King Of War: Starting with Arms Dealer

Chapter 895: The Last Struggle

Joe Ga watched as Squad C disappeared into the darkness, then patted Dorian's arm and said in a deep voice, "Elephant, we need heavy weapons. The Apache just used rockets to destroy a downed Black Hawk and those mercenaries, but there's still another one left."

"We go seize it!"

Dorian eyed the last Apache hovering in the distance for reconnaissance, and said nervously, "Boss, let's split up. I'll draw its attention and get it to come closer to us..."

Joe Ga saw Dorian take out a flare stick, ready to ignite it. He shook his head, just about to speak, when a huge explosion erupted near the highway in the distance.

That was the location where the National Guard had gathered—an entire battalion of soldiers had entered the jungle from that direction.

Joe Ga flinched at the sound of the explosion, and the Apache above was equally distracted.

Joe Ga activated his communicator to call 'Pliers' and confirmed it was indeed the Madman who caused the explosion. He rushed to the missile backpack, strapped it on, and waved fiercely, shouting, "We're going, we're going..."

Dorian and Ayu exchanged a glance and quickly followed...

The Apache pilot had orders to kill Boss Joe and his crew—eliminating everyone.

But confronted with the towering smoke from the explosion and the desperate pleas for help from the National Guard below, the pilot ultimately decided to turn around.

The pilot intended to deal with the enemies near the highway first and then coordinate with the ground forces to hunt the remaining targets.

Just as the Apache slowed down to turn, a drone exploded on its flank.

The pilot, startled by the sudden blast, jerked the control stick, veering in the direction of the detonation to escape the blast radius and regain his obstructed visuals.

As the Apache was turning, six missiles suddenly shot out from the ground...

As soon as the warning sounded, the pilot released a burst of countermeasures, but the Talus system's lock-on time was too brief. By the time the pilot reacted, it was already too late.

Four of the six missiles hit the Apache's flank—the windshield was pierced by shrapnel, and the pilot inside was instantly turned into shredded meat wrapped in his flight suit.

The crash of the last Apache helicopter caused massive turmoil for the National Guard. Soldiers sent into the jungle to hunt Joe Ga's crew were thrown into chaos; some wanted to continue the mission, while most wanted to retreat...

In America, being a soldier is a job. Aside from elite units, most soldiers lack the courage for hard-fought battles.

Once Joe Ga decided to show no mercy, Squad C entered the fray. The mounting deaths accelerated the National Guard soldiers' collapse.

General Ogen had dispatched six units into the mountainous jungle, and within 40 minutes after the last Apache's downing, all of them were decimated.

The Apache bombing crushed one unit; Ronnie's team had held off three from the start; and the remaining two were no match for Squad C's ruthless assaults.

'Poison Wolf' and his men wanted desperately to emulate the brutal tactics of seasoned jungle fighters. While they couldn't master certain combat skills or traits, they could replicate the savagery.

One squad encountered a Broad Sword mine, and most of the soldiers were knocked down.

When Squad C appeared like phantoms, the remaining young soldiers were scared out of their wits.

'Poison Wolf' didn't kill them but shot them in the legs, confiscated their weapons, and left them a radio, instructing them to call for help.

The young soldiers burst into tears and screamed for aid over the radio. But when another squad arrived nearby, they ran straight into a leap mine.

The mine shot into the air and exploded, incapacitating half of the rescue team instantly. As the rest hesitated amid the screams of their injured comrades, Squad C launched an ambush...

At the same time, Ronnie and Jack began to replicate these tactics...

Bone Crusher, wielding a 'Stinger,' suffered heavy injuries after being pursued by Apache rockets.

Previously holding back, Ronnie and Jack no longer allowed the soldiers who had entered the mountains to roam freely...

The SEAL Team 6 commander, aided by a 'Tracker,' quickly lured three squads into a trap...

In the National Guard command center, Cooper yanked at General Ogen's collar, shouting in fury, "FUCK, look at what you've done!

Your soldiers are dying!"

Cooper then grabbed the radio headset and shoved it against Ogen's ear, yelling, "Order your men to pull out, all of them, now! How many bodies do you need before you're satisfied?"

At this point, Ogen knew he was finished. His last shred of hope lay in the possibility of Joe Ga and his team being wiped out—allowing Rashiri and the Oregon State Governor to bail him out.

After all, he 'did nothing wrong.' Encountering foreign armed forces during a drill and ordering the National Guard to retaliate when under attack could be defended in court.

