Kamen Rider in DC

Chapter 9: Chapter 9

It is the next day, and Haruka makes his way down the bustling hallway of National High School, his steps steady and purposeful. The weight of the previous day's events still lingers, but he's determined to face this day with the same resolve he's mustered for the Kamen Rider mission.

As he approaches his classroom, a familiar trio of bullies blocks his path. Russell, Ethan, and Davis, the school's self-proclaimed "tough guys," stand before him, their expressions twisted into menacing grins.

"Well, well, if it isn't our favorite punching bag," Russell sneers, his massive frame looming over Haruka.

Ethan chimes in, his voice dripping with false bravado. "Yeah, we've been missing our daily dose of Haruka-beatdowns. You're looking a little too confident for our liking."

Davis, the smallest of the three, scoffs. "Maybe we need to remind you of your place around here, huh?"

Haruka feels a twinge of unease, but he refuses to back down. His eyes narrow as he meets their taunting gazes, his jaw set with determination. "I may not remember who I was before the accident, but I'm not your punching bag anymore," he says, his voice steady and resolute.

The bullies exchange a surprised glance, clearly taken aback by Haruka's defiant response. They had grown accustomed to his meek submission, and this newfound backbone seems to unsettle them.

Ethan takes a step forward, his fists clenching. "Oh, yeah? You think you're tough now, huh? We'll see about that."

Haruka stands his ground, his body tensing as he prepares to defend himself if necessary. The hallway falls silent, the other students watching with bated breath, anticipating the confrontation.

Just as Ethan steps forward, ready to throw the first punch, a familiar figure steps in between them.

"That's enough," Kara says, her voice firm and unwavering. The bullies pause, momentarily taken aback by her sudden intervention.

Davis sneers, "Move out of the way, girlie. This doesn't concern you."

Kara's eyes narrow, and Haruka can sense the underlying tension radiating from her. "I won't repeat myself. Stop this now," she says, her tone brooking no argument.

The bullies exchange uneasy glances, sensing the danger that Kara's presence brings.

"Aw, look, the little dweeb here needs a girl to fight his battles," Russell taunts, his voice dripping with mockery. "How pathetic."

The other bullies chuckle, their laughter echoing in the silent hallway. Haruka feels a flush of embarrassment, but he refuses to let their words get to him. He stands tall, his gaze unwavering as he meets their jeers.

Ethan shakes his head, a sneer plastered on his face. "Come on, guys. Let's leave the lovebirds to their own devices. This is getting boring."

The trio of bullies turn and saunter away, their laughter fading down the corridor. Haruka lets out a breath he didn't realize he was holding, his shoulders slumping with relief.

Kara turns to him, her expression softening. "Are you alright?" she asks, her voice laced with genuine concern.

Haruka nods, trying to maintain his composure. "I'm fine, really. I could have handled them on my own."

Kara gives him a skeptical look. "Don't kid yourself. Those guys are trouble, and you're still recovering from the accident. You need to be more careful."

Haruka opens his mouth to protest, but Kara cuts him off. "Look, I'm not trying to lecture you. I just don't want to see you get hurt again." Her expression softens, and Haruka feels a tinge of gratitude.

"Alright, alright. I'll be more careful," he concedes, knowing Kara has a point.

They head to their classroom, Haruka's steps a little lighter now that he has an ally. As they settle into their seats, Kara turns to him.

"So, how are you adjusting to all of this?" she asks, her voice low and sincere.

Haruka pauses, considering the question. "It's been...a lot to take in, to be honest. I'm still trying to figure out who I am and where I fit in all of this." He gestures vaguely, encompassing the grand school and his newfound life.

Kara nods, understanding in her eyes. "Well, for what it's worth, I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to. I may not have all the answers, but I'll do my best to listen."

Haruka feels a small smile tug at the corners of his mouth. "Thanks, Kara. I appreciate that."

As the teacher begins the lesson, Haruka finds himself feeling a little less alone, grateful for Kara's unexpected kindness and support.

Haruka sits on the rooftop, a small pile of hamburgers beside him. He unwraps one, taking a bite as he gazes out at the city skyline. The food helps quell the gnawing hunger he feels, a side effect of using the Amazon Driver's transformation.

