"I'll send it to the plane's laboratory first!"
With that, Michael controlled the corpse and turned away.
"It seems he knows something." Coulson said calmly, then ordered the others to investigate the scene.
Back on the plane, Michael put the body away, but did not remove the mental protective shield.
"If I remember correctly, he was infected by a virus from the helmet of the Chitauri, the alien army that invaded during the Battle of New York. The helmet contains a virus, but there is an antidote." Michael thought for a moment and asked the system, "Is there any use for that helmet?"
[No.]
The system gave a straightforward answer.
Michael curled his lips. He had guessed it would be of no use. In that case, he was too lazy to get involved.
After a while, Coulson and the others came back. Just as they were about to ask, Michael said directly, "This person was infected with an alien virus. It should be the Chitauri helmet. One of them must have it, and more than one person was infected. If we find the helmet, we can develop an antidote. That's all I know. I'll leave the details to you."
"What about you?"
"Me? I have other things to do, so I'll just stay on the plane!"
The helmet was useless, and he had provided the information, so Michael was too lazy to get involved. He would rather spend his time absorbing the ether particles as quickly as possible or studying the fear crystals.
Seeing that Michael had no intention of participating further, Coulson didn't know what to say. After all, the information he provided was already very important.
Michael turned around, went back to his room, and continued to absorb the ether particles.
While Michael was absorbed in devouring the ether particles, Coulson and the others quickly identified the deceased as Adam, thanks to the information Michael provided, and soon found the alien helmet. It turned out that a fire brigade had been infected with the virus while handling the alien helmet. After bringing it back, Jemma and Fitz quickly developed an antidote. It wasn't easy at first, but through comparison and testing, they finally created an antidote, promptly detoxifying those infected by the alien virus!
The mission was accomplished, and the helmet was prepared for safekeeping. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and couldn't help but marvel at Michael's knowledge and foresight.
If he hadn't already known, Jemma might have been infected, and those who were infected might have died. The most important thing is that if Michael hadn't provided the hint for the antidote, even Simmons might have died.
Although none of these things happened, Jemma's gratitude toward Michael deepened.
[Upgrade completed!]
Michael was focused on absorbing the ether particles when he suddenly heard the voice of the system.
"The upgrade is complete. Are there any changes?" Michael asked eagerly.
[The dungeon or copy world retention time is increased to seven days, the task refresh time is shortened to fifteen days, and the third copy world is opened!]
Hearing the system's answer, Michael couldn't help but pump his fist excitedly.
"I didn't expect this upgrade to be so powerful. The stay time has been increased from three days to seven days, and the refresh time has been cut in half. I can now enter a copy world every fifteen days. This is amazing! But the best thing is the opening of the third copy world!" Michael grew more excited the more he thought about it. He hadn't expected the third plane to open so soon.
This gave him more freedom to choose the plane he wanted to enter.
"What are you so happy about?"
At the door, Skye appeared, looking at Michael, who was smiling widely, and asked curiously.
Michael shook his head and held out his hand. Skye took it, sitting on his lap as he held her close, "Things have been going well recently. We have a spaceship, a base, and a few reliable subordinates. We should be able to establish something substantial soon."
"Is there anything I can help you with?"
Michael was doing so well that Skye felt happy, too, and wanted to support him in any way she could.
Michael thought for a moment and said, "Not yet, but I hope you can get along well with the people here. S.H.I.E.L.D. probably won't hold out much longer. It would be best if we could bring them over when the time comes."
"I understand." Skye nodded, then asked curiously, "But what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
"Hydra. Have you heard of it?"
Skye nodded, "Of course I know about Hydra, but didn't they say Hydra was destroyed a long time ago?"
"If you cut off one head, two will grow back. If Hydra could be destroyed that easily, it wouldn't be Hydra. They were only destroyed on the surface, but they've already infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. deeply. S.H.I.E.L.D. is no longer just S.H.I.E.L.D.," Michael explained slowly.
Skye's eyes widened in shock at this revelation.
"Don't worry too much. Trust me—no matter what happens, I'll be here."
"Of course, I believe you." Skye nodded earnestly.
---
As night fell, everyone went to bed.
In the lab, the lights were still on. Jemma, wearing a white coat and glasses, was studying a superpower serum on sophisticated equipment. Though she wasn't an expert in genetics, as a biologist, she was fascinated by how the serum could grant superpowers. She was so focused that she didn't notice Michael walking in.
Michael didn't make a sound to disturb her but stood quietly watching. Jemma had a good figure and beautiful facial features. Due to her personality and profession, she rarely dressed up. Beneath the loose white coat, her straight, fair legs were visible. Michael's lips curled into a smile. He remembered telling Jemma that her legs were beautiful and that she should wear skirts or shorts more often. It seemed she had listened, as during the mission earlier, she'd worn jeans.
"Ah..." Jemma looked up, startled to see Michael suddenly there, "Why are you here?"
Michael walked over with a smile, "I brought a gift, but no one seems to have returned the favor. So I came to check if someone forgot."
Jemma blushed slightly, "If I can figure out this superpower serum, wouldn't that be the best gift in return?"
"That's true, but who knows how long that'll take? How about a little interest first? Maybe… take off your coat? Didn't you purposely avoid wearing pants for me? Now your white coat is blocking the view. What a shame." Michael said playfully.
Jemma hadn't expected Michael to notice. After a brief hesitation, she took off her white coat.
Underneath, she wore a simple T-shirt and denim shorts.
She looked youthful, and, most importantly, her long legs were beautifully highlighted.
"So beautiful."
Michael's admiring gaze made Jemma a bit nervous.
"Have you ever heard the phrase 'legs for days'?" Michael asked her with a grin.
Jemma shook her head in confusion, "I haven't heard that. What does it mean?"
Michael pointed to her legs, "It means your legs are so stunning that I could admire them for years. It might sound a bit cheeky, but it's true—they're really that beautiful."
"Really?" Jemma sounded a bit doubtful. She had never thought much of her legs and hadn't been complimented on them before.
"Absolutely. They're beautiful and a pleasure to look at. I'd love to see them forever." Michael said, pausing before adding, "If S.H.I.E.L.D. collapses, would you consider joining me? I have my own lab, but I don't have anyone I can trust to run it. If you join, it's all yours."
"Could S.H.I.E.L.D. really fall?" Jemma asked, startled. The idea hadn't even crossed her mind.