The key issue was the political game behind the scenes. If Boss Joe died, Big Mouth Tang would lose Oregon and Idaho's votes, and their faction would emerge victorious.

If Boss Joe survived, Tom Reed's collaboration would help Big Mouth Tang rise to power, sealing their total defeat.

Hearing the screams and pleas for help over the radio, Ogen's expression froze for a moment, then he silently shook his head...

"FCUK..."

Cooper grabbed a pistol and pressed it against Ogen's forehead, roaring furiously, "Order your men to stand down! Those soldiers shouldn't be dying!"

Ogen glanced at the other officers in the command center, whose expressions ranged from grim to hesitant. He then leaned forward, pressing his forehead against the gun barrel, stating, "Without orders from the state government, I won't call for a retreat.

Someone has used force on our turf—I am safeguarding Oregon State's interests."

Cooper was on the verge of losing his mind. He couldn't comprehend how someone could be so selfish.

They only cared about themselves, only cared about winning, completely disregarding the consequences of their decisions.

They just wanted to win, using any means necessary—even walking over the corpses of those who trusted them.

Cooper had called many people, seeking help to end this farcical nightmare.

But most entities with influence over the state government weren't working at this hour.

The White House even stated that this was Oregon's issue and they had no authority to intervene...

As the radio continued to broadcast non-stop reports of ambushes and pleas for help, Cooper tried calling Joe Ga's satellite phone...

After numerous attempts that yielded no response, Cooper slumped into a chair, glared at General Ogen, and declared, "You'll regret this. I'll send you to the deepest prison and engrave the names of the soldiers who died because of you on your bedside.

I'll make sure you spend the rest of your life consumed by guilt!"

............

Joe Ga had now reached a Black Hawk crash site, coincidentally near a downed Little Bird.

The drone's impact wasn't catastrophic for helicopters; they still retained their basic structure.

When Joe Ga's team arrived, the surviving pilot and crew members had already evacuated.

Initially, Boss Joe aimed to acquire the Black Hawk's M134 Gatling gun, but he unexpectedly found two loaded seven-rocket pods on the Little Bird.

There was no room for hesitation—Joe Ga and Dorian rushed forward and quickly dismounted the two rocket pods.

Though surprised their boss carried tools around, the awestruck Dorian instantly grasped Joe Ga's intent.

The Gatling gun might be flashy, but it was only intimidating for a while; compared to bullets, explosions were far superior in lethality and deterrence.

Electrically triggered rocket pods were simple to modify; Joe Ga finished the adjustments in no time, using an extended wire and a battery to enable rocket launches.

After nearly thirty minutes of work, Joe Ga stood up clutching a rocket pod, but staggered slightly...

The nearly 100-kilogram weight pushed Joe Ga to his limit, but it wasn't entirely unbearable.

The flexible exoskeleton displayed its robust support capabilities...

Ayu saw the boss struggling with the rocket pod, slung her machine gun on her back, and approached to shoulder the rocket pod herself. She grinned at the boss and said, "Boss, I'll handle this job..."

Joe Ga didn't bother calculating how much Ayu was carrying. He glanced disdainfully at the equally strained Dorian, walked over, and helped him lift another rocket pod. As they ascended a nearby hillside, he commented, "Elephant, why are you so weak?

When I go back, I swear I'll train in the gym until I drop..."

His boss's incoherent rant left Dorian feeling exasperated...

"Boss, we're not even the same species as Ayu!"

Dorian gritted his teeth, hoisted the rocket pod higher, and adjusted to the boss's uphill stride to reduce his burden...

"Boss, let's never fight in America again. Without air cover, I feel completely out of my element.

FUCK, we should've just killed that old hag directly—her death would've ended all this crap."

Hunched over and climbing laboriously, Joe Ga growled, "Quit talking nonsense. If we win, we'll have at least four good years ahead...

I just didn't expect those bastards to go this crazy..."

Grinding his teeth, Joe Ga finally reached the hilltop. He gazed at the scattered lights in the forest and the chaotic scene on the far highway...

He lowered the rocket pod, found the optimal position, and dug a shallow pit with openings on both sides. With effort, he slotted the rocket pod inside.

After some adjustments, he confirmed the rockets would likely land where he intended and filled in the gaps around the pod.

Repeating the process, he buried Ayu's rocket pod as well. Then, Joe Ga gestured to Dorian, and together they used a 40-centimeter-wide dead tree trunk to press down on the rocket pod...

Taking a moment to catch his breath, Joe Ga checked his ammunition, stretched his neck, and grinned fiercely. "Let's go. I want to see how many of them must die before they'll stop."