He sighs, "This city is too peaceful. Looking for crime is harder than I thought." Haruka shrugs, taking another bite. "Well, I guess that's a good thing. If I were in Gotham, the overflow of crime there would just piss me off."

He glances down at the Amazon Driver on his waist, its organic design a constant reminder of the power it holds. Haruka knows he could unleash that power, become Amazon Omega, and seek out trouble. But for now, the quiet streets are a welcome respite, even if it means his superhero duties are a bit lacking.

Haruka hears the distant wail of police sirens and spots a car speeding down the street, weaving through traffic. His eyes narrow as he watches the vehicle flee from the pursuing officers.

"Guess it is time to get to work," he mutters, his hand instinctively moving to the Amazon Driver at his waist.

Gripping the left side of the belt, Haruka twists the Battler Grip, feeling the familiar surge of power coursing through him.

[Omega]

With a determined expression, he calls out, "Henshin!"

In a flash of green energy, Haruka transforms into the mighty Amazon Omega, his body encased in the sleek, predatory armor.

[Evolu-E-Evolution]

Haruka, now transformed into Amazon Omega, leaps from building to building, his enhanced speed and agility allowing him to close the distance on the fleeing vehicle. With a mighty jump, he lands squarely on the hood of the car, causing the driver and his three accomplices to stare in shock at the imposing figure in green and black armor.

The criminals inside the car are momentarily paralyzed, their eyes wide as they take in the sight of Amazon Omega towering over them. Haruka can see the fear and uncertainty in their expressions, the realization that they are now facing a formidable opponent.

"What the hell is that thing?" one of the men shouts, his voice laced with panic.

Another criminal in the backseat reaches for a gun, but Amazon is quicker, grabbing the man's wrist and twisting it, forcing him to drop the weapon. The criminal howls in pain, cradling his injured arm.

Haruka, his voice amplified by the Amazon Driver, declares, "Your crimes end here."

With a powerful swing of his arm, he brings his fist down onto the car's front tires, shattering them. The sudden loss of traction causes the vehicle to careen out of control, flipping over violently.

Reacting swiftly, Amazon Omega leaps back, putting a safe distance between himself and the tumbling car. He watches as the vehicle rolls several times before coming to a stop, its occupants trapped inside.

Amazon surveys the overturned vehicle, his enhanced senses alert for any further threats. The car's occupants begin to stir, groaning as they regain consciousness.

One by one, the criminals emerge from the wreckage, dazed and disoriented. Haruka doesn't hesitate, stalking towards them with purpose. The men scramble, their bravado quickly turning to fear at the sight of the towering Kamen Rider.

Haruka watches as they attempt to flee, his predatory instincts taking over. With swift, precise movements, he takes them down one by one. A well-placed kick sends one criminal sprawling, while a crushing grip incapacitates another.

Amazon surveys the scene. The last criminal, eyes wide with terror, sees his partners lying unconscious at Omega's feet. The man turns to run.

Amazon grips the right grip of the Amazon Driver and pulls it out, revealing a spear. Without hesitation, he throws the weapon, the spear hooking the jacket of the fleeing criminal.

[Violent Break]

The spear impales the wall, leaving the criminal hanging, suspended in the air and unable to escape. Haruka watches impassively as the man struggles, his cries for help echoing through the empty street.

Haruka watches as the helpless criminal cowers before him, begging for mercy. "Please, don't hurt me! I'll do anything!" the man pleads, his voice trembling.

Haruka feels no sympathy. This man is a criminal, one who has chosen to inflict harm on the innocent. With a swift motion, he brings his fist down, striking the criminal in the stomach. The man's eyes roll back as he loses consciousness, slumping against the wall.

Retrieving the Battler Grip spear, Haruka hears the distant wail of sirens. The police are closing in. He can't risk being discovered, not when he's so close to completing his mission.

With a powerful leap, Amazon Omega scales the nearby building, disappearing from view just as the police cars pull up. Haruka watches from the rooftop as the officers swarm the overturned vehicle, apprehending the unconscious criminals.

A small smile forms on his lips as he sees the mission progress indicator on the system's display increase. His efforts have been successful, and he feels a sense of satisfaction wash over him.

Haruka's stomach suddenly rumbles, reminding him of his need for sustenance. "I want some hamburgers..." he mutters, recalling the pile of food waiting for him back on the rooftop.
