Chapter 7: Chapter 7
Haruka's footsteps echoed against the towering skyscrapers as he navigated the bustling streets of National City. His eyes scanned the crowds, searching for any sign of criminal activity that he could thwart as the newly minted Kamen Rider.
"Ada," Haruka spoke, glancing at the floating blue screen that had materialized beside him. "Is there any way you can help me locate potential criminal activities? I'm not sure where to start."
The AI's response was immediate. "I'm afraid I don't have that functionality, Haruka. Locating criminal activity is up to you to investigate." A hint of regret tinged Ada's robotic voice. "My role is to provide you with missions and any items you redeem, but I cannot directly point you towards your missions."
Haruka's brow furrowed in frustration. "So I have to find these criminal activities on my own? How am I supposed to know where to look?"
"You'll have to use your own instincts and observation skills," Ada replied. "The system has chosen you for a reason. Trust in your abilities, Haruka."
Letting out a heavy sigh, Haruka continued his trek down the bustling sidewalk, his gaze darting from one person to the next. The city hummed with activity, but Haruka struggled to discern any potential threats.
"This is going to be harder than I thought," he muttered under his breath. As an orphan, Haruka had never been given the chance to develop the kind of street smarts and intuition that might serve him well in this endeavor.
Haruka hears a commotion nearby. He cautiously approaches and sees a group of men robbing a store, quickly loading stolen goods into a van.
"I guess I found one," Haruka mutters.
He ducks behind a wall and pulls out the Amazons Driver from the storage space. Haruka looks at the device, his heart racing with anticipation.
"Let's do this. Henshin."
Gripping the left side of the Amazons Driver, Haruka twists it.
[Omega]
[Evolu-E-Evolution]
Green fire engulfs Haruka, the armor of Amazon Omega forming over his body. The sleek, predominantly green suit has black accents along the limbs, chest, and helmet, giving him a predatory, insectoid appearance.
His helmet features large, glowing red compound eyes and a mouthpiece resembling sharp fangs, adding an intimidating edge. Two silver, jagged "antenna" horns rise from the top of the helmet, a nod to past Amazon Riders.
The organic, sinewy texture of the green chest armor mimics muscle fibers, emphasizing Haruka's wild and untamed persona. Red energy lines pulse along the suit, like veins carrying a primal force.
Haruka's reinforced gauntlets and boots are designed for close-quarters combat, the claw-like tips on his gloves perfect for slashing attacks. The Amazon Driver at his waist appears more like a biological component than a traditional mechanical transformation belt.
[Amazon Omega:

Kicking strength: 5 ton
Maximum Jump Height: 10 m]
With his new Amazon Omega form, Haruka steps out from behind the wall, ready to confront the thieves.
The robbers hastily load the stolen goods into their van.
"Once we're done, we'll be rolling in cash!" one of them exclaims gleefully.
"You bet!" his partner laughs.
Suddenly, a figure in green and black armor descends upon them. With lightning speed, he hurls one of the robbers into a wall, breaking bones and knocking him unconscious.
The remaining robber panics. "Who the hell are you?!"
He opens fire, but the bullets harmlessly bounce off the armored hero's suit. Unfazed, the figure declares, "You can call me Kamen Rider."
In a blur of movement, Kamen Rider leaps forward, his claw-like gauntlets slicing the robber's gun in half. He then flips the man to the ground, slamming him down with force.
The two remaining robbers, alerted by the commotion, hurried to check on their fallen comrades. Their eyes widened in shock and terror as they laid eyes on the towering, armored figure of Amazon Omega.
"What the—" one of the robbers stammered, fumbling to pull out his gun.
His partner acted faster, unleashing a barrage of bullets towards the Kamen Rider. Amazon Omega's reflexes were lightning-fast, and he effortlessly leaped and dodged the incoming fire, the bullets ricocheting off his durable suit.
In a single, fluid motion, Amazon Omega bounded forward, closing the distance between them. With a powerful swing of his clawed gauntlet, he struck the gunman's hand, shattering the bones and sending the weapon clattering to the ground.
The other robber, seeing his partner's fate, attempted to flee, but Amazon Omega was relentless. He pounced, tackling the man to the pavement and pinning him down with his sheer strength.
"Agh! Get off me, you freak!" the robber cried out, his voice laced with terror.
Amazon Omega's response was a swift elbow strike to the man's ribs, the sickening crunch of breaking bones echoing through the alley. The robber howled in pain, his defiant struggle fading as the Kamen Rider's overwhelming power overwhelmed him.
With the four criminals subdued, Amazon Omega rose to his full height, surveying the aftermath of the confrontation.
The police sirens wail in the distance, drawing closer. Haruka perches atop a nearby rooftop, watching as the officers arrive and discover the four robbers sprawled on the ground, their bodies battered and broken.
