Chapter 193: Chapter 192: Uchiha and Hyuga
Chapter 192: Uchiha and Hyuga
In an obscure corner of the Ninja World...
"So, old man, what's your decision?"
The speaker was a muscular giant with dark skin, his body covered in bulging muscles. A distinct lightning-shaped mark adorned his chest, and his towering height—well over six feet—made him an imposing figure.
Behind him stood several well-armed ninjas, all sharing a similar physical build and dark complexion, exuding an air of raw strength.
In stark contrast, the man standing opposite him was diminutive and frail-looking, his stature seemingly half that of the muscular giant. This was an older ninja, his hunched frame accentuating the height disparity.
Despite the vast difference in their physical appearances, both men bore the same fiery hostility in their eyes. Their mutual animosity was palpable, filling the air like an electric charge.
It was almost unthinkable for these two men, clearly enemies, to be standing together without resorting to violence. Yet, here they were, engaged in dialogue for the sake of their respective villages.
The older man floated in mid-air, an ability he employed to compensate for his lack of height. He stared directly into the eyes of the towering ninja, refusing to back down in the face of his imposing presence.
Their chakras clashed visibly, spiraling around them like opposing forces of nature. The tension was further heightened when the giant addressed the elder as "old man," a term that nearly pushed him over the edge.
"You overgrown pile of muscles," the older man snarled, baring his teeth. "Don't pretend you don't already know what I'm thinking! I've figured out your little scheme!"
The two glared at each other, their gazes locked in a battle of wills. It was clear that neither would yield easily, and their confrontation was on the verge of erupting into a full-blown fight.
Fortunately, others were present to intervene.
"Lord Tsuchikage, let's focus on the matter at hand."
"Lord Raikage, please!"
The elder was none other than the Third Tsuchikage, Onoki of the Two Scales, a notoriously stubborn leader of Iwagakure. Opposite him stood the Third Raikage, A, a man renowned for his immense physical power, often referred to as possessing the "strongest spear" and the "strongest shield."
This clandestine meeting was no mere coincidence. The two Kage had gathered to discuss a critical issue: whether or not to join the war initiated by Sunagakure against Konohagakure.
During the Second Great Ninja War, Iwagakure and Sunagakure had fought together against Konoha and Amegakure. Now, with Sunagakure once again leading the charge, it seemed only natural for Iwagakure to follow suit.
However, the situation was complicated. At the end of the Second Ninja War, Kumogakure had taken advantage of the conflict to launch a surprise attack on the Land of Earth, seizing a portion of its territory—a loss Iwagakure had not forgotten.
As a result, Iwagakure bore grudges against both Konoha and Kumogakure. For the Tsuchikage, either target was fair game.
Yet, the Raikage had initiated this meeting, hoping to forge a temporary alliance.
Kumogakure's motivation was clear: the loss of the Two-Tails, Matatabi, to Konoha. While the details of this event were unknown to most, the Raikage had never forgotten the humiliation of losing such a vital weapon.
Though a proud man, the Raikage understood the value of setting aside his pride when necessary. Taking a deep breath, he responded in a steady voice, "If you already know my intentions, let's hear your terms."
The Tsuchikage's sharp eyes gleamed with satisfaction at the Raikage's conciliatory tone.
"Return the land you stole from us," Onoki demanded. "And compensate us for the losses we've suffered over the years. Only then will we consider setting aside our grievances to face a common enemy."
The Raikage nodded after a moment's thought. He had anticipated such demands and was prepared to agree.
"Deal."
The two leaders exchanged a curt handshake, sealing a fragile and tenuous alliance.
Both villages began preparing their forces for war.

At the border of the Land of Rain and the Land of Fire…
Five days had passed since the intense battle between Konoha and Sunagakure.
During this time, Konoha's forces had begun recovering from the confrontation. Severely injured ninjas were sent back to the village under escort, alongside the bodies of their fallen comrades.
These fallen shinobi were hailed as heroes. Their names would be etched into the Memorial Stone, while the injured would be reassigned to non-combat roles or provided for by the village.
Despite their victory, Konoha had paid a heavy price. Of the 3,000-strong force, 600 were either killed or incapacitated. The loss was significant, though Sunagakure had suffered even greater casualties.
The large-scale battles had given way to smaller skirmishes as both sides shifted to a war of attrition. Ninja teams were deployed to sabotage supply lines and establish strategic footholds across the Land of Rain.
For the average ninja, these missions provided opportunities to earn merit and rise in rank.
However, for Orochimaru and Tonari, the responsibilities were different. Orochimaru, as the overall commander, was consumed with planning and logistics. Tonari, overseeing the medical division, had more freedom when there were no critical injuries to address.
This freedom allowed Tonari to pursue his own interests. Beneath the surface of the Land of Rain, he had established a secret laboratory.
On the table before him lay several bodies, including a prize acquisition: the corpse of the Third Kazekage.
The body, retrieved from Sasori by Tonari and Kakuzu, was remarkably intact. Though poisoned, the Third Kazekage's physique remained well-preserved.
The other two bodies on the table belonged to fallen Konoha shinobi—one from the Uchiha Clan and one from the Hyuga Clan.
The Uchiha body had been recovered from the battlefield and not reported to Konoha. This particular shinobi had been a promising Chunin with a rare dual-tomoe Sharingan.
The Hyuga body, like all branch family members, bore the Caged Bird Seal. While the seal had destroyed the Byakugan upon death, Tonari's interest lay elsewhere.
His curiosity extended to the genetic and biological differences between these clans, particularly the Uchiha and Hyuga, whose bloodlines could be traced back to the legendary Sage of Six Paths and his brother, Hamura Otsutsuki.
Carefully, Tonari removed the Uchiha shinobi's Sharingan, placing the preserved eyes into a specialized container filled with a nutrient-rich solution.
The vivid crimson orbs gleamed like rubies, their tomoe seemingly swirling with latent power.
"Even though it's only dual-tomoe, it's better than nothing," Tonari muttered, suppressing his excitement.
For him, the Sharingan represented unparalleled potential—an artifact of both history and power.
However, the Sharingan's use by non-Uchiha was fraught with complications. From Kakashi to Danzo, history had shown that non-Uchiha struggled to bear the chakra consumption and physical strain of the Sharingan.
Yet, Tonari's ambition was undeterred.
"Two goals," he said to himself. "First, perfect the transplantation process for non-Uchiha. Second, determine how to evolve the Sharingan to three tomoe or even the Mangekyo Sharingan."
Tonari recalled the research of the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, who had studied Uchiha physiology. Tobirama's findings revealed that the Uchiha's emotional intensity—particularly negative emotions—was the key to unlocking and enhancing the Sharingan.
"Emotion, yin chakra... or perhaps both?" Tonari pondered.
Gripping one of the preserved Sharingan, he smiled.
"There's no point in theorizing. Time to see for myself."
With practiced precision, Tonari prepared for surgery.
Despite the challenges, his curiosity outweighed any hesitation.
