka collapsed back onto the bed, closing his eyes as he tried to rest his mind. It had been one hell of a day, and he knew he needed to recharge before facing whatever challenges lay ahead.