"What the hell happened to you guys?" one of the cops mutters, bewildered.
The ambulance pulls up, its lights flashing, and the medics rush to attend to the injured criminals. Haruka glances down at his mission log, noting the progress indicator has risen. With a silent nod, he turns and disappears into the night, leaving the authorities to clean up the aftermath of his latest intervention.
[Mission: Stop 3 criminal activities: 1/3
Duration: 1 week
Reward: 100 points, 1 gacha draw]
Haruka scans the city skyline, hoping to spot more criminal activity. "That's one down. I hope I can find others," he murmurs. With a powerful leap, he bounds from rooftop to rooftop, his eyes darting back and forth.
However, the streets below remain eerily quiet. Haruka frowns, perplexed. In a city as vast and complex as this, he assumed crime would be rampant. Yet, the night seems unnaturally still.
He pauses, surveying the landscape. "Guess I was wrong. Seems too quiet out there." Haruka shakes his head, unsure of what to make of the lack of activity. Nonetheless, he remains vigilant, ready to spring into action at the first sign of trouble.
Haruka spotted a woman being accosted by a mugger in a dark alley. Without hesitation, he leaped down from the rooftop, his heavy boots hitting the ground with a thud. The mugger, caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the towering, armored figure, turned just in time to receive a swift chop to the neck from Amazon Omega's clawed gauntlet. The force of the blow was enough to send the mugger crumpling to the ground, unconscious.
The woman, her eyes wide with fear, stared up at the imposing Kamen Rider, her body trembling. "Wh-what are you?" she stammered, her voice quivering.
Haruka, unsure of how to handle the woman's reaction, did not want to linger. With a powerful leap, he bounded away, disappearing into the shadows, leaving the bewildered woman behind.
Haruka checks his progress and sees it's still stuck at 1/3. He frowns, frustrated. "What? That didn't count? Hey, Ada, I stopped that mugger. How come it didn't count?"
"A certain danger level must be met for the mission to count toward the progress," Ada's robotic voice replies.
Haruka's brow furrows. "So does that mean small crimes don't count? I have to find robberies or gang hideouts for it to count?"
"Yes, Haruka," Ada confirms.
Haruka lets out an exasperated sigh. "Damn it."
Haruka continued his patrol, scanning the city streets for any criminal activity that would count towards his mission. However, as the night wore on, he found only petty crimes—purse snatchers and muggers lurking in the shadows. While he quickly subdued these minor offenders, his imposing Amazon Omega form struck fear into the hearts of his victims rather than gratitude.
In a dimly lit alley, Haruka spotted a woman being accosted by a man trying to snatch her purse. Without hesitation, he leaped down, his heavy boots landing with a thud that made the mugger jump in fright.
The would-be thief whirled around, eyes widening at the sight of the towering, armored figure. "What the—?" he gasped, fumbling to pull a knife from his pocket.
Haruka didn't waste a moment. With lightning speed, he seized the man's wrist, twisting it until the knife clattered to the ground. The mugger howled in pain, dropping the woman's purse as Haruka effortlessly subdued him.
The woman, her face etched with terror, scrambled to retrieve her belongings, her gaze fixed on the Kamen Rider looming over the defeated criminal. "Th-thank you," she stammered, her voice quivering.
Haruka paused, unsure of how to respond. He simply nodded, then turned and leaped back onto the rooftops, leaving the shaken woman behind.
Further down the street, Haruka spotted a group of teenagers snatching a purse from an elderly woman. Without hesitation, he swooped down, landing between the thieves and their victim.
"Back off," he growled, his voice distorted by the Amazon Omega helmet.
The teenagers recoiled in fear, their eyes wide as they took in the sight of the imposing Kamen Rider. One of them, the leader, tried to rally his friends. "Wh-what are you waiting for? Get him!"
But the others hesitated, their resolve crumbling in the face of Haruka's raw power and intimidating presence. Seizing the opportunity, Haruka snatched the purse from the leader's hands and tossed it back to the elderly woman.
"Leave," he commanded, his tone brooking no argument.
The teenagers needed no further encouragement. They scattered, fleeing in terror from the armored hero.
The old woman, her eyes filled with a mixture of gratitude and fear, clutched her purse tightly. "Th-thank you," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Haruka simply nodded, then turned and disappeared into the night, leaving the shaken victim behind.
Haruka checked the time and saw it was nearly 6:00 pm. Haruka's shoulders slumped slightly as he realized another night of crimefighting had yielded little progress on his mission. With a weary sigh, he decided it was time to go home.
Leaping from the rooftop, Haruka landed gracefully on the street below, his Amazon Omega armor shimmering in the fading daylight. As he made his way through the quiet city, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. The lack of substantial criminal activity had left him frustrated, yearning for a greater challenge.
